After making my first purchase here in 2012 I have never looked to go anywhere else. The quality of the customer service is second to none. I called in recently with my little boy to have a sneaky peak at our new car before it was due for handover. On arrival we were offered drinks, my boy was even given an apple from one of the ladies, which made him a happy boy!
After 5 cars bought from here I am yet to experience anything negative.
On the latest handover, all effort was made to keep our little boy engaged by the team (obviously paperwork isn't that exciting for a toddler) and they even handed the new keys to him, let him open it and sit in the drivers seat before anyone else.
Will most definitely be back!

Was worried about using a big garage but I have been very impressed - especially the extra years manufacturer warranty when you get it serviced by them.

I've always had my toyotas from here and ALWAYS get excellent service. Mark knows what I like and makes the whole thing so easy. My little one even got a toyota Teddy which made their day. I recently picked up my newest car from them and within hours had picked up some screws in the tyre whilst out and about. True to form, nothing was too much trouble and they soon had a tyre for me and I was back on the road in no time. I even got a lift to work whilst they sorted the repairs.
Truly a "customer comes first" dealership and cannot recommend them enough.

My husband and I recently (30th July) took delivery of a brand new C-HR.
I would like to give my feedback on the end to end experience at Toyota York as I feel it important to give credit where credit is due.
It was March when we first came into the showroom and met Chester who, from the very beginning, was extremely helpful, polite and professional (even when I asked "dumb" questions about wanting a manual gearbox Hybrid car and a sunroof).
We ordered the car after which Chester regularly kept us up to date with timeline etc.
We collected the car on the 30th July with Chester handling the handover even when we subsequently discovered it was his day off.. we very much appreciated this gesture..
This was the day we met Christine and Nash.
Christine brought us cups of tea whilst we were trying to sort out the actions we needed to do to have my personalised number plate taken off our old car..
Nash came to help explain the actions we needed to take..
Chester rang soon after taking delivery to ask whether everything was good and we were happy.
A few days after driving off the new VC5 document allowing the completion of the reallocation of my number plate arrived and I arranged a time/date to come to the dealership to swap plates...
Again the lovely Christine offered us refreshments whilst waiting for the plates to be swapped..such a lovely lady.
I would very, very happily recommend your dealership to friends and would like you to please pass on my thanks primarily to Chester, but also to Nash and Christine for their parts in making our experience such a pleasant one.

I have just purchased a new Toyota Yaris Cross from Vantage Toyota, York.
This is my second car purchased from this dealership. The vehicle has replaced my earlier Toyota Yaris which I purchased back in 2017.
The support received has been excellent from placing the initial order last year to taking delivery this March. Nothing was too much trouble and communication has been first class. The new Yaris Cross is comfortable and a pleasure to drive. It has so many useful features and is extremely economic, currently achieving over 60mpg.

Having waited since January, the vehicle was finally delivered in August (thanks to Brexit ,Covid and Putin), but the Yaris Cross Excel was well worth the wait. Well pleased with the service at Vantage Toyota, and the car itself, well equipped, well built and very comfortable.
My only reservation has been the user guides, 5 manuals, 1,109 pages in total, and I have found it difficult to read and locate the information I need.
Maybe that's the price to pay for such modern and sophisticated technology!

Brilliant service from Vantage.The clutch on my car went on the M1. Other garages were unable to help saying that it would take several weeks to replace the clutch due to delivery problems. Keith in the service department of Vantage obtained the necessary parts and then arranged for the job to be done 10 days sooner than any other garage in York and nearly £300 cheaper than the best alternative estimate. So, many thanks Keith and Vantage. I would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and family!

Matthew Dunne was most helpful in organising our purchase of a Yaris Cross - we collected the car on 15th March and he spent a long time in walking us through the dials and buttons on the new car.
We then drove to N Ireland via Stranraer in Scotland and enjoyed the trip very much - we are now back home, having travelled around 600 miles and used less than 50 litres of petrol (average MPG is curently 58).
Very pleased with the service and support we received from Matthew - he deserved 10 stars for his performance!

The vehicle was collected from our house and taken to the garage for its service, once done it was delivered back to the house. We find this a very useful service. The service department contacted us when the vehicle had been serviced to report that all was okay and detailed what had been carried out and answered any questions we had. I have been to this garage before with family and we keep coming back because of the amazing service. This was my first time buying a car on my own, including getting the car on finance, sorting out tax and insurance and moving from one car to a new one. From my first trip to vantage York I was helped my team member Nigel who was very supportive and gave me plenty of information. When I returned I was under the care of Miles. No job was too small and he really guided me through the whole process answering all my questions and making sure I understood what was happening every step of the way. The entire vantage team was welcoming and helpful, but I have to bring it back to Miles. Miles made us aware he was a newer team member but did his best at everything. When there was something he couldn’t do he got his manager with no problem and everything was sorted quickly and smoothly. I can’t fault Miles at all and would give him a 5 star rating.

There was a slight change in the vehicle I wanted due to an admin error, this was rectified quickly, and I was driving away in my new car 3 days after first contacting Vantage.

Once again Nigel Batchelor has exceeded expectations with my new car.
I have owned my Yaris Icon hybrid for one week and I am hooked.
The car feels more solid and coupled with the automatic gearbox feels a much better ride.
Before I purchased my car I researched the reviews on several websites and the only negative I could find where issues surrounding the noise.
The main engine noise is exactly the same as any petrol engine noise and I find the electric motor noise reassuring in that it is telling me that I am on the electric vehicle mode.
This is a seriously good small car and I am highly delighted with it.
Vantage Toyota have served me excellently on all the cars I have purchased from them.
I know I am going to enjoy and like this car and have every confidence in it.

Arrived 20 min early and luckily there was parking for COVID sanitation so they got the car early. I wasgreated by front of house and directed to the reception deck and signed in so work could be started.
Informed the service would take one and a half hours being a sunny day, I elected to stay safe and go outside for a walk and a little exercise arriving back an hour after to go and chat to front of house fora while then sit and wait for completion. On such a lovely day it would have been nice to wait outside and some seating would be a great improvement! By the time all was ready I must confess I was a little bored so I was happy to pay up and drive of.. so that’s it for a year if I choose to keep the vehicle!

Very poor service from Toyota. Dropped car off for service and MOT at 09:00. No communication about car being ready to pick up. Went to dealership at 16:30 and after waiting for half an hour was told that they had forgotten to do the MOT. Eventually got my car back at 17:45. Will go elsewhere next time.

I tried to purchase a new Corolla Hybrid through the Toyota website (it was the worst point in the Covid pandemic, so I was trying to minimize contact). It ended up being a complete mess and a horrible experience. Vantage Toyota weren't really involved until they got roped-in to do the valuation on my trade-in. Mark Taylor and his boss realized that things were going very badly pear-shaped and I was about to just walk away from the whole mess. Mark pulled out all of the stops and salvaged the situation. I ended up cancelling my original order with Toyota Online and re-started the ordering process with the dealership. It was a totally different and much better experience! Mark was always happy to keep me up to date. We even had a laugh or two along the way. I didn't feel I was being fobbed-off or spun a line. From start to finish it was an enjoyable buying experience... which it should be if you're forking out the money for a new car! After the mess caused by Toyota Online, I was fully fully prepared to walk away and look elsewhere, despite being a long-time Toyota buyer. Mark Taylor turned the mess around and made me feel like a valued customer. I wish just I'd just gone to the dealership in the first place. Lesson learned! And no, Mark didn't pay me to write this. He earned it!

I want to say how great Siobhan has been. She has been so professional and helpful throughout the process of trading in my old car and buying my new one. Siobhan's initial phone call came to me around the middle of August and I told her that I would be interested to learn what deal could be put together for me to change my car but that I had a lot of commitments for a few weeks and that I would get in touch with her when I had the time to do. She followed that conversation up with a very nice email which included both her email and mobile details and was true to her word that she would wait for me to contact her when I was ready. That is such a refreshing change from my previous experiences where I have been inundated with calls from a dealership.
By mid September I had arranged an appointment with Siobhan to talk about my options. Whilst I was probably an easy (I hope!) customer as I knew what I wanted in a new car, had done some research and was very happy with the Aygo so didn’t need it selling to me, Siobhan never put any pressure on me to add ‘extras’ and I left the showroom feeling that we had come to a very fair deal. What more could a customer want?!
Following on from ordering my new car to collecting it on Sunday Siobhan was so easy to contact via phone, text and email and responded so quickly to the few questions that I had. The way she presented my new car to me on such a grey, rainy day was so thoughtful and much appreciated.

My only niggle was I had reminders to book a service from Toyota UK as well as Vantage and the online booking was not as smooth as a phone call which I do normally.

While waiting for my car to be serviced, I felt very safe as the seats were more than two metres apart and customers and staff adhered to wearing face coverings.
The service department had also pre-warned me that I might be waiting longer than usual, as they would have to sanitise the car both before and after they had serviced it and so encouraged me to bring my own refreshments.
I was very grateful and relieved to have carried out a Service Plan with Vantage Toyota, when buying my car, as it made paying for the service and MOT so much easier as I work in one of the sectors that has been closed through each lockdown.

Nobody at the podium when I arrived, I could see a hand held temperature gun ready to take your temperature. Waited 5 minutes before someone arrived then I was checked in. I waited in reception for my car to be serviced and chairs were appropriately spaced for social distancing. There wasn’t always someone waiting at the entrance to take peoples temperatures as they kept disappearing so three people just walked straight in bypassing myself and others sat waiting, so that didn’t work very well. There were hot drinks available if you took it outside in the cold as masks were not to be removed whilst indoors, hand sanitiser was readily available and there was a one way system in and out even though people got confused and tried to get out at the entrance. Eventually my car was ready. They wouldn’t stamp the service booklet because of COVID and all the service info had to be emailed to you which I received very promptly, however on the hybrid pass certificate it had been signed twice, once being where the date should have been and the service sheet it self hadn’t been signed by the technician as it should have been. When I pointed this out in an email new amended sheets were emailed back promptly with an apology. I’ve always found the staff to be very pleasant, the show room to be clean and tidy and the car always gets a wash after it’s service which is very much appreciated. I have been a customer with vantage Toyota for many many years and I would recommend them for their customer service.

Impressed with the service when front brakes were needing replacing. Also spotted tyres which needed changing and did that too. However I was left waiting in the reception for over an hour after the car was ready as it had not been communicated between staff that I was waiting around for it to be ready. I had the front two tyres replaced on my 2018 Yaris Hybrid. The car had only completed 13,500 miles and the tyres, although good on the crown had worn heavily on the outer treads. This caused the car to 'sidestep' on full lock turns. This was brought to the attention of the service department when the car went in for service and we were told that this is quite normal on the Yaris. Everything was looked at and no fault found.
This 'sidestepping' is a bit alarming if you don't know what it is and having to change the tyres after that low mileage is disappointing. Since this only happens at full lock positions surely it would indicate that the steering is over extended at these positions? Because there is little or nothing that the garage technicians can do then the specifications are questionable. Yes, the Yaris can turn tightly but if the steering can't take the turn without sidestepping something must be amiss in the design specifications.
This does not reflect on the ability of Vantage technical departments who have looked after our cars for many years now and always given help and good service but it says a lot about running costs and design and should be addressed by Toyota.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all about my experience with Vantage Toyota York. It started with a telephone call a week last Wednesday, the sales person who answered my call was Tom. I’d seen a car that I was interested in and told Tom this, I didn’t want to leave a deposit to secure it, Tom advised me that the car could be sold. I made an appointment to go on the Saturday, Tom actually called me Thursday to say the car had been sold. In the meantime my husband saw another car, which he thought we should look at. So Saturday we set off for Vantage Toyota York. On arrival this car had also been sold so we had a look around and found another car that I was interested in. Tom was amazing, but my husband wanted a better deal, this is where Tom asked his boss Nash to intervene. Nash fortunately came up with the goods and a little more. So having signed on the dotted line I collected my new Yaris yesterday. Because both Tom and Nash went one step over to help us I have decided to take my insurance out with Toyota (although a little dearer) one good turn deserves another. Purchased a two year old Kia Sorento that had been traded in against a Toyota. York is a three hour train journey from Ipswich so I was reliant on accurate information about the history of the car and the condition, as described by my sales contact Iain. I prefer to go North for cars, the pricing is realistic and the people genuine and friendly. The service I received was excellent, questions answered promptly and precisely. On collection day, Iain had missed a tiny imperfection that was very difficult to spot, on the edge of a door just before the plastic door trim. Not sure how the previous owner managed to catch this. They wanted to fix this at their end but the logistics of travelling back home and then a return journey at a later date was too time consuming. After a discussion with Matt (a manager), the solution was to get this fixed locally for me with Vantage paying the bill. Vantage Toyota York have an average 4.5 Star rating on Google, it’s easy to understand why. They more than deserve my 5 Stars!

We found our my new (3 year old) Toyota Rav 4 via the internet, but did wonder if it was total madness buying and then collecting a car from a dealer some 300 miles from home!!! Having dealt with Toyota for many years ( since 1978) and having only purchased Toyota vehicles in the intervening years our expectations of Toyota as a brand has always been high. We have had various models including a Corona 1900, a Cressida, numerous Camrys, several Avensis, 2 Prius and we have just purchased our 3rd Yaris Hybrid (69 plate) The service we experienced throughout the whole process was nothing short of exceptional from both Malcolm and Nash. We took delivery of the vehicle on my husband’s birthday and Malcolm came in on his weekend off to personally deal with it. All the staff I met were pleasant but especially Nash the salesman who took me through the whole process of trading in my old car and purchasing my new (used) car. I discovered a couple of stains in the car subsequent to purchase and returned to see Nash who arranged to have them removed immediately. I made the trip to York today to purchase a very lightly used Aygo. I’m from Wolverhampton, so it’s a bit of a jaunt, but I didn’t need my passport.
When I arrived, Mark Taylor had already made me a cappuccino (with chocolate dusting). I was gagging for a cup of caffeine, so it was most welcome.
The paperwork was completed really quickly, and Mark didn’t try to sell me anything I didn’t need, which was great because I didn’t have any money left.
Once I’d signed everything required of me, Mark presented me with a little bamboo box with my name on it. I thought he was proposing to me. I thought, “Steady on, we’ve only just met”. Turns out it’s how Vantage York give you your keys. I was thrilled to accept.
I asked Mark for a giant pack of biscuits for my little boy, and he found some. If you wanted a biscuit with your brew, bad luck; I’ve got them all.
I went to the car to find a new little pal named Issho. He was lovingly strapped into the passenger seat (though he is significantly below the height and weight the government says children must be before they can travel in a car without a carseat).
At the Wolverhampton dealership, they’re very lovely, are really helpful, and make plenty of coffees. It’s what keeps me going back to Toyota. However, the York dealership just had little extras that made the buying process much less painful.
I really love my new car. Here are some pros and cons of the whole experience:
Pros:
Like driving around in a giant purple mouse.
Salesman loves Manic Street Preachers.
Car colour matches my work uniform.
Spare wheel, rather than inflation kit, so no need for a City and Guilds in mechanical maintenance in the event of a puncture.
Cons:
Colour clashes with my blue hair: will have to re-dye.
Privacy glass means tailgaters can’t see me flipping them the bird.
Son thinks the biscuits are amazing, so when he’s eaten them all, I will have to buy a new car.
Issho is another mouth to feed, and yet he won’t touch anything I give him.
