I recently dealt with Matty at Arnold Clark in Stoke. I found Matty very professional, friendly and helpful. He really was a breath of fresh air to deal with, he has a relaxed demeanour which puts you at ease immediately. He was knowledgeable about the vehicle and it's spec, and was able to share hints and tips with me. Nothing was too much trouble for Matty, he really did go out of his way to answer every question and give me the best service he could. That service is by far the best of anyone I've previously purchased a vehicle from. Matty was also very diligent in keeping me up to date and he was quick to get the car sorted ready for me to pick up. He was a pleasure to deal with, if you're thinking of going down to Arnold Clark make sure to ask to speak to Matty. As a company, I also found Arnold Clark excellent to deal with. From securing the car with a refundable deposit, to preparing the car, to the deals they had on offer and the really streamlined process for purchasing the vehicle. Dealt with Matty to buy a Golf GTD, brilliant service from the whole of Arnold Clark from start to finish, especially Matty. Pulled out all the stops to ensure the car was in exceptional condition when i picked it up. Fixed everything that appeared in the 300 point inspection, touched up a couple of minor paint blemishes on the car and put new batteries in both the keys. Minor touches but made the whole process of getting a new car effortless and stress free. Would definitely consider buying my next car from there.

Sold Our Car To Them - Excellent Service We had a good valuation for our daughter's 19 plate car (she is at Sheffield Uni. so no longer needed it). It wasn't the highest offer - that was with We Buy Any Car but we were not even going to waste our time going there, because their reviews speak for themselves ! Would never support such a bunch of **. My advice is not to be tempted by WBAC over inflated offers or you will be disappointed - go with a reputable company that will treat you fairly and respectfully. Our car was in top condition and we had full service history etc. there was no tyre kicking and the offer we were initially given was honoured. Basically if you have been honest with the state of your car you should find the whole process very straight forward. We have sold to them before and had the same experience - that's why we went back - and will continue to recommend. If you don't want to be messed about this is the place to come. Full marks to manager Mark Thorley, the chap who dealt with us on the day, and his two trainees who were very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended if selling your car.

Bought a Ford Transit off of Matty, to say it was fantastic customer service would be an understatement. Great guy always ringing to keep me upto date on what was happening with the vehicle, he did his upmost even on his day off he contacted me to make sure I was happy. My experience with Arnold Clark has been both good and bad. Andy Russell who I eventually got moved to was fantastic. Kept me informed throughout. He seemed to take a genuine interest and really ensured I got the outcome I wanted. Aaron Gill who I was originally given to didn't contact me over three days and the receptionist even got bored of me phoning asking to speak to him. I wasn't overly bother as when I spoke to Andy he made the experience good and I would have rated 5 stars until I noticed that my rear washer wasn't working. This was 6 days ago. I spoke with Andy who said he would get the Jason in the service department to ring me but I've heard nothing. Andy checked to see if I'd had my call and remind Jason but still I've heard nothing. If you get the right person at Arnold Clark it'll be a good experience. If you don't get the right person well then you just won't hear from them. Such a shame as I love my car and would have been happy to recommend but the experience was tainted. I'm overall disappointed

Cannot recommend Arnold Clark enough. My cars have been from them for the last 12 years and I fortunately my last car was written off. I went with little idea what I wanted and Andy R was amazing and accommodated a number of test drives. Nothing was to much, we had to wait for the clearance from the insurance and he didnt 'pester' at all, like some sales do, but was always the end of the phone so we could update him as and when. Andy stayed late the day I was able to collect and was brilliant, the bodywork did a great job of a little bump and the car was pristine. Everything was explained, just couldn't recommend enough. Excellent service from all the staff at this branch. Prab took the time to go through all the options, arranged a test drive and explained all the paperwork clearly. The car was ready to go the same day so we chose to stay for the complimentary MOT to be carried out. The on-site café and waiting facilities are good and we had free hot and cold drinks and snacks whilst we waited. We were allowed to bring our well-behaved dog in on lead which was a great help and he loved the attention he got. The service centre staff were friendly and efficient and the car was ready, after a valet, as promised that afternoon. Very disappointed customer. I bought an MOT and servicing deal when the car was purchased and i trusted that i would be receiving a valid MOT and an adequate service from a huge organisation like this. I couldnt open the bonnet to top up my windscreen solution but i was booked in for MOT/service The next day. The car passed MOT but the windscreen bottle was still empty. The car should not have been passed. The service list claimed that the wheels were moved round, presumably for even wear. I have a slow puncture that requires topping up and i can do this. I anticipated that that tyre would have to be found and observed. I went to my usual petrol filling station and they often help with tyre checking. The assistant found ALL the tyres had different pressures. The front, drivers side tyre was 40. The rear, the usual slow puncture tyre was 18 as it was before servicing. The other tyres were 26 and 24. So the slow puncture was in exactly the same place. How come the tyre pressures were all over the place? This is post service and post MOT. There are issues here. There is no such thing as a special offer. I am not sure at all if a full service was done.... it was not free but an elderly woman is hardly going to be that aware of shortcomings and unlikely to challenge the garage. Big mistake was trusting. The most important issue is that the MOT was issued but it seems to me that it shouldnt have. This car failed on empty wiper bottle. What else has been missed? The DVLA are meant to oversee The MOT process. There are strict guidelines. So, i am in a bit of a spot. My annoyance wont go away but i am reluctant to face the garage and be patronised and as a female, what do i know? I could and should report them to Trading Standards who should be less condescending. So ladies, dont assume that you are getting what you pay for when you entrust your car to Arnold Clark. Shocking but true. The positive, and there has to be a positive, the car was valeted and a headlight bulb was replaced free of charge. Thank you. Going to decide what to do now.

I can't recommend Arnold Clark as a used car dealer following my recent experience, and would advise those dealing with them to be very cautious. They've demonstrated what I consider to be a lack of concern for their customers and a sole interest in profit. I recently purchased an '09 Ford Focus from them and, upon collection, spotted that, whilst the car was in their care, the windscreen had been chipped. They agreed to pay for the repair, but refused to replace the windscreen, compensate me for the damage and reduction in the value of the car or even apologise for the inconvenience. They were more interested in making excuses about when the damage was caused and stating that there was no documentation to prove that the car was not viewed and purchased with the damage in place (which it most certainly was not). Once they had my money, that was all they cared about. Returning the car will cost me as much if not more than the excess on an inevitable future claim to replace the damaged windscreen when the repair fails or is out of its guarantee period. I like the car, however dealing with Arnold Clark has left a bitter after taste.

What a great team at Arnold Clarke, just bought a Renault kadjar from them, went in looked around,and was very impressed with the prices and the quality of service they gave me, never once felt pressured, had a laugh and a joke with a few of them, got a nice cup of coffee off them, and ended up trading in my old car for a 16 plate 12000 miles spotless Renault kadjar, initially I was worried about getting finance, but got the best rate I've ever had, so surprised how low it was, amazed actually, I didn't do anything really, they organized the lot, showed me everything on the screen that they were doing, explained everything clearly and in full, nothing hidden, brilliant,after purchasing the car I was given the care kit and brand new mats,and a roadside safety kit, then was introduced to the car, by a lady who sat with me and explained all the controls, brilliant they were, they are even getting their mechanics to take of the tow bar off my old car for me as it was only three weeks old for no charge, what a breath of fresh air, unbelievable experience, I felt like a v.i.p during the whole experience, well done to you all, a great team, guess where I'm getting my next car from, shame there wasn't a 6 star option, thank you Dean x
