Extremely good attention to detail and quality in Judith's wheels - she's built several for me and my 2 sons who race on them every week and they've been true all season. I'm saving up for one of Sam's frames which combine beautiful, classic craftsmanship with the most up to date features

Amazing service, would highly recommend. Bought a set of road disc wheels which have been excellent. Judith was incredibly knowledgeable/helpful and went out of her way to source what I wanted in light of Covid supply chain issues. Buy with confidence!!

New road disc wheelset
Just wanted to say thank you to Judith for your work earlier this summer making my wheels. I’ve put a lot of kms on the wheels and they’re brilliant. I did 200 kms in the wind and they were so stable given the horrible conditions. The 28s on these roll so well and the wheels get up to speed easily and hold it. 10/10 for product and 10/10 for customer service.

Judith is a spoke genius. I recently purchased a standard Stayer wheelset and they're absolutely fantastic. Fantastic service, and it was obvious from Judith's initial correspondence that she really knows her stuff. A first set of carbon wheels can be a daunting prospect so having a set built by somebody with such skill makes all the difference.
I've really put the wheels through their paces in the last couple of weeks (including in the rain!) and they're holding up incredibly well! Very happy customer. My go to wheel-builder for my next build, without a doubt.

Had a great experience with Stayer cycles recently. They built me a custom set of 60mm deep carbon aero wheels to my exact specification. Hope RS4 hubs in silver to finish off my Cannondale SystemSix custom build. Judith from Stayer was in contact with me via email all throughout the process and was very helpful. Was nice to invest money in a quality product from a British brand!

I definitely recommend it! I was there for 3 times already, each time the service was great and fast. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I was there once for a check up, another time for adding gears to my bike. The last time they fixed my mud guard within 2 minutes for free. My boyfriend had done some maintenance at stayers cycles, too, as we are both commuting to work by bike. He is very happy with the service as well. We are glad to have such a nice bike shop around the corner Leytonstone!

Had a wheelset built by Judith a while ago now. Looked and rode amazingly well. Recommended and superb comms and service. Wheelbuild quality immaculate.

Big fan of Stayer cycles. Very personal friendly owners, great advice and the bike servicing is tip top. Had a new bike built up after the mechanic found a crack. The new one is perfect.

Amazing quality, the carbon wheels been my only set of wheels for training and racing for almost a year and they have been incredible. The service from ordering to aftercare is also like nowehere else, it’s fantastic.

I am an amateur cyclist and I do not have any links at all with anyone in the cycling business.
Having owned a carbon fibre tri bike for the past 5 years, I decided that it was time to upgrade to some aero wheels. I particularly wanted good value for money. I’m not good enough for it to be worth spending vast sums, however, neither did I wish to spend money only for there to be no difference.
Having researched extensively, I was aware that many cheaper options use a ‘V’ shape which aren’t so good in cross winds. So I had set my sights on the toroidal type shape. I also became aware that many big named manufacturers lagged behind on their designs compared to the latest designs that offered better aerodynamics for both speed and cross wind stability.
It was by chance that I came across Stayer Cycles. They appeared to be exactly what I was after. I wasn’t sure at first, but upon speaking to the wheel builder Judith, I was left with the impression that these hand built wheels are built by someone who knows exactly what they are doing and filled me with confidence.
The wheels duly arrived when promised, very well packaged and first impression was that they were well built and looked fantastic.
My previous wheels were shallow rims with 23mm tyres. These new carbon rims were 50mm front, 60mm rear, subsequently fitted with 25 mm tyres. Even with larger tyres, deep rims and longer valves, this new combination was 340g lighter.
Over the following few weeks I concluded that I was definitely quicker on these new wheels. I was consistently quicker on my 18 mile commutes to and from work. Also I noticed that the wind noise on my helmet was consistently louder indicating that my speed was generally quicker than previously. I was particularly impressed with how stable they remained in cross winds. Even in very blustery conditions I have not had any issues at all. A testament to the design of these deep rims. Also the bike overall just feels nicer to ride. I can’t describe why, but the wheels just make the feel of the bike better.
Only time will tell ultimately how robust the wheels are. However I have just completed an Ironman race with them. The cycle leg did not go as planned to say the least. I unfortunately picked up 2 punctures, but with only one spare tube had a dilemma with about 35 miles to go. I decided to try and finish the bike leg with a flat front tyre, irrespective of whether I would need to return to Stayer Cycles to get a new rim. I managed to cycle the next 20 miles with a completely flat tyre, including taking in speed bumps and cobbled streets, that was until I crashed on a slippery corner. Luckily after the crash, someone gave me a new inner tube and I continued the last 15 miles with a fully functioning bike. I really put some effort in for this last 15 miles and wow was I flying!
After the race I fully examined the wheels, expecting that I would need to contact Judith to at least get some repair work done. To my surprise the rims remained true and in perfect condition, unlike the tyre that was completely wrecked.
I am so glad that I came across Stayer Cycles and would highly recommend them to anyone.
