Had a really good experience at Kia Newport today. To be honest it's one of the first times I've gone into a car showroom and not felt swarmed by sales people. We'd had a good browse, including at other manufacturers and were delighted to be helped by Jason Williams. An Excellent service when purchasing my 2022 Kia Sorento, the only reason its not 5 Star Was the 9month wait. Wessex Kia in Newport is a great place to be. Firstly the staff are super friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you have the best car buying experience. Secondly I think that Kia cars are making some of the most exciting and quality vehicles around. Much better than the competition and their 7 year warranty is peace of mind. Jason Williams was my contact there along with Rhiannon and they were excellent every time we met/spoke. My particular purchase of a vehicle I wanted was a complicated affair in that KIA UK withdrew the car I wanted after the order was placed, but Jason and Rhiannon scoured the UK to make sure I could still get the car I wanted – and they succeeded! Even when I needed some after sales advice, I searched youtube for some instructions on how to change a certain setting and I was pleasantly surprised when the video that helped me was put up by Jason! Well done guys. I would say that even though the drinks are complimentary, the latte sucks 😊

Let me start by saying my car is now running fine since I got it back yesterday. However the sales and after sales process was far from smooth. The issues: 1. Wessex delivered the car while there was a massive balancing issue; as soon as you hit 60 the steering wheel started vibrating heavily, and it was pulling to the right. The initial delivery driver turned around so it could be fixed. But they did not fix it at all and the second delivery driver just dropped it off. The delivery driver could not have missed it while driving... 2. When the car was dropped off they forgot the spare keys. 3. When the car was dropped off they gave me their internal file. 4. I had to provide the same documents (proof of address, driving license) several times 5. After the car was dropped off they called me and said there was an issue with the finance company I had never heard off, it appeared they called the wrong customer... All in all it was just not the best experience, looking like they are far from well organized. I hope they will take this as an opportunity for improvement. As said, the car drives lovely now, just a shame they didn't all get it right. In the meantime the social care team asked me to contact them, sent through my details but I haven't heard back from them.

Great service. My Kia Sorrento went into "limp mode" and the engine malfunction light was flashing. Phoned Wessex Kia in a bit of a panic. Spoke to Kelly who put my mind at ease and said to bring it in. The technicians swiftly diagnosed the problem and a new part was ordered. Kelly phoned me with an update that same day. The part arrived and was replaced. Nicole then phoned to tell me that the car was fixed and was being washed. I picked my fully-functioning, gleaming car up an hour later. Excellent Service. Spied a great spec used Kia Soul on their website that was top of budget. The Soul had excellent photos (and even a video of it on a turntable) to justify the 50 miles to Newport. They also had a couple of other cars of interest as backup if the Soul had already been sold. Arrived on a Sat at 8.45am and the Soul was front and centre and exactly as described, good start. Welcomed by Ross from Sales and off on a test drive once my licence checked. Friendly guy was well informed across the Kia range, no pressure to buy - though to be fair I had done my homework and this Soul was the exact spec and colour I wanted with 5 yrs left on the magical Kia warranty. No PX as my Skoda Yeti been scrapped in the week so straightforward purchase. Offered loads of tea/coffee in huge airy showroom which has plenty of models to sit in if you need more help deciding which of the Kia models works best for you. Anyway, I wanted to drive home same morning which is possible after an hour's paperwork as Kia offer free 7 day fully comp drive home insurance with a £1K excess to get you home to sort out your own insurance. Ross explained all the options to me it's the sheer amount of financial paperwork he is required to go through and get me to sign that takes the time. Other customers at various stages of sale were waiting for Finance Mgrs to come available for checks/price haggling so I was glad to get through early. I did take out some extra bodywork cover and a service care plan as both were real 3yr moneysavers and hence "no brainers". Kia even helped me buy the road tax. And I left at 11.10am after Ross kindly run through the basic car checks and paired my phone to the Soul and found my fav radio channel for the journey back (despite a missing bee sting aerial which Ross has ordered and will post onto me). Even though I spent my entire budget (the repayments will hurt for a few years yet) I know I bought an absolute peach of a car which I hope will give me 5 yrs trouble-free driving. After rattling around in a 9 yr old Skoda it was sheer bliss driving a 2yr old Soul with only 4K mileage back over the Bridge. Best car sales experience of my life, my partner is already a Kia owner so I know the aftercare will also be superb. Totally recommend Kia and the Newport branch of Wessex Garages. Good job guys 5*.

On the day that I visited Kia Newport. as soon as I walked through the door, John smale approached me with a smile and introduced himself. He said “if there is anything you need then please let me know” After looking at the selection of cars I approached John and asked if it was possible to buy a Kia Sportage. He kindly asked if I would like to take a seat to talk about what type of trim and deal that would suit me. He also made an effort to keep my hydrated via the hot chocolate machine. After a chat about my financial position. John explained to me all the different deals that was on offer and how he thought the one we eventually chose would be the best for me. During the signing of all the paperwork Mr Smale made the process very clear by going through it all with a fine tooth Combe and making sure I understood everything. After the deal was done he asked if there was anything else that he could do and also if I needed anything not to hesitate to give him a call. He even made a joke or two which I thought was very amusing. We shook hands and I left with a big smile on my face knowing that John Smale had got me a great deal and a excellent car.
