My car was in for repair and I had 2 items replaced under warranty so no cost to myself and also the car was completed a day before it was agreed to be ready by. Purchased a Golf GTI Performance from here in 2018, and sold back to Murray VW in 2020. Staff seemed knowledgeable on the products they were selling. This makes a change from many main dealers. Top tip: always check the date of the PDI prior to purchase. My 2018 plate car was actually a couple of months older than the reg plate suggests. This can catch you out with regard to servicing on time.

Not very happy. We bought a new Golf 2.0 TDI BlueMotion here in 2013, which now, 8 years later, has only done 16,000 miles (my father hasn't driven it much in recent years). The hydraulic clutch failed this year, and Murray just charged 2,500 pounds to fix it (strangely it also needed a new flywheel) - and, despite a conversation with the service manager, they were unwilling to give us any concession on the cost, or help in any way in following up with VW. The same service manager even suggested that my father may have been at least partially responsible for the broken clutch (again, the car has only 16K miles on it), despite the fact that my father was a professional driver (lorries, buses, vans and more) for over 40 years. So not a good experience whatsoever, and our family will never buy VW again. Murray's, if you see this, and truly care, then feel free to follow up with me.

I am giving five star as on the day of my service, there was a police presence which shut down Murray VW and the staff were sent home. I was then called back the same day and they fitted me in for the original service which was fantastic. However, I ended up paying for a brake fluid change which I didn't know was not needed because this should have flagged up on the system as being done last year by another VW dealer. Overall, I'd be far more irritated if there wasn't so much more going on right now with covid etc.

Good showroom with a wide selection of new and used cars. The staff were knowledgeable and polite. Good space to entertain younger members of the family (Xbox and toys for younger children) meant that we were able to concentrate and make the right decision. The salesman was brilliant although I did turn up on a sunday near closing time, but he seemed to have all the time in the world. Excellent service. Paid a deposit to reserve the car. Came back the following day with my partner and decided it was the car for us. Paperwork all sorted. Agreed a date and time for collection. Just pure simple car buying start to finish! Car was prepared very well. Even though its 4 years old it felt as though I was buying brand new! Unfortunately I noticed a problem with the clutch after a couple days of owning the car. Contacted the salesman. He advised booking it with service department. Got me booked in as quick as possible, cars sorted, new clutch, absolutely fantastic. Cannot fault this dealership at all! I received excellent service. Sales Manager, Justin, gave me plenty of information to help me decide which model would be best for me, with no pressure to buy the dearer model. I walked in window shopping for a new car, and when I left I felt that I had joined a family. Lynsey was professional and personable, keeping me informed with the progress of my new car in weekly emails, so much so I now send her a Christmas card every year. From the friendly face that greets you at the car park, to the wonderful service when my car is in for its annual service, I'm more than satisfied with this wonderful garage. I especially like how I still see Lynsey's smiling face when she knows I'm coming in, even though my car is now 2 years old. I can see myself staying with this garage for the distant future.

Great experience... Having decided upon a vehicle and spec (Sharan SE), we contacted multiple dealers in the south of England for pricing via Car Wow. Lynsey at Murray VW came back very quickly with their offer which was the most competitive. Despite the dealership being over 4.5 hrs drive from where we live, the whole ordering and buying process was executed perfectly via email and phone. Lynsey kept us fully informed of progress and provided every possible assistance in answering questions we had in a friendly and efficient way, guiding us through the documentation and relevant financial elements. The team spent time to ensure every feature was explained and answered any further questions I had and gave me a call the following day to check if we needed any further help with operating the vehicle features. We didn't go into VW Murray to buy a Golf TDI Match but are we glad we did! The ambience of the showroom and friendliness of the staff was outstanding; as was the service we received from sales consultant Adam Dabbs, who was extremely knowledgeable, professional and helpful.. Following the test drive we were sold on the car. The performance was excellent and the new DSG automatic gearbox was so smooth. This car is full of the latest gadgetry, including reactive cruise control and an excellent parking sensor system. As far as price is concerned we got a really good deal and the car was collected on the very day it was promised. We especially liked the handover and unveiling ceremony which was conducted by Adam in such style. We are delighted with the handling and performance of the car and for a diesel it is amazingly quiet. All in all an excellent buy.

We recently decided to replace our 18 month old Kia Picanto with a VW Up. Have had poor customer experience with Murray on a previous visit so wasn't expecting great things, however had made an appointment with Jamie Watts who unfortunately was a little delayed but we were seen quite quickly & it was all quite friendly. Test car was available & Jamie came with us on quite a decent run, he was both friendly & knowledgeable without doing any pressure nonsense. We were a little undecided about final specification/price but Jamie kept his cool & displayed great patience, which as they say has its own reward.
