Bruce is an amazing campervan, same like the owner (Linzi & James)🥰🥰. I had booked it for my road trip in Scotland for 7 days 6 nights. It was comfortable, as it was well equipped with all the amenities such as fridge, gas cooker, cooking/kitchen appliances, bed and foldable chair.
It is easy to use and convert it as day use and night use campervan; during day time we use it as dining area, during night time we will use it as our comfy bedroom.
We really enjoy with Bruce, we drive along the scenery route and stopby everywhere for short break and make coffee enjoy the view.
James and Linzi are both very attentive to our queries and promptly response to us. Both Linzi and James are very lovely person, they know that this is my birthday trip, they had prepared one basket of the food and drink ask well as Birthday Wishes card. This is so lovely, I felt so warm and happy with their action 🥰🥰
Prior to commencement of the journey, Linzi and James had communicate well with us for all the arrangement.
Personally, I will highly recommend everyone to book this camlervan with them. Rest assured they are very responsive and responsible owner whose will give assurance to you.
Thanks again James and Linzi for your great hospitality 🤝🤝🤝💯💯💯

We had an AMAZING experience renting Heidi the campervan through Linzi and James. Our hosts were incredibly attentive to details and genuinely kind that we felt so taken care of throughout the whole experience. We used Heidi for a 7 day road trip up to Skye and back and were impressed with how comfortable and equipped this campervan was. We cannot brag about the experience enough and would highly recommend booking through this company to anyone interested. 1000/10 stars!

We rented Bruce for a week and we had an amazing vacation. so here is also a very positive review
hospitality ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐5/5
We were kindly picked up at the station by the owner to which we went to the van. Coffee and Tea were offered and some Scottish snacks. It was so nice we almost forgot we were coming for the van. We got a lot of tips were we surely need to go, and they were really interested in us.
After that we went to the van and everything was explained great. And if anything extra was needed, this was taken care of right away. If you missed something or had questions, Linzi and James were always available on the phone. Didn't matter what you came with. Never met such friendly people.
utilities ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
everything you can get extra with bruce works great.
everything was clean and worked properly, and Linzy and James allready had the cabinets filled with the household items you need like garbage bags, cleaning wipes and stuff like that. So you won't have to buy full packages yourself. Also a few snacks to eat and even the refrigerator was filled with some beers. also a reason why hospitality is 5 stars.
Van ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
The van itself looks great, a nice retro look. It's not the most luxurious van you can have, but that's what makes it so great. You will enjoy more of what there is to see in this beautiful country. But you can fit everything you need in the back, it has more space than you think and a lot of cabinets where you can store your stuff. also the kitchen works really great, did some nice cooking in there. The display on the dashboard was really handy to navigate and listen to your own music. And the built in outlets are great to have to charge your devices.
Driving⭐⭐⭐⭐4/5
We drove around with Bruce for a week, and it was so cool. The old way of driving is so fun, instead of all luxery vehicles nowadays.
The van is not made for speed and that is a good thing. because you don't want to drive to hard in this beautiful country. You drive through the whole country without haste, and without any problems because Bruce can handle all roads with ease. And that with four tall grown boys in it. You only need te be prepared for irritated drivers behind you because you will be driving a lot slower than the speed limit
Sleeping 4/5
Just that you know, our height is 190cm. And we slept great in Bruce. But we recommend you sleep with 1 person on each bed. One on the bottem and one at the top. The rest slept in tents wich is fine if you don't mind sleeping outside.
We had a fantastic week and will recommend it to everyone, and for that we would like to thank Linzi and James very much

We were picked up at Croy train station to be taken to the home of Bruce. The owners are very nice and friendly. We were welcomed with a cup of coffee or tea with Scottish treats. And then everything about Bruce was briefly explained. The campervan is equipped with all kinds of useful things: camping chairs, gas burners, a mini fridge, kitchen utensils, cleaning equipment but also (Scottish) snacks and some beer. You can also opt for an awning and bed linen. I would definitely recommend Bruce!

We hired out Heidi for a 7 day trip to Isle of Skye and Arisaig. It was one of the best things we’ve ever done and the camper van was definitely one of the main reasons for that. Heidi was great to drive considering the vintage qualities of it and had everything we needed. It had a fridge, gas hob, fold out bed, a sink and even pots, pans, plates and cutlery.
The owners of Caledonian trails,Linzi and James were brilliant from start to finish. They were really flexible for picking up and drop off times, especially with them just returning from there wedding a day or 2 before. They were very welcoming upon our arrival to pick up Heidi and were surprised to see that they had prepared a hamper with sweets, popcorn, beers and some Prosecco :) which was a really nice gesture. They were available and helpful throughout the trip for any queries that we had but we never ran into any problems and things ran as smoothly as they could’ve gone.
Majority of the trip we done a mixture of parking up and wild camping and camping at a campsite as well. We slept very comfortably each night and had a good amount of space. The leisure battery for the fridge and sockets always worked perfectly which was good for keeping our food fresh.
Was the Best experience and I 100% recommended anyone thinking about doing it
Thanks again

Me and my girlfriend were thinking earlier in the year that we'd love to explore Scotland, having only really visited Glasgow and Edinburgh in the past; and so that birthed the idea of a full-on Scottish roadtrip - up to Inverness, North Coast 500, Isle of Skye, Fort William (for Ben Nevis of course), Oban, Loch Lomond, then back home. With our route planned, we began searching online for classic VW campervan hires, and soon came across Caledonian Trails - and of course, the beautiful pale-blue VW T2 known as "Bruce". We instantly knew this campervan was "the one", and so we booked Bruce for our 8-day adventure!
Bruce was an absolutely great choice for us. A camper with real character, he was an absolute pleasure to drive. With being such a classic vehicle, Bruce sure has his own quirks, but you soon develop a technique to drive him and that's all part of the charm and driving experience - and we loved every second of it!
Bruce is unbelievably well-equipped for his size, with everything you need from a great SatNav and radio/Bluetooth system in the cabin; to full washing, cooking, seating and sleeping facilities in the rear, complete with a small fridge, plates, pots, pans, cutlery etc.
Overall, an absolute pleasure and great great experience with Bruce that we'll never forget - a real bucket-list item now ticked off!
Finally, a big thank you to James and Linzi who were a pleasure from start to finish, and such genuinely nice people. They were so accommodating and even made up a hamper for us when we first collected Bruce, which was a lovely touch that we weren't expecting. Thanks again!

We rented Heidi for a 10-day tour around the NC500 and had an absolutely fabulous time. Heidi was fun to drive and took good care of us.
In the camper we slept comfortably every night. It was also convenient to cook, enough space to eat and watch a movie on the iPad.
Linzi and James who run Caledonian trails were super supportive and always available if anything came up (it didn't) or if we had any questions during the trip (we had a few lol). They personalised the experience by preparing a not-so-little treat for my birthday. Much appreciated!
Overall taking a 10-day trip in Heidi and having those stunning views around the NC500 was an amazing and unforgettable experience. My partner and I can highly recommend it!

From start to finish Linzi and James were 1st class. Heidi though was even better, like a proper old lady she was never In a hurry but it made our time celebrating my 40th even more special. Our trip took us from Edinburgh to the banks of Loch lomond and onto Arisaig and she took it all in her stride. Thank you Heidi for making us some fantastic family memories we will never forget. lots of love. Kev, Michelle, Axelle and Niamh. June 2021.

Had a great week driving Heidi around the Highlands and the North Coast of Scotland. James and Linzi went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Bruce was very fun to drive and Linzi and James were always on hand to answer any questions. The inside of the camper is so comfortable and cute. We had a great couple of days driving around beaches and camping in the central belt.

We had the best trip of our lives driving Bruce around the NC500 in June this year for our honeymoon. Linzi and James were fantastic and went out of there way to ensure we had a great time. They even included a lovely hamper full of goodies for us to enjoy and really made our honeymoon special. Bruce has his quirks but this only added to the fun and James was on hand whenever we needed him. We cant wait to get booked up again!

Three of us hired campervan Bruce for our trip in May on the NC500. Linzi and James were available at any time to help with anything during the trip! We had fantastic communication and felt very welcomed when collecting/dropping off Bruce. We were very comfortable, and didn't struggle at all on the road - would definitely recommend, and if we get the chance would rent again - thank you one million times !!!

The van was gorgeous and super comfortable, and we started the trip with a really lovely hamper provided, with goodies for everyone including the dog! We had a great break, and Linzi and James were brilliant hosts.

I have wanted to go on a VW Campervan adventure for as long as I can remember so my lovely wife booked Bruce from Caledonian Trails for my son and I for a mid-week break. We thought long and hard about where to go and eventually opted for the north west coast of Scotland. We had the time of our lives! Bruce’s interior has been updated to a high standard and had everything we needed for our trip. Granted there was no power steering, ABS or aircon but the sheer pleasure of driving came flooding back to me and I had a smile on my face for four days straight. There are two good sized beds and plenty of headroom with the roof awning up (we are both over 6’ tall). I’m sure Bruce is part campervan and part Tardis as every square inch of storage space was packed with things we needed, including pots, pans, cutlery and crockery…… along with things we had no idea we needed like a gazebo, privacy shades and camping seats.
Jim and Linzi were fantastic hosts – a genuinely caring couple, great communication throughout and very kindly provided us with a hamper full of lovely treats for our trip.
Thanks for a wonderful experience guys,
Stephen and David
