The place is really good, and the processes there are well maintained from the moment you hand the vehicle in, and updating the customer along the way. This time I gave it only 4 stars for two reasons, first a bit expensive to have a major service, adding in parts needs to be replaced and I ended up paying a good sum of earthly credits. Secondly the courtesy car and trustship, sounds weird right!!. I felt as a customer that the agent handling my car were asking me questions about the courtesy car and how I used it, She went out to check the petrol levels are the same as when she handed me the car in the morning. She got all the right don't get me wrong, but does it really matter if a customer drove the car back home consuming only £5 worth of petrol while spending nearly £1000 on a car service??. It didn't feel right when she did this, I have been with T L Darby over 5 years between service, MOT and fault fixing. First time to have such an experience..

Picked up my new Golf yesterday from T L Darby and I LOVE it! Simon and Lauren were in charge of me and my part exchange and were unbelievably helpful and friendly throughout the entire process. I viewed the car and was allowed to take it on a proper test drive, including A38 and through town to really get a good feel, Simon explained lots of its cool features as we went along. I was allowed to have look around the car in my own time with no pressure or nagging. The p/x process was very smooth and made me feel at ease that everything was cared for. Lauren was SO helpful and really good fun, which again, made me feel less nervous! Everything was explained and set up for me in a non rushed way. I was offered a coffee both of the times I went to the dealership and all of the staff were inviting and friendly. It’s a busy time for dealerships, and many places are showing the strain in their customer service, but TL Darby are consistently excellent. This is all down to their staff, who really outshine a lot of other dealerships. Chantelle in servicing is the nicest and most down to earth person I’ve met in the car industry. Her helpfulness and kindness makes the premium you pay for VW service worthwhile, and I’ll always come back to TL Darby as a direct result. Suzi who has sometimes looked after the front desk is also a real asset to the team, and is very welcoming and professional. They are super busy at the moment, so it can be hard to get in touch with the right person, and you’ll need to book well in advance if you need a courtesy car, but when I’ve had more pressing issues they’ve always fitted me in within a day or two.

We are not local to the garage, but any concerns we had about purchasing a vehicle remotely were quickly allayed with the service we received. Really good simple and extremely courteous experience from start to finish with both Adrian in Sales and Lauren in Aftersales. A couple of slight issues though (hence the 4 not 5 stars.) One with the interior protection solution I purchased as an extra, it was applied when the vehicle carpets were not cleaned after our test drive, (however Lauren sorted this and its been agreed T L Darby will rectify that, but it means another visit I would have preferred not to have !) Two number plate on rear of the car was wonky, a pet hate that I have just rectified myself! My emails were responded to by Nigel who advised the car had been sold subject to another buyers finance going through, but he would be in touch if for any reason it didn't. He responded quickly to let me know the finance had fallen through for the unfortunate other buyer. Good news for me, but slightly disappointed Nigel did not think to get back in touch at that point. They gave you time to think and consider and actually spend time with the car and were ready to help if needed. I travelled a distance to get to them and things ran very well indeed. Their after sales care was excellent also! As expected - I was aware of the additonal products that were on offer in buying a nearly new used car. They spent the time to explain them to you and I was not under any great pressure to take them. Very considerate. However, I would really recommend taking out their alloys and tyres insurance - came highly recommended from them - I had nearly decided not to take it - but with 19inch alloys and potholes on our UK roads I thought better for it! Had a screw embedded into the tyre when driving up to Newcastle later in the month! Everything sorted from the carcareplan people directly at Kwik-fit! Already nearly paid back for the cost of the cover... They are a great team - I would rate them very highly.

The whole thing from start to finish was handled by Josie. I cannot praise her enough, everything was carried out professionally with friendliness and going the extra mile, from sorting out a (nearly private) number plate, to sending me a video of the car and even getting me a sandwich and drink after a horrendous train journey up. I've been using TL Darby for years now. There's probably a good reason for that. Just taken receipt of a lovely new Tiguan which was arranged with the help of Nicola Holmes. The entire process was flawless. Nicola made it all entirely easy by being knowledgable, responsive, easy-going but entirely professional. The sales & service support has always been impeccable with TL Darby and even the showroom is pretty. I'm not sure I could ask for more of a car dealership (except for free cars).
