St Michaels & All Angels is two churches in one, the first being by Bodley in 1862 and the enlarged "new" church being by Burges and completed in 1893 after his death. It is known as "the cathedral of the backstreets" for its astounding architecture in the style of Amiens Cathedral and others. This Grade one listed building's main claim to fame is the stunning Pre-Raphaelite glass by Wiliiam Morris, Burne -Jones, Rossetti, Philip Webb and others. I recommend a visit on Saturday between 10 am and 4pm; preceded by a superb fried breakfast in the adjacent hall between 9am and 10.30 am

It's Saturday and I'm here, it's a very beautiful church in its architecture. On Saturday mornings in the dining room they open their dining room and offer English breakfast for only 3 Pounds for those who cannot pay more. There are several tables in the dining room, generally they are older people who get together to chat and receive you with a lot of love.

Attended Sunday Mass. St Michael's is my place of worship. A beautiful church, with many hidden treasures. A must see for all visitors visiting Brighton.
