S. R.My favourite church in Colchester. I exchanged emails with the Minister before moving to Colchester and he was incredibly nice to write to.
They are extremely welcoming of anyone, whilst having a traditional style of worship (hymns rather than worship songs etc.).
The congregation is nice and mixed, refreshments are served after the morning worship, and fairtrade products are also sold.
The evening service is held in a smaller chapel, with fewer people attending, but still extremely friendly.
Communion is with gluten free bread and non-alcoholic wine for all.
The building is centrally located (in Lion Walk, next to a Costa and Booths), modern and with a lift for people who cannot or would rather not use the stairs.
A must-go church, especially if you are looking for a welcoming judgement-free environment.
