Well I’ve had my previous car serviced at Northampton Motors and have always been greeted as a recognised customer. the decision to trade in for a new car took me a while, but eventually I decided to enquire about the possibility in February 2022. David Green guided me through some options without any pressure and was open to dialogue on the matter. On reaching the decision to proceed, I was introduced to Jack Ferrier who helped take down details of my order. He kept me informed with updates to the order as it was going to be some months before the car arrived. Anand Pandya, covering for Jack, gave me the news of a delivery date, I’ve spoken to Ananad previously in the past when considering a new purchase and Sasha Thomas who helped me when others were unavailable, did an inspection and good report on my old vehicle prior to it being valued.
The accessories I’d chosen back in February was confirmed and Hayden Francis had already placed the order, which seemed so efficient, I thought I’d need to place the order nearer the time the car was about to arrive, but it was sorted. Hayden and his service team with Hayley Valentine have always been welcoming and friendly.
Thanks to Lindsay Hudson for showing me options on the accessories and Zoe Richardson who dealt with any of administration.
I can’t fault the process and communication between all the staff who work seamlessly as a team. They’re like a family and as a customer you feel part of it, even after the sale has gone through.

When I enquired about this car we were pleasantly surprised that they were able to deliver it to Southampton. Living on the Isle of Wight this made our buying experience so much easier. Despite being the first day open following lockdown due to Covid19, the staff at this dealership were the epitome of professionalism and courtesy. Having never really been in the market for a 'grown-up' car, since all my vehicles have been old bangers, I was visiting Northampton Motors with more than a little trepidation.
In fact, I didn't really visit the first time, but simply cruised past, viewing the second-hand car I'd seen online from a safe distance.
No silver-tongued salesman was going to bedazzle me before I was ready.
This wasn't even a Mazda, but a Honda CRV. It had enough boot room for a dog, leg room for ever-growing teen offspring, a bit of welly thanks to the 2 litre engine and I could just about afford it.
First contact was with Jon, who could tell I was reluctant to be enticed into the shiny temptations of the showroom. We had a long conversation outside where he explained how car buying works these days (I'm very much out of practice) and I was briefly excited and mildly out-of-my depth when he got me to sit in a very beautiful, leather-seated, bells-and-whistles Mazda CX5. Too much for me, in this life at least.
I'd already arranged to test drive a new car elsewhere, but to cut an already long story shorter, it just didn't have any oompf.
So back I went another week later to Northampton Motors, cruising past again to see if the Honda was still there. You can't really stay incognito when the dealership is up a cul de sac, and Jon spotted me and said I really should test drive it, even just to rule it out.
Needless to say, I'm now its proud owner, even if it has taken me another week to work out how reverse cameras and sensors work (I still don't trust them).
The service I received from this garage was exceptional and Jon's colleague Ellis should be given an instant pay-rise for his tolerance of me and my 11-year-old daughter, who was placing bets with him about whether I'd pay the asking price. She'd staked a bar of chocolate on the outcome (while also rinsing him for complementary soft drinks while she waited). Sure enough when I collected the car a few days later, he produced a large bar of Galaxy for her.
A week after I bought it there was a minor issue with a warning light and the same day, Ellis had the CRV booked in for a check and I was offered a courtesy car. In incessant, driving rain, when I realised I couldn't park at work due the ANPR, Ellis gave me a lift to make sure I got there on time AND brought my car down when it was fixed. I really couldn't have asked for better customer service.
If you're like me, a little bewildered by car buying, suspicious of paying too much and worried about the aftercare, then start your car buying adventure at Northampton Motors at Riverside. There may even be chocolate up for grabs...

Big thanks to Ellis who was great and helped us from start to finish. We live around 2hrs away from Northampton so Ellis took lots of photos and a video for us so we could see any marks (although there are none!) on the car before making the journey up. In the end we couldn't find a suitable date to drive up to purchase the car so Ellis drove the car down to a local garage near us where we collected it from.

Visited local dealer in view of part exchanging my old car for a different make and model.
From walking through the door the staff were very attentive and followed the latest covid guidelines behind protective screens, with social distancing measures in place and hand sanitizer was made available to all customers. All staff were also wearing masks and gloves. Despite this difficult situation all staff were extremely helpful and knowledgable and provided an excellent level of support. Not pushy at all.
As a result I went for a test drive and was able to try the vehicle on my own in my own way. The salesman answered any questions I had on my return, very well and also new about the cars history and specification.
I was so impressed with the level of service I received, how the car handled and how it was presented for sale, including the price, I decided to go for it and purchase it straight away as did not want to miss out.
With all the necessary paperwork completed I picked up the car a couple of days later.
Well the whole process was outstanding.

I can't recommend Northampton Mazda and Ellis in particular enough. From the moment I arrived to see my new car on the forecourt to the moment I drove away happy, I felt valued as a customer.
No question was too much hassle and when I asked to test the car on both motorway conditions and country lanes to simulate my usual driving, Ellis was happy to direct me on a longer test drive.
I also traded in my existing car and the price they gave me was fair and the entire process pain free.
I visited two dealerships on this day and Northampton Mazda stood head and shoulders above the other for the quality of service and the quality of vehicle.

After purchasing my first Mazda last October, which I was given a very good deal on, Mazda Northampton have been helpful and professional whenever I have needed a service or been into the showroom.
In the early days of purchasing my car there was a warranty issue that resulted in it being worked on for three weeks. During that time they kept me up to date on the work being done, as well as not having no problem with me putting 1500 Miles on a 67 plate (new for the time) Mazda 2 with only 2k Miles on it.
I would say Northampton Motors Mazda has caring, helpful people working there and give them a good review.

Current car was serviced yesterday for the third year at Northampton Motors. Arrived 08.15, was out of there by 08.30 with a courtesy car. Service carried out well and courtesy car was returned 17.15. My car was clean and ready. Friendly service, only pounced on by a few sales people... Booking was easy, there was a call to check the appointment the day before, and nothing unexpected occurred. So a successful story I would say. I had several disasters in the past with Northampton Motors - with calls getting cut off, people never calling back... recent experience has been significantly better.

Bought a Mazda approved CX-5 from another dealer and after a week the passenger mirror stopped folding (a common problem I now know) . I called the selling dealer who couldn't get my car in for almost 4 weeks but a call to Northampton motors had it booked in within 8 days. The very next day the driver side mirror also packed in so I called again and asked if they could help and they said no problem and they'd do both at the same time of the original appointment. I was told when I dropped off the car it would be about 2.5 hours which was spot on when I recieved a call to say it was ready to collect, washed and vacuumed

Couple of clear points to make before I start this review.
First of all, the car is great!
Secondly, the customer service I received from 2 of the sales man after having some issues was spot on.
Simon, the Branch/General manager was FANTASTIC once my issue's finally made their way to his desk.
John, the second salesmen I had, was also just as good.
I do however have to state, that if your going to use this garage, you avoid a salesman named Stephen. To cut a long story short, nothing will get done - your best of asking the cleaner to help you!
The negative - it took me nearly a week to get an answer.
The positive - once Simon got involved with my issues the customer service I received was second to none! I cannot fault it at all!
They would of received 5 stars, IF everything went to plan the first time round.
People are quick to fault car dealers and post negative reviews on things like here.
To me, mistakes happen, its human nature. But what makes a good company is the way in which it's turned around. I can't fault this garage for that.

I was able to book my service and mot on the date I asked for.
I was offered a courtesy car which turned out to be a cx5,which I drive. I was really pleased with this as I need a big boot space for my job.
The chap that booked my car in was very pleased and friendly . He also helped me swap my work kit into the courtesy car
He asked me what time I would like my car back, and said he would ring me when it was ready. He did this as promised.
I also had a phone call earlier in the day to check with me a couple of small bits that needed doing..
I asked him if he could re- new my service plan for me as it was about to run out. He did this for me when I picked up my car. I have already had the New paperwork through to confirm this.
To top it all off my car had been washed when it was returned to me.

Was looking for a Volvo XC60 and found the right car with the right Spec and keen price at Northampton Motors. I was on a tight time schedule to get the car and fit a Towbar before my post lockdown holiday. I thought it was going to be impossible but Ellis at the dealership pulled out all the stops and made it happen. Initially my dad was looked after by Perry Jenner, "a very helpful man", a compliment my dad doesnt make lightly. My dad found a 66 plate MX5 he liked.
The following day we both went back so I could see the car. Perry had a day off, so Ellis Herbert looked after us. He was really helpful, took my dad out for a long test drive and then me separately as it was a two seater car.
Ellis telephoned Perry on his day off, so there was continuity from the day before.
No pressure at all, a good price on dads trade in, limitless coffee and biscuits, everyone was really friendly.

What a difference a year make.. After receiving notification of a safety recall I was dreading taking my vehicle back to Northampton motors. It was my first visit since i was quoted £600 for an extended diagnostic after I had already told them what the problem was. I eventually got it repaired for £65 somewhere else.
