We chose Kevin and Gordon as the lead contractors for our project to convert a Victorian guesthouse to a family home. This involved moving several walls, creating new bathrooms, repairing a significant leak in the roof and the damage caused, replacing several windows and creating a new kitchen. Kevin managed the co-ordination of plumbers, electricians, stonemasons, plasterers, decorators and bespoke cabinetry - all seamlessly. We couldn’t be happier with their support in planning the project, the very high quality of their work and their great communication. Kevin and Gordon, with Kieran, were great partners in the project and took infinite care to get everything just right. We would recommend them without hesitation. * Their quote was highly detailed and accurate, the end bill itemised, and it was very clear where jobs had been more or less complicated than expected. * They supported us through planning and design of new room and bathroom layout, a completely new kitchen and walk in wardrobe. Our work didn’t need planning permission or building warrants, so all the layouts were done between ourselves and Kevin & Gordon. Now we are living in the house, everything has worked out just right. * Outstanding attention to detail and a very high quality finish. The main bathroom was created out of an en suite and a shower room, which had existing wood cladding matching other window linings throughout the house. Kevin & Gordon took the time to remove, label and re-fit the original cladding - it’s now not possible to see what has changed! * Created a bespoke walk in wardrobe to fit the space - all made in the workshop off site, fitted perfectly and lovely finish once painted. * Great communication - we were always kept fully informed about progress, issues and who was going to be on site and when. * Very respectful of the site - the house was even turned over to us cleaned and hoovered.

I used GD Gray for previous work on our roof, as that was an excellent job decided to ask them to replace two shower units. Kevin was as professional and courteous as ever and completed the work to a great standard, leaving a tidy worksite every day. Would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future.

Gordon and Kevin recently built a garage, erected a porch and constructed two panels on the front of our house - all made of larch. We are absolutely delighted with their work. Their attention to detail was remarkable and the quality of their workmanship could not be bettered. Their relaxed professionalism – no fuss, no panic, everything done well, as it should be – and their easy manner made the whole project a pleasure. Throughout, they ensured that we were happy with what was being done and their questions helped us sharpen our thoughts. And at the end of each day, the work site was left clean, neat and tidy. This was the first time that we have used G D Gray Joiners & Builders and right at the outset we were impressed with their prompt response, particularly as the problem was a leaking roof. Kevin is friendly, courteous and professional with high standards and excellent attention to detail. We found him to be reliable and a tidy worker who kept us informed during the work. Kevin replaced the roof of our summerhouse with an EPDM membrane and apprpriate edgings. The work was carried out in 1 day and the result is very good . Everything was tidied up at the end of the job. Conditions were not ideal as very hot weather posed problems but Kevin took care of these. Initially I thought his estimate seemed high but found out that the price of materials is escalating in current circumstances. He gave us a rebate for part of the estimated work not required and I consider the result good value for money and an easy experience. Sorry I'm not there to take a picture at time of posting this.

Kevin, of GD Gray has recently carried out 2 projects at my property in Duthil. The first was to build a shed to rather precise requirements. He was meticulous in the planning and execution. He was able to translate my often unclear instructions into a perfect end product. The quality of workmanship is unparalleled, and he at all times kept me up to date with progress. Secondly he was able to rescue me when some water pipes burst, causing a good deal of internal damage. One phone call was enough for him to spring into action, doing all that was required to restore the property. He was able to coordinate other trades. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for what he did. I can recommend him without reservation

When fifteen years ago we asked Gordon if he could undertake, in Nethy Bridge, a new build house for us, so busy were G.D. Gray at the time that he had to decline. Why were we disappointed? Arguably the family firm is one of the very best builders in the district and just too many people knew it. This time round and with 'young' Kevin very much leading the project, the firm has completed a small but challenging conversion with dedication to task, maintaining all high standards of build quality, of well keeping the client in the picture, responding to changes, advising on others that might benefit us and meticulous record keeping and billing. Kevin & Gordon modeled, to perfection, a standard of bringing on an apprentice with the result that exceedingly good work was done and one lucky lad given the chance to show what he can do.
