We had a fantastic trip to the Cairngorms with with a VW campervan rented from Mountain Campervans.
The van was really comfortable and practically brand new. It's also very easy to drive and a great size for some of the narrow rural roads you inevitably end up on whilst exploring the Highlands.
We spent a few nights off grid using the battery (and the heating, occasionally!) and a few nights in camp sites with electrical hookups. It's a brilliant way to travel and let's you stay in remote spots you'd never get to otherwise.
The booking process was straightforward and communications with Richard were great throughout. Highly recommended!

Had a brilliant experience hiring with Mountain Campervans. Richard was super helpful accommodating my last minute booking and was full of really useful touring tips. The van was fabulous and helped make my Hebridean tour a trip I’ll never forget.

Fantastic experience with this company. We weren’t experienced in using a campervan at all, but Ricky made sure we were 100% comfortable knowing everything before we set off.
Our camper was incredibly comfortable, even for a light sleeper. We had a terrific week (even with patchy weather, lol!) and are looking forward to hiring again.
Highly recommended +++

Took the van round the North Coast 500 in Scotland in April and had a great trip. Was able to stay over in different places without worrying about booking into campsites every night because the van is functional offgrid without the need for a campsite hookup opening up where i could stay. There are USB charging ports to charge your phone which work without plugging into a campsite. The grill works off the gas tank and there's diesel heating, which came in very useful considering I travelled early April so was pretty cold at night so you have all you need. The only thing you can't use offgrid is the plug sockets in the back really but I didn't have anything requiring that. As someone who had never used a campervan before, I was a bit apprehensive but Richard made it clear how everything worked so my trip went without a hitch! I stayed at a campsite every couple of days to freshen up and the plug in was easy to do. One point of note, when packing your clothes, be mindful that there's not space to store a suitcase in the van! A backpack or even a plastic bag with your clothes would be better so you can unpack what you need into the multiple storage spaces without extra baggage to store. Since then ive taken the van for a trip to Aviemore aswell for a few days and would definately use Mountain Campervans again.

Very clear communication when I was enquiring and the pick up location just outside Glasgow suited me. My deposit was returned quickly after the camper van was returned and the condition of the one we hired was absolutely brand new. Will use again next summer.

Couldn’t recommend enough. Had it for almost a week going up around the West Coast. Easy driving and comfortable set up.
What was most enjoyable was that it let us get off the beaten track and stay in some truly stunning spots. It felt like there wasn’t another soul for miles. It was absolutely beautiful. Thanks to Mountain Campervans for all their help!

Comfortable, clean, and all mod cons. Perfect for exploring the highlands of Scotland.
