Slavin In The Kitchen catered my daughter's baby shower. The food was delicious, fresh, generous portions, and reasonable cost. Deidre stayed in touch, came on time, set everything up and made it all so easy. I'll definitely be using them again.

Deirdre and her team were so great to work with that we immediately booked and planned another event because we know for certain it will be seamless and wonderful as long as we can book Slavin in the Kitchen to cater for us. From planning, through the amazing event itself with delicious food and amazing service, all the way to the spotless clean up by her team, Deirdre made it impossibly and dangerously easy to host our event of about 40 adults and 20 kids. We received so many compliments on the food and staff and truly, she made hosting a not-insignificant amount of people in our home as easy as could be - highly, highly recommend!!

Deirdre is everything you could want in a caterer. She is easy to work with, efficient, personable, and most importantly her food is delicious. She will work with you on any dietary restrictions and will build menus to tailor the type of event you're having. She catered our Groton Business Association dinner yesterday evening and everyone was raving about how good everything tasted. Deirdre works very hard, which is evident in her quality of services!

We had Deirdre cater both our wedding (140 people) and rehearsal dinner (20 people). Both events were in a barn that did not have a commercial kitchen. To start, we were very impressed by her ability to cater such a delicious meal for 150 people without a kitchen on site. I did not have a lot of food preferences to start so I asked her to help create a fall menu for both the rehearsal and reception. We did a menu tasting of the items she suggested and it was all incredible! Needless to say we didn’t change a thing (my favorite was the pinot noir reduction salmon, cannellini cakes, and pumpkin soup in hollowed out sugar pumpkins). I also thought the pricing very was fair and everyone had great things to say about the food, wait staff, and the bartenders. So far –five stars. What gives Deirdre and her team an above and beyond six stars in my book is their ability to manage the event and manage hiccups. Cheryl was the event manager for our events – she was fabulous. We had a rustic furniture vendor not show up (lovely, I know) and Slavin’ in the Kitchen adapted on the fly by rearranging some items and calmly sourced a couple critical furniture pieces from their rental vendor (a’hem, a bar – pretty important) to make the event still run flawlessly. Every time I saw Deirdre or Cheryl at the event, I immediately felt a nice sense of calm because I just knew they were on it and I didn’t need to worry about a thing. I highly recommend Deirdre and her team at Slavin’ in the Kitchen for any size or type of event.

Extremely Competent and Talented. Delicious food. Impeccable professionalism. Very Reasonable Pricing Expertise in the field is immediately evident. Upon our first call, I knew Deirdre was highly capable of handling our event. Her years of experience have made her confident in her execution - which made me as a client secure and calm that Slavin in the Kitchen would handle our event as anticipated and without incident. This particular event that we hired Deirdre for was a very personal one - a “Celebration of Life” gathering at our home after my Mother-in-law’s passing. I desired a very specific passed hors d’oeuvres menu to honor my Mother-in-law to include her favorite foods. Deirdre didn’t blink. She was completely amicable with creating offerings that are not typically on her appetizer menu. She made excellent suggestions and designed special hors d’oeuvres just for our memorial. We certainly didn’t provide her with the best working conditions - and she didn’t even shrug! I requested that she work out of our garage so that guests could have full use of our kitchen. She did so flawlessly and to boot - when she left, you would have never even known she was there! I would have been happy to rent cooking equipment for her to use, but as an added bonus - she had it all in her inventory and brought it with her. Our guests were swooning over her cuisine! I received MANY compliments on how delicious folks found her cooking to be. Guests even took her name and number so that they may hire Slavin in the Kitchen for future events. I am still dreaming about the Curried Chicken Tartlets and the Masala Chai!! SO TASTY!! I need to note how lovely and professional her Serving staff were as well! As an Event Planner, I’ve experienced that even if the Chef is professional and capable - the crew they bring to serve isn’t always as fabulous. That was certainly not true of Slavin in the Kitchen’s Servers. The two ladies were courteous, crisp, polite and gracious. They knew the tone of the event and were overwhelmingly sensitive to our family and guests. I was delighted with how our event was handled by Slavin in the Kitchen. I've hired Slavin in the Kitchen for a few special occasions. Most recently they provided catering services for my oldest son's HS Graduation Party in the summer of 2016. Selecting the food was easy and the pricing is reasonable. The food was delivered on time and my guests were buzzing about the food even weeks later!
