Reviews of Banke's Kitchen
R. K.
My first time trying Nigerian food and I was really impressed! The spicy goat meat for starters was absolutely delicious as was the jollof rice and rice designer with assorted meat. Good variety of meat offered here too, and some vegetarian options. Staff here was so lovely, the service was swift and can't complain about the price!

Food is authentic, home-made, cooked with warmth and tastes absolutely delicious. Lovely service and hospitality. Outside of home and my Mother's cooking, this is easily the best West African cuisine I have ever eaten. If you eat here you, will not be disappointed.

I’m from JA. So and never learned to cook The dishes from my mother land. However when I ate at this restaurant I now crave the food. I will be back like TODAY. Thank you to the wonderful staff ❤️

Ordered the special fried rice, which said £4 on the menu. Was charged £11 (including a can of coke) for mostly rice and two prices of beef... I hope they made a mistake and this isn't the normal price...

Lovely tasting moin moin, good texture. Jollof rice - (A+) Puff Puff a bit too sweet though. Reasonably good service overall.

African restaurant with an homely touch

Service was prompt and the staff were readily available to cater to your needs. Food taste really good and there is a whole variety to choose from. Will definitely recommend.

I generally like the food i mostly get the soup dishes with pounded yam and Their meat is not tuff i hate fighting with my food
and the flavours ate are great,
the portions sizes are not great tho for the soups if your a big eater you may need to buy double or at least get few things but to be honest the prices are low
Customers service can be hit or miss, i hate that the young servers have so much attitude or they are trying to hit on you
Reviews that food is terrible or inedible is untrue ive been coming here for years. Its not the best food you will taste ever in life but its good, the place is clean and comfortable no frills
A. K.
The jollof rice with chicken and plantain was really rice, the chicken is a bit on hard side but it's tastes very organic.

Staff are friendly, food is inexpensive. Best amala in London
Gets rowdy in the evening

Traditional Nigerian food is hit and miss when it comes to restaurants in London. This is absolutely a hit with perfectly seasoned meals, not heavy on the salt and not overbearing on the spiciness (comfortable and enjoyable heat not overpowering). The choice of meat proteins too are fantastic. Will order again definitely. I just wish it was slightly cheaper and the pounded yam was traditional not the flour kind. But those are just nitpicks with an otherwise great restaurant.

Taste of home and feels like home , loved the food and atmosphere

This restaurant has beautiful food like moi moi and pounded yam , jollofff rice too, Mmmm. Wonderful. Even puff puff. And you can eat there too , once the locked down is over with the covid- 19. Yes wonderful and delicious.

Good food. Would prefer if they reduce the oil in the stew but other than that, it's a good place to eat in or takeout
M. H.
I got the pounded yam, gberi, ewedu/mild stew, all the flavours were delicious. So much flavour! I also love Gulder and palm wine so if you're looking for that, this is your place. The ladies working there were lovely! It's a fun vibe in there too.

I tell you what I have never eaten inside Banke's Kitchen and don't plan to. However, Banke's Kitchen are excellent if you are looking for authentic Nigerian food to take home. Actually I have used them before for ordering catering for a family event and man o man their food was excellent. I will definitely use them again. Their Eforiro is one of the best you can find in London. One thing I really liked was when I used them for catering they gave us real pounded yam, which tasted great, not that fake powder rubbish. I'd highly recommend them if you are looking for a good reliable caterer of Nigerian food.

This is one of a few authentic African resturant you can come and have traditional meals or snacks suck as puff puff. They also have one of the best pepper soup here to eat if you love pepper and soup, you can listern to a wide choice of music and or watch a big screen tv of your favorite sports or music. It feels like home away from home.
