Delightfully eclectic mix of parishioners. A diverse group drawn together for the love of the Christian gospel so beautifully articulated in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer. All worship, both choral eucharistic and evensong is conducted with Thomas Cranmer's liturgical masterpiece.
Bill Bryson would have a field day writing on the resident characters. The gentle minister desperate to see the church flourish as a community of believers. An eccentric gathering of retiring civic notables joined in the pews by surprisingly youthful men and women, alongside mums and dad's young choir members.
It is a quinitsentially English experience. There's the gruff, the chatty and the shy. Due to years of falling income (Millenium grant essential) the place is shabby, and yet all the focus is on raising a mint to restore figures (quarterjacks) that ring the bells that tell the time. It's a joy to be a part, for you really couldn't make it up.

I really cannot comprehend the negative reviews left for Christ Church. Two stars? Seriously?
It is one of the most beautiful historical buildings of Bristol, it houses a wonderful-sounding pipe organ, with its earliest pipework dating back to Renatus Harris, the interior is exquisite and features wonderful acoustics, the music ministry is top-notch, the preaching is solid, and the Liturgy is still celebrated according to the 1662 prayer book. Overall, a wonderful place to be, and highly recommended for recitals and concerts.

If you like services from the traditional Book of Common Prayer, then this is the place to go, great music & organ.

Quick butchers in while open doors for the public, pretty impressive if on a small scale. Right in the centre of town close to St Nicks Market. Friendly and informative volunteers.

1662 common prayer book traditional service in the oldest church within the old city walls

Good liturgy but a shame the preacher spent most of his time telling us what he didn't believe.
