From my initial enquiry, Kristian Trout made and sent me a video straight away of the vehicle and included answers to some of my questions during the video which was great. Being based over 300 miles away (Isle Of Wight) it was not possible to visit the dealership just to view the vehicle however Kristian was able to provide me further information (service history) and an update on the vehicle being pre-inspected and prepped for sale as it had only just arrived in. After explaining the distance and logistics of me getting to Newcastle, Kristian put me at ease and I discussed with him that I would have to fly up from Southampton and he would arrange for me to be collected from the airport and brought to the dealership. I was pleased with this and went a head and put a rdeposit down. This was the 1st time I have ever put a deposit on a vehicle without actually viewing it in person. Kristian then confirmed a date for viewing and handover and I booked my flights. The collection day went to plan and I received an excellent service from the minute I was collected from the airport and my time at the dealership. I am extremely happy with my new vehicle and drove it all the way back down to the Isle Of Wight on the same day! Many thanks to Kristian and all the team at the dealership!

The best experience I have ever had buying a new vehicle. I have bought many cars and commercial vehicles over the years from main dealers and I can say hand on heart that this is the best experience I have ever had, from my initial enquiry through to picking up my new van it was absolutely seamless. This is solely down to the sales executive I dealt with; Jack Guthery. He has been an absolute pleasure to deal with, my initial phone enquiry was handled very well and proffessionally, a video of the new van was sent to me within half an hour, we agreed a fair price for my part exchange and I paid the deposit immediately. I live approximately 250 miles away from the dealership and have never bought a vehicle without viewing it first, I felt very confident in Jacks professional attitude and did not hesitate to spend nearly 40k without seeing it first! If all sales executives had the same approach to customer service as Jack, every 'sales industry' would be far better off, he is a credit to the motor industry and Lookers VW Van Centre Newcastle. The entrance has a small ramp which is too steep for an independent wheelchair user to negotiate but staff came to my aid when I'm they saw me struggling. My van came back clean after service and MOT. I had no way of picking it up when they were finished so they delivered it for me which was much appreciated. Disappointed to see that some staff weren't wearing masks. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Very disappointed with the issues with a 60k brand new California, however Jack in sales and Andrew the manager have done everything within their power to rectify my experience. Backwards approach to customer needs. My van was booked in for an MOT. However, it had a headlamp bulb out which I requested to get replaced before they started the MOT, as I knew it would fail. They ignored my request and failed the MOT test. Then dared to ask after the test for 1 hours labour equating to 120£ including vat to change a bulb that I had supplied. However the other services I also paid for were completed in a reasonable time.

Bought van during lockdown so there was no face to face contact. Sales people were very helpful and most of the time replied to any queries promptly. The van was delivered to our home so it wasn’t a typical handover and the vehicle couldn’t be demonstrated but videos were sent which were helpful. The only query which couldn’t be answered but would be helpful is - what the speed limits are i.e. same as a car or whether it is reduced by 10mph on some roads.

Recently bought a Range Rover Evoque from Lookers during lockdown and was looking for a quick, hassle free experience having had problems with numerous cars recently from another dealership and eventually giving up on them. Great experience with VW Van Centre Fossway recently, the deal on our brand new T6.1 Kombi was done within 4 days. Great communication throughout from Kristian. We travelled 4.5hours to collect this vehicle! Everything was sorted before our arrival and we spent just 30mins there before heading back down south. We had a very warm welcome, all the staff were very friendly and knew who we were and how far we had travelled when we got there and were more than helpful to get us swiftly on our way again. I bought a new Transporter Kombi & got a fair price for my old part-ex (not VW). The Lookers group have some really crappy online reviews which is a bit off-putting, but the Van dealership at Fossway in Newcastle upon Tyne must be an exception!. Straightforward transaction, small problems solved (I wanted a proper spare wheel instead of the tyre repair kit, which was sorted immediately) and great all round service. Staff were really personable and professional.
