R. A.Love this church so much! A towering gothic structure by William Butterfield, childhood church of C. S. Lewis, and home to a peal of change-ringing bells, sadly a bit neglected. The same can't be said for the church; when we visited there with a bell ringing team, it was spotless!
Interesting small pews which make the church seem much larger.
Sadly not open all the time due to a case of vandalism some years ago (so I'm told), but if you can arrange to visit or find a time when it's open (most likely during Heritage weekend in September) I most highly reccommend it!
E. S.Wonderful service on the evening of Remembrance Sunday and the building was warmer than usual. Great to hear Festival Brass again.
N. B.A friend now living in Galway loved this church. As a Google Local Guide, I noticed the address was wrongly given for a care home in local Holywood Town, and have changed the care home to OLD Holywood Rd. Under review today.
B. A.A must for fans of Cs Lewis, the church has a stained glass window dedicated by his brother Warren and himself . His grand father was the first rector and c s Lewis was himself baptised here
