Chris did an excellent job to renovate my flat. He removed the old wood floor and put in new flooring with skirting. He also removed the old shelving and installed a new wardrobe with sliding doors. Lastly he replaced the old noisy bathroom fan with a new one. His work was of high quality and done efficiently. I’m very happy with the new look of my flat and will recommend him to my friends.

Chris and his colleague have helped us lots of times recently, first chris fixed our oven which was broken and this was a difficult job which he did excellently. Then he helped us improve a bad situation with black mould on all our walls by replacing all the window vents to make better circulation and also replacing the bathroom fan which had stopped working. His colleague fixed a wood panel for under our sink and also underneath the dishwasher which was really helpful too. Each time they have both been kind and helpful and Chris always makes sure he can fit the job in as soon as he can, he has offered us very good value for the money and we would highly recommend him and would ask him again for any jobs we need - thank you so much Chris for your help!

Chris came to do a number of tasks around my flat (fixing a light fitting, dripping tap, new flooring and shelves in cupboards, new air vent etc). Pros Work done swiftly Accurate quote Easy to find a time that worked for me I spotted that the dripping tap hasn't been fixed first time and Chris came and resolved the issue quickly. Cons The first time we'd agreed to meet for a quote Chris didn't arrive before I had to leave the house (about an hour after the agreed time) but the second slot we chose worked and he was prompt doing the work.

I had a very good experience using SMK to renovate my flat. I had a new kitchen fitted, walls knocked down, painting, electrics and new flooring done through out. The work was reasonably priced and I felt confident that I wasn’t being over charged, or encouraged to do more work than I should - which I have felt pressured to do by other companies. A mixed experience for me. Hired on the basis of Google Reviews to make good with mortar and paint around front door surround and side wall that had begun to crack and retain water. Chris has a friendly manner, was quick to respond by email and keen to find a solution to a problem, and was flexible getting an urgent exterior job done in wet weather. His price transparency on the website was somewhat undermined by turning up with a colleague that doubled the cost, yet I'd consider it a solo job and I didn't often (ever?) see them both at work at the same time. Some issues with tidiness, as he sanded back the old paint and plaster with the front door open, which left the corridor and rooms nearby clouded with fine dust. In all, workmanship and communications style were good, but the costing and care wasn't on point.

I have used SMK on a number of occasions for various jobs in my flat in Hackney and I have always been happy with the result. They always turn up on time and do a professional job without cutting any corners. SMK did an excellent job of redecorating an ensuite bathroom. They were particularly good when it came to neatly cutting and laying down marble tiling to fit around the constraints of the room. Their painting service is always professional and reliable and I have used it many times. SMK also recently did a very good job of deep cleaning/dusting the flat and washing the carpets.
