Tom made some cupboards and shelving for our alcoves and some kitchen shelves. He also boxed in some wiring. We got a few quotes and Tom was the most thoughtful about the design. He's very good at explaining how things will work, listening and suggesting ideas. We can't speak highly enough of Tom or his work. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Tom did an excellent job with our built-in wardrobe. It was built to our exact specs, and within the allocated time and budget. He's been great at spotting potential issue with the weight of the hanging doors and reinforcing the joists above while keeping in mind the potential loft extension to come. Communication was great throughout the build as I wasn't on site at the time. I can't recommend him enough!

Tom was recommended to us by someone else who had used his services as we were looking for some bespoke storage on both sides of our chimney breast. Despite a fairly clear idea of what we wanted to achieve, we gave Tom what was probably the most vague instruction of what we were after. Tom talked us through some details, took some measurements and went away to do some work before the installation. The installation was speedy and Tom checked details with us through the process to make sure we were happy. Tom also tidied up when he left to what might be a higher standard than we've ever done ourselves - it was spotless! The end result far surpassed what we hoped could be achieved and we are so, so happy with the outcome. I could not recommend Tom highly enough. The short version of this review - if you are thinking about getting Tom to do some work, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed!!

Tom, who fitted alcove cupboards & shelving for me in February '22, is recommended in the strongest terms. From the beginning he was responsive, knowledgeable and professional. He offered guidance but also listened to what was wanted. Tom built two alcove units and shelves for us, as well as rehanging a door. From the start, Tom's communication was great and quickly came around to view the job. He listened to what we wanted and talked us through options. We had to time this work around a larger building project and Tom was flexible in timings which really helped. His work is brilliant. Tom has done two pieces of work for us, and we are totally delighted with the results. He designed and built a bespoke kitchen island unit which has really transformed the look and practicality of the room. He also renovated and repaired our large Victorian front door, and rebuilt a porch screen to blend in with the existing architectural features. Tom is a meticulous and talented carpenter, and a really nice man who listens carefully to what you want to achieve. We will certainly be using him again, and really recommend his work and attention to detail.

I requested a bespoke bathroom design from Tom, bath and shower panels, bath tray and LVT flooring to replace an old and dated plastic bathroom. Tom helped me chose the right colours and designs for the space keeping in mind the look I was after. Tom arrived on time and completed the work quickly and efficiently making sure all the little details were taken care of. He left the space in a good state so I could still be at home during the work. I’m really happy with the quality of the woodwork and the total transformation this has given the space. The work was excellent value for the craftsmanship and meant I could change the space without having a whole new bathroom which was out of my budget.

Tom is an extremely skilled carpenter and joiner. He has completed a range of work on my house over the years, from 1st and 2nd fix carpentry to bespoke kitchen units and cupboards. He's utterly reliable, fast, hard working, has a good eye for design and takes real pride in his work. Blacks Carpentry created a bespoke house sign for us. The process was fuss free, Tom immediately understood what we wanted and provided us with various size and font options. He kept us up to date with progress pictures which was helpful. We are extremely pleased with result, a testimony of Tom’s skill and attention to detail. Many of our neighbours have been impressed.
