I interacted with Richard and how professionally I was dealt with is certainly worth a mention...not only were test drives adequately organised but Richard was always courteous and worked around my requirements and configured the vehicle I wanted. It was made very clear that I could opt out anytime and my deposit would be refunded back...I eventually could not buy the vehicle as the wait was far too long but the team were very nice and supportive and immediately arranged a refund...no questions asked...in fact I felt bad pulling out of the deal

Whilst I did not purchase the Discovery from Lancaster Land Rover Reading because they were slightly high on price, the quality of service I received last year from where I purchased it was extremely poor. So for this year I tried Lancaster Land Rover Reading and was delighted with the quality of service provided especially in these very extraodinary times. From arriving at their premises, through to service reception you could not have wished for more. The whole team were extremely courteous and could not have been more obliging.
With hindsight, and we can all be wise with hindsight, I made a big mistake in not purchasing the Discovery from Lancaster Land Rover Reading, a mistake I will not make a second time when it comes to replacing the Discovery.

I recently purchased a car with the help of Danny Garbutt and Rob McEwan. They were both helpful, honest and informative sales people. There were no pushy tactics which I experienced elsewhere. This was a positive experience. The showroom is large so everything was available to view. Please ask for Rob / Danny if you are visiting. I hope other showrooms learn from these guys! FYI - They were fully compliant with social distancing, hygiene etc!

I had an issue with the car. Nothing major but considering I am an hour away from Reading, not so easy to pop in. I called Danny Garbutt who dealt with it professionally with the help of the sales manager, James Grimes. There was none of this, please speak to the service department or I am too busy etc (this what I had at Audi!). The dealt with it there and then and even sent someone to my house to install what was required - SAME DAY.
I could have gone to five other dealers which are closer but I am glad I ended up with the team at Reading.
If you are thinking of buying a Land Rover - just go here. Don't bother going anywhere else.

Over the years I have visited many car dealerships and this is the first dealership where I have been made to feel so welcome and comfortable by everyone. I found the whole experience to be very enjoyable. Rory Staunton was the gentleman who looked after me and he was great. Rory listened to what I wanted, and didn’t want, he had all the answers to my questions and went out of his way to help me. I never felt like there was pressure to close a sale. It took me three visits before I finally put down a deposit on a vehicle and Rory was so helpful and understanding despite all my foibles. The whole experience was a real pleasure and culminated in me purchasing a car I really love. The day after I drove off in my new car Rory called to check everything was okay and whether he could help with everything. At the time I was considering staying with Aston Martin or moving to a Maserati Levante. With many things regarding the vehicles being equal, the difference was the attentiveness and empathy that Julie showed. She listened very well to all requests and followed-up promptly and politely. The car was booked in but then I received a phone call to confirm a different day. I turned up to find I wasn’t expected (even though the concierge chap had me on his list). I really had to push the issue to get a loan car there and then.
When the work was being done, I was kept informed (although it appeared to take a long time).
When my car came back, the work had been done which was great but the car has only partially been washed. The roof and windscreen had been missed and the roof was covered in bird poo. That’s acidic and wrecks the paint.
So overall, a very mixed experience.

When the car was returned to my home there was a visual health check in an envelope and it revealed that one of my vehicles tyres needed urgent replacement with a nail in the tread. No one told me about this and I think the Office should have telephoned me and offered to replace the tyre without returning the car. I have had to arrange locally for the tyre to be replaced as it
would have been dangerous to have driven the car in the state it was.

My only comment is the same one I have made numerous times. The telephone answering is woeful. You simply cannot get hold of people and it takes forever for the phone to be picked up. I regularly experience 10-12 minutes of ringing befores somebody answers. The excuse given is that they are constructing a new showroom. That DOES NOT restict telephone operative numbers, lines or client care. A shame because the servicing is good. Too long to wait for appointments, often over a month, but thats the popularity of the brand
