Shimla catered for my wedding and I have nothing but praise for their excellent service. From booking to planning and then the event itself, I had nothing but professionalism from shimla. Rik was my contact and he went above and beyond to ensure the even went smoothly, including liaising with the venue, planning the day as well as timings, and ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day. And of course, the food was absolutely delicious - all my guests complimented the food highly and requested second and third helpings. I would highly recommend Shimla for any and all events! Recently had Shimla foods for my wedding & reception off the back of a number of previous experiences/recommendations. Ash delivered all his promises in relation to the service Shimla provide, and spent plenty of time working with us in the build up to the wedding with food tasting, itinerary's and floor plans for the day. Where do i start with Shimla's ( Ash) they were amazing from my initial query, food tasting to the main day. They were highly resposive, very accommodating and throughout the covid phase they were absolute amazing and so supportive. After booking them in 2019, they kept in touch throughout 2020, and up to the wedding date on 24 july 2021. They interactions with family the guests and food... OMG.... it was so delicious, we recieved so many compliments on the food and each dish.. Highly recommend for all events.. they are professional, approachable with such a friendly, supportive service and in my opinion the best caterer in the industry and trust me we tried many before booking shimlas.

Where do I start with Shimla foods. The team delivered exceptional food at each of our events and the guests are still raving about it! Ash and Rik have a real attention to detail and pride themselves on building long term relationships with their clients. They also have great relationships with other providers and our wedding day ran smoothly thanks to their synergistic working. We had to reschedule our wedding and reception due to the pandemic and the team were brilliant in suppporting our new dates and nothing was to much for them. Shimla did the food for our wedding and WOW the food was amazing. everyone was so impressed. Myself and my Husband are from different cultures and were initially worried about how we would cater for both but Shimla did a perfect job at making it spicy and tasty enough for our Indian guest without being too hot and over powering for our English guests. everyone was so impressed with the menu on the day and not one single person went hungry, in fact there was sooo much food more than enough for seconds and thirds. Rick was so helpful in the lead up to the wedding and nothing was too much trouble for him, he was on hand to answer all the crazy bride questions I had and made me feel at ease the whole way through. I am so happy that we chose Shimla for our event and would not be contacting anyone else in the future for any other events, our family and friends have also taken their number and I am 100% sure we will be seeing them again at events in the future. Rick and Ash from Shimla catered for our wedding. Like many others, we were forced to change dates on 3 occasions. Rick and Ash were simply exceptional offering a friendly and exemplary service from the outset, exceeding our expectations. Throughout the date changes and changes to the number of guests, Rick offered a personal service ensuring everything was considered to make sure our big day would be the day we hoped and dreamed of for so long. Rick maintained regular contact and kept us updated on plans before the wedding. He also liaised directly with the venue ensuring all requirements were met so the day ran as smoothly as possible. On the wedding day, Rick, Ash and the Shimla team operated to a high level. Their service was seamless. From the way they arrived, set up, distributed the food, cleaned up to the way they interacted with our guests. Every member of the Shimla team was professional and courteous throughout. As for the food . . . My mouth is watering just thinking about it. It’s a shame the day was over in a flash as I would love to eat more of their amazing food again. To this day, there is never a mention about the wedding that doesn’t include how amazing their food tasted. Our wedding was a mixed heritage wedding and Shimla catered to everyone’s pallet, factoring in spice and taste accordingly. It was a truly bespoke service and we could not have asked for more. A lot of the guests had never tried a number of the items of the menu. I can say with confidence and pride, every dish served went down very well. The recommendations and advice made by Rick were spot on. I would highly recommend Shimla and the team to cater for any event again in the future. It was a pleasure dealing with them throughout and at no stage was the service anything less than impeccable. Trying to plan a wedding through a pandemic is a nightmare but even with 6 wedding date changes, venue and menu changes Nothing was too much to ask for from Ash. We had quick response for every new date, every step of the way making our planning so much easier! We are so glad that we had Shimla Foods as our caterers for our wedding reception. From the first time we sampled their food at the Hive, we were so impressed by the quality, we wanted to eat more! After having to reschedule our reception twice, we were so happy to finally be able to enjoy their food. One thing people always remember about a wedding is the food, and everyone who attended our event ate very well, and couldn’t praise the food enough! With a number of our guests having various dietary requirements too, Shimla were also very accommodating in being able to tweak our menu so that everyone was able to eat and enjoy the food. We’re so grateful at how accommodating you’ve been throughout the whole planning process, and you took all stress away from us, whilst giving such helpful tips and advice along the way so we could finally have the reception we’d been waiting and dreaming about for so long. Shimla is a MUST for catering, absolutely nothing was too much of an ask, they made sure the whole day went smoothly not to mention the food was SUBLIME!!!!!!! If we could sum up Shimla Foods in one word, it would simply be 'wow'. From the service, to the standards, to the communication and of course, the delicious food, we couldn't ask for more from Ash and his team. They are just sensational at what they do and on the day we needed them to deliver, they did that and some more. Ash is one of the most friendliest guys we have met. He's patient, understanding and in Covid-19 times, very accommodating. During the wedding day they were constantly at our beck and call, but even more so for our guests too. We continued to receive so many positive comments throughout the day for the catering from our guests, and are still doing so today several days after! The wedding lunch full of traditional classics didn't disappoint, service was quick and the waiting staff were always readily available and polite. For the evening, the food - lamb kebabs, butter chicken, aloo chaat, fish pakoras, mogo chips, naan, rice, lamb curry - was just sensational. Even throughout the evening Ash was regularly asking how we were and if we needed anything. Top class service, hugely recommend this wonderful company for any event and we personally can't wait to have their food again!!

We chose Shimla foods for all four of our wedding events and they did not disappoint. Since we had to choose our caterers during covid, we were unable to taste the food prior to booking however we trusted the recommendation and we are so glad that we did. Rik looked after us right from the start and throughout the uncertain covid period, he guided us and was always there, giving us different options of how we could plan our events. Luckily we were able to postpone our wedding to a date that Rik was available and the rest was plain sailing. The food was amazing and complimented by so many (especially the Indian Wedding lunch). Food was the most important part of our wedding. We asked Shimla Foods to go an extra mile and make our favourite foods such as Chinese, Mexican, chicken and chips, burgers and Indian street food. All these were served within there own food stall. The chef was also happy to discuss the food with us at our food tasting. Rik and Ash were friendly, approachable and very professional. Ordered from Shimla's pop up stall in Potters Bar a few times now and must say that it is one of the best chaats and curries that we have had. We have particularly enjoyed samosa chaat, papdi chaat and bhel. Also chana bhatura and paneer tilka masala were outstanding. Their gajar halwa which I am glad that they have repeated in menu this week, is heavenly eaten warm with a scoop of ice cream. Overall amazing value for money, great quantity and great service. order via text and order ready for collection promptly.. love the variety every week and look forward to trying new dishes.

Our first and last appointment to find a catering company for our big day. As most couples once you get engaged the copious vendor related searches begin and appointments get booked. Both being foodies, we knew the catering was the most important aspect of the wedding. We asked friends and family for suggestions for catering companies and “SHIMLA” was a name that was mentioned often as well as people’s bidding and enthusiastic opinions about the service. And now I understand why so many people raved on about Shimlas food and service! We booked an appointment and went to see Ash. From our very first appointment we could see not only a supplier but a friend in him. Ash is genuinely lovely and gets to know you personally. We had a laugh getting to know him and from that very first impression we both discussed that we would most likely be going with him - baring in mind we hadn’t even tried their food. But in our meeting with Ash we saw he had a passion for food as well as a passion to deliver great customer service and we were immediately entrusting of him. The process was simple. We met for an initial meeting. We met to try the food. We discussed the prices and we booked. Unlike other aspects of our wedding which were stressful and had a lot of back and fourth, we found this was the most simplest decision and easiest booking. The food on the day was better then I remembered it to be from the tasting. As my guests waited in anticipated for our big arrival to the wedding reception, I hurriedly scoffed my plate of starters in the bridal room. Actually I also scoffed my husbands plate too! We made a call to ash telling him we were in the bridal suite and we were starving and within minutes we had hot and divine food delivered to us as well as some drinks! He managed the event on the day and made sure it ran smoothly. Not only did we book a caterer but we also got an event manager included in Ash! For those new couples who may have taken the time to read this review, I just want to give you some advice. The lead up to my wedding was stressful but as you read in the novels, your wedding is the best day of your life. When you are booking vendors go with someone you trust and get on with. I found that Ash genuine. Shimlas prices are reasonable for the quantity of food and service they provide and it’s all worth it when all of your guests keep complimenting how amazing the food was, how much fun they had at your wedding etc. Go and see Ash and you won’t be disappointed in him or his ability to deliver! Ash and Rik are great at what they do! Ash - Thank you so much for all of your help throughout the wedding. You were definitely our favourite person to work with! From all of our weird and wacky conversations at our meetings to the efficiency in your service. Keep doing what you are doing and we wish you all the best in your business and future!
