Tom and his colleagues built a fitted cabinet and floating shelves into a dining room alcove. Following the initial enquiry Tom gave us a broad range of material options and talked us through the benefits and give budget prices for each option to help us make an informed choice. We found Tom to be competitive when compared to other local suppliers, but his main appeal was the time he took to talk to us to gain an understanding of our specific requirements from the view of design as well as budget. Tom was able to work with our bespoke layout requirements and took site measurements to verify dimensions. Tom uses a web based portal that allowed us to view 3D images of the detailed design giving us an opportunity to comment at each stage so that the final design was precisely in line with our requirements. Tom's fitters were polite, clean, trustworthy and efficient. We're very pleased with the end product and we would certainly recommend Tom to anyone else.

Tom and his team helped us design new cabinetry and desks for a large study we had taken back to new plaster. Excellent communication, (both in person and through his client portal), service and product. Definitely an eye for detail and he and his team clearly love their craft. All the cabinets were made and assembled in his workshop, then fitted on site. The work was done to an excellent standard and I would definitely recommend him and his team.

I have had the pleasure of working with Tom Maxwell on several occasions but this is the latest media unit Tom designed and built for my client. The work he did was superb and our meetings with the myself and my client were both concise and easy to understand especially for the client. Tom has gone above and beyond to create a bespoke bench and storage unit for our kitchen. Tom was patient with us throughout the process, despite all our adjustments and changes, instead he reassured us there to take our time and that it was necessary to get the right design. We never felt rushed to make decisions and Tom gave us honest advice to ensure we got the best design we could. Tom visited us a number of times at home to go through designs, wood styles etc which was brilliant and we really felt the benefit of having in person discussions. Tom was meticulous at ensuring the design matched the rest of our kitchen. Tom turned one of our living rooms into a library by building extensive floor-to-ceiling bookcases along one large wall and two substantial alcoves. We cannot fault his work. The service has been impeccable from start to finish. Tom has not missed any details in either the planning, the building or the installation. He has made many practical suggestions that we have not thought of ourselves, making the end result more beautiful and easy to use. He accounted for our lifestyle and our needs carefully in his plans to create a product that we ultimately will be able to use comfortably for many many years to come. Tom was also very good at resolving any problematic aspects of the building. He was entirely transparent with his pricing. We had detailed discussions of the costs of various parts of the library, he helped us identify cheaper options and stay within our budget. The building itself was a clean process where pre-assembled bookcases were delivered and installed in a relatively short time. The end result is a beautiful library that fits very well with the overall spirit of our house and where our books, records and music equipment can live very comfortably. It was a pleasure to work with Tom.

Tom made some fitted wardrobes for us in summer 2018. Although my ideas were slightly vague, he was able to translate them into a beautiful pair or wardrobes that perfectly complement the room they’re in. We sought a lot of quotes before committing and Tom was the only joiner who I really felt Got what we wanted. He was extremely flexible about sizing (funny-sized house) which was a welcome relief from other companies who wanted us to have standard sizing regardless of how it would look in the space. We wanted access through the wardrobe to an en suite and he was able to work well and collaborate with the bathroom fitter to deliver a really good-looking high quality product. I tend to think any job where different teams have to work together have a high risk of going wrong, but this was absolutely no issue here. I would have absolutely no hesitation in getting Tom and his team to do similar work for us again, and would always recommend him to others. We are delighted with the high quality craftsmanship that has gone into the wardrobes and with beautiful design that we get to use every day!

Tom Maxwell has recently made me a beautiful slatted oak bed and a fabulous glass topped oak coffee table I couldn't be more pleased with both items, they are of exceptional quality, the craftsmanship is next to non, he got them made for me in the time he quoted which is a bonus, he is an amazing craftsman I wouldn't highly recommend him to anyone who wants a first class job doing. He is also a lovely man who is very approachable and listens to what you say and works with you to create exactly what you want.
