From start to finish incredibly professional and made me aware of every step in the process in a clear and succinct manner. Be warned when they say the collection driver could turn up at 7 in the morning he probably will. :-) however he was incredibly polite, professional and knowledgeable which made the whole process incredibly easy. The driver is an absolute credit to the company and deserves to be recognised (if not already) for his exemplary customer service. Payment arrived exactly when they said it would all in all if I have to dispose of another vehicle I will definitely use Silverlake

Such a great place, it's almost become a hobby coming here and picking parts! So handy and frankly quite fun to come down with some tools and a list to grab some parts. Slow service but ok - it took 3 weeks for them to remove the part we required and get it ready for us. However it was significantly cheaper than any other alternatives. When we went to pick it up everyone was extremely friendly and helpful.

So I had an old Vauxhall Astra it was still running and MOT. No longer needed as brought a bigger car. I got a quote from a very popular car buying company first before going on line and trying Silverlake. Their website was easy and simple just a few details to fill in and provided an instant quite which was much more than offered from other company. I left it for a day as I had to arrange for someone to drive me home after dropping it off. I received a call and they offered to collect my car for the same price. A date was booked and I asked for a call before so I could get it out the garage. They called and the collection man was very nice and friendly. I called 3 local vehicle scraping places and Silverlake offered me £75 more than the others. They were polite, and the money hit my account the same day as collection, no chasing up. They tried to collect a day early as the truck was passing and I hadn't got my act together, but the driver was courteous when my wife wasn't able to get the required paperwork (which is simple V5 and proof of address emailed to them so no contact necessary). When they did collect the next day, the driver was patient and understanding as my whole family took time saying goodbye to the family car, no rush. Great business, great employees, great price and I can't recommend highly enough. Thank you.

The bonnet catch on my vehicle was faulty. So I phoned Silver Lake to see if they had one. The lady I spoke with checked and said that they had one currently fitted to a vehicle and that they would remove it and have it ready for my collection the next day. She also offered me the option of having it posted for free which I took. It would arrive on Monday. But on Friday, I changed my mind and decided to go and collect it. They hadn't posted it yet and so I could collect it. Covid secure plans were in place there which was good to see. Staff there both on the phone and physically on site were very polite and friendly. I have since fitted the part and it works properly. I highly recommend Silverlake without any reservations.

The fantastic people at Silverlake supplied one for £80 (with an excellent returns option in case it was wrong) and I fitted the new mirror in half an hour. £400 saved mad my neighbours Christmas. It could be my imagination but I think silverlake has got expensive. Went in to remove a positive battery clamp, for ease I just cut the cables off so it still some fuses attached - £20! If I removed the fuses around £11 - the same as a brand new genuine Renault one, twice the cost of a non gen one. Make your own mind up!

It's great that you are able to go inside the yard yourself with your own tools and pick up what you need (only applies for the older models). Mixed feelings about this one, it is mostly a place you only need to contact them and schedule an appointment first. If you need a part, you check availability then wait for the staff to dismantle the vehicle and get the part for you, which can last days. Other than that, there is a small area with 'lower value vehicles' that you can enter and nab the part you need yourself. If you are after parts then this can cost you even more than online shopping. Recommended for a view though - you'll never know just what you may find!

You can find your car parts by online, however, there are many more car parts from scrap cars ready to unplug by yourself( if you know a little bit about car parts and how to unplug them), and it is cheaper. I only needed a decent part used tyre, so that I could drive to Italy and be 'tread legal' on all wheels and the spare. The service was first rate and surprisingly speedy for such a busy operation...obviously highly popular with so many customers. Amazing prices too...a tyre changed, replaced and refitted for £25!!! Spotlessly clean waiting area, hot and cold vending machines at below average cost...can of Coke 80p. Highly knowledgeable and friendly staff, free WiFi...and you need to check out their Harley Davidson motorcycle display...quite beautiful. Highly recommended.

I needed a tyre and rim for a honda jazz as it came without a spare wheel. I contacted Carlo and he got me a used alloy with tyre in very good condition for £70.00. Not only a good price but excellent service. The tyre was on the rim and ready waiting for me to collect.

Not all cars are “self service”for removal of parts. I’ve had some parts I needed but they didn’t want to do it even if I offered to pay for their time. Still a good selection. Check the website for what’s self/ not self service.

I visited this site to scrap my car after being offered nothing much from any of the major online sites. They have a friendly onsite team with a variety of desks to help with car scrapping, part picking and a tyre bay etc. Alternatively, if you know what you're looking for you can roam the scrap yard for the parts you need and you'll normally get a good deal when you leave. I have been back a few times since discovering this place and I've always found something useful.

Spoke to Luke Hoar over at silver lake to get some part soft my MK8 which had been vandalised and now needed replacing. After being ignored by the eBay side i was very happy as to how enthusiastic he was in dealing with my query. All parts sourced and at very reasonable prices as well. I would recommend Silverlake and Luke for anyones requirements. P.s. Guys change the hold music, its awful to keep hearing im on hold every 10 seconds ;)

Sadly 1 star for the self pick side of the business, the cars in the lot are mostly all stripped and have very little residual parts worth having and to top it off many components have been destroyed by either pickers or the vendor rendering them worthless, the salvage side is better for stripped parts, wheels and tyre selections are good and have a fast turn over. Roundly a 3 star review, quite disappointing.

Always very helpful when I message, call or pop in. Selection of cars are great and having some older cars that most scrapyards would just crush! Just a bit of an ask, please let us bikers have a small section for 'you pick it' on your motorcycles ;)
