We worked with Poppy Caterers for our wedding, and the food, service and attention to detail was amazing. Val and Katie were very attune and sensitive to our needs (and requests). Constant conversations kept the food and organisation planning in check and made the build up and wedding day easy, comfortable and delectable. Katie was brilliant ensuring that the day ran smoothly. Val and Katie had a thorough understanding of weddings, venues and tastes! We cannot ask for more! Will always keep Poppy Catering in mind, and recommend them for any event you need!

Where to start really! Poppy’s have been amazing with us from the get go. Their staff were a credit to the company, I couldn’t of asked for a better catering experience for our wedding, they blended into the back ground but were super attentive and always kept the food flowing, making sure every single guest went home with full bellies. The actual food was unreal, we went with a selection of starters, meat platter for mains and a trio of deserts they knocked it out of the park! If we ever need a catering company again I will not hesitate to get in contact with Val again! Unbelievable food 10/10

Poppy Catering & Marquees made our wedding happen. Living in London but choosing to get married at Newburgh Priory in Coxwold we needed a company we could trust entirely to ensure our planning would be as stress free as possible. Poppy were truly brilliant from start to finish. After our initial meeting we were entirely convinced they could give us the wedding we were envisaging without compromising on quality and staying within budget. The entire staff are glorious, always so helpful and ‘no’ doesn’t seem to be a word in their vocabulary. Simon is a total perfectionist and has amazing attention to detail that really makes you feel everything is under control, with each detail of the day considered. On the day Kate ran the show with military precision and was a total delight. The serving staff were friendly and professional and were attentive with guests without being pushy. We had numerous guests write to us after the wedding to say how beautiful the marquee was and that it suited the venue perfectly. We also had many compliments on the food, the pizza and chips during the evening were firm favourites. If you are looking for a company that will listen to your ideas and vision for your wedding and then do everything in their power to deliver it, Poppy are the people for you. We were given the name of Poppy Catering by Hayley Owen Funeral Services and I am so glad they did. Val and her staff made it so easy at a very difficult time. Helpful suggestions and sorting out anything was never too much. And the main thing was the food was excellent - everyone at the tea afterwards in the Pritchett Chapel said how wonderful it had all been. We ordered the Celebration Menu for a family get together and the food was amazing. Brilliant choice of starters that were all great (we had some of each) and the main course (champagne chicken) was amazing. As for the desert - the only issue was managing to eat it all ! Everything is nicely packaged with cooking instructions on each package. Overall excellent food, generous portion sizes, tasted fantastic and it was all delivered to the house - I'd thoroughly recommend Poppy's and we will certainly be using them again.

We don’t have the words nor eloquence to thank Val and Simon for making Liz’s Celebrations such a success! From dealing with Val in selecting a menu (the pulled pork buns were such a brilliant suggestion) through to the punctuality, setting up, service to our guests and the superb quality and quantity of food, everting was 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and beyond!! Katie, Georgina and Harriet were Professionals personified and I could not have wished for more. Their smiles and friendliness shone out and ALL our guests have commented and praised them. I was hugely impressed by Simon, Val and their team at Poppy Catering. They provided an amazing buffet for me at very short notice. Everything was carefully prepared, exceptionally tasty and beautifully presented. Every guest commented how delicious the food was. They are a very professional, responsive and reliable company and the finishing touches made it extra special. Simon, Katie, Val and team were exceptional at our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Their service was second to none from the initial enquiry right through to packing up. The food was absolutely delicious and we had so many compliments for the quality and quantity from all out gusts on the day. Simon and his team did a mighty job on the day, BBQing on the hottest day of the year - at over 30 degrees C!! The day was absolutely perfect, in no small part due to Poppy's.. As soon as lockdown was announced in March Poppy leafleted our village offering a food delivery service. Poppy had done an excellent job of catering for our daughter’s wedding a few years ago so we decided to try them with an order of fruit and vegetable boxes and some prepared meals. The boxes were varied, interesting and good quality - we’ve even got to like swede! Since then we’ve had a delivery most weeks. They’re always delivered on time, well packaged and with helpful cooking instructions when needed. We’ve enjoyed nearly all the meals and the ‘specials’ in particular - a very generous roast dinner, an excellent Mexican meal and a very good value BBQ pack which included marshmallows and chocolate sauce! They’re a lovely company to deal with and we’re really appreciated having good home cooked meals as a treat during the last ten weeks.

Myself and 5 other families within our lane ordered afternoon tea for the VE Day celebrations. It arrived perfectly packaged up with a friendly member of the team who handed out all the orders observing the safe distancing regulations. The service was impeccable and I would not hesitate to recommend with 5 stars. Two families ordered gluten free within their requirements and this was clearly marked. All the food was fresh , tasty and looked amazing. Nothing was forgotten and it by far exceeded my expectations. Even the knife for the scone was included, and the individual pot of clotted cream just made my day. At £12.50 per person this is something I would definitely have again and will be using poppy caterers again very soon I’m sure. I need to find a celebration now!!

We have enjoyed food from Poppy Caterers on two occasions since ‘lockdown’. Afternoon Tea for VE Day , it was well presented and had everything you would expect of an afternoon tea, very good quality. Last weekend we had a celebration meal for two to celebrate a birthday, the food was delicious, with simple easy to understand cooking instructions and generous portion sizes. I would not hesitate to recommend or order from them again.

We had our wedding at the Merchant Taylors' Hall in York in early November 2018, and Poppy Caterers were the catering and event team for our big day. From start to finish, they were excellent. Val and her team provided invaluable help throughout the planning, and were always quick to provide helpful advice and information. Val also really went out of her way to help us at times, such as giving us a run through for our young nieces, and helping to make the hall look amazing on the morning of the wedding. The day itself was perfect - everything ran smoothly, and the staff were very accommodating and attentive. Katie and the team made sure everything went really well. And Simon's food was genuinely great - it looked and tasted fantastic. Our meal requests were all met, including making dishes exactly to our tastes, and we had a lot of compliments from our guests about the quality of the food. So we had a truly great day, and we couldn't have done it all without Poppy!

First class professional service from start to end. Amazing food, simply perfect. Would highly recommend. An absolute 5 star catering company. Would highly recommend Poppy Catering for their professionalism. The waiting staff were all lovely and very polite. We attended a wedding at the historical Taylor’s Merchant Hall at the weekend. The food was just amazing; canapés of cheese and asparagus tarts, meatballs, spring rolls, chicken satay, battered fish with a Chunky chip in a cute chip shop cone! A wonderful sit down meal; bread rolls, olives and balsamic vinegar, succulent roast beef, veg and Yorkshire puddings followed by 3 mini desserts of sticky toffee pudding, creme brûlée and meringue (decorated with fresh fruit). Oh and I almost forgot the hog roast rolls later on in the evening, which were also delicious. And the beautiful wedding cake served with tea or coffee. All such a wonderful experience.

Simon and Val were able to provide really great service for my Uncles Funeral. Rather than risk a wake after the funeral we opted for the take away, boxed afternoon teas. There were options on menu and presentation and I personalised them with a picture. The mourners were delighted to receive their box of treats and they were truly delicious. With Covid 19 we ended up having a smaller family wedding for our daughter Louise and her fiancé Rich. We wanted to make the day very special for them both and hence chose Poppy's as our preferred Caterer and we are delighted with the service provided. A first class service was provided by Simon and Val during my daughter Louise wedding day Professional and safe assembly of the marquee by Simon and his team and the attention to detail was second to non in making everything look perfect. The buffet for 18 people was supberb with a great choice of high quality food including canapés and deserts provided. Feedback from the wedding guests was very positive and I have never tasted roast ham as nice as this before. Our sincere thanks to Simon and Val for helping to make Louise and Rich big day very special. If you want a beautiful marquee with excellent food and service I would strongly recommend Poppy's. Although we’ve had excellent food and service from Poppy’s at many functions this was our first on the delivery service. We weren’t disappointed.
