Reviews of Central Hall Westminster
J. G.
I love this venue. It has a very unique feel to it and it is situated at the strict heart of London itself. I had a pleasure to be one of the speakers at a crypto conference in this venue one time. Another time we saw a beautiful classical concert of Hans Zimmer classic pieces performed by a string quartet. This is one of the iconic buildings in London and well worth experiencing its interior at least once in your lifetime.
A. G.
Here for a candle lit piano event. All staff very professional and polite. Building is stunning.
S. G.
Fantactic architecture went for three aces show Inidian classical music good locaiton and spacious building and very close to tube station
D. B.
Beautiful building, architecture and historic significance amazing. Went to a Piano Recital here and acoustics are outstanding.
A little disappointed with the limited refreshments and rather staid rules regarding alcoholic drinks. You can take soft drinks into the concert hall but not alcoholic drinks. They offer overpriced Sol beer or a dubious white or red mini bottle of wine, and then you have to down it or leave it before entering the concert hall. If you want an equally over priced soft drink or (noisey snacks) it's OK to take them in and consume them and disturb people with lots of loud rustling of crisp packets, just not allowed to quietly sip a glass of wine.
M. A. R.
Awesome building. Seating and facilities are quite average. I attended a concert and the arrangements were poor. Staff didn't have proper idea about seat numbers and many people were roaming around trying to find seats. Gaps between some rows was literally a few inches, thus making sitting very uncomfortable. Insufficient bar facilities during breaks. No counters. A few tables were set up with two staff members and dozens and dozens of people surrounding them to get food.
A. L.
Beautiful architecture, you can easily spot the building from far away. Haven’t had a chance to visit inside but thanks to the other local guides I can see the recent pictures of the venue and hopefully will have an opportunity to visit
M. C.
We hired part of the building a hall for our event, everything went smoothly. Nearly 5000 people attended during the six hours.
u. m.
Beautiful venue. Enjoyed the sound best of Hanz Zimmers songs in candlelight
D. C.
I went to see a FEVER hosted candlelight concert playing a collection of Hans Zimmer's best works in film and TV.
The venue was beautiful with marble stairs and high ceilings, and felt magical with the candles set up in the performance area. The sound and acoustics were excellent for the string quartet playing. The amenities (e.g. bar and toilet) appeared new, clean and well-organised. The staff was efficient and friendly.
The entrance to the venue was a little hard to find so I would recommend leaving a 10 minute grace so not to arrive late.
w. n.
Very nice,clean place.
Very friendly staff.
M. M.
This is a beautiful historical building that is often used for receptions and conferences.
Situated directly opposite Westminster Abbey, this hall has all the splendour you can expect from a historical building set in the heart of London.
With sweeping curved staircases and a huge presentation hall, this church has the most impressive organ pipes you've ever seen.
A beautiful venue with a huge upper landing perfect for hosting a drinks reception.
C. M.
Beautiful Methodist church hosting concerts. We went to see a candlelit concert played a quartet, lovely. The acoustics are really good.
j. p.
Brilliant venue with historic architecture, very spacious in walk about areas, staff helpful and friendly. A great concert. Would like to see more events here. Pics are of surrounding buildings as well.
i.
An other classic venue in central london, just over 100 years old,and still a place of worship.Massive hall with king size organ on floor 3,king size marble stair case,2 big rooms on floor 1 and also a cafe in the crypt.
g. c.
Beautiful marbled staircase leads you up to a reasonable sized hall with a balcony of banked seats on three sides and enormous organ pipes on the fourth. I went here New Years Eve to see Madness and the atmosphere was fantastic. Im sure this church would be stunning for a service.
C. D.
This place is a wonderful hall for music. Was there to see Madness on New Years Eve and the close proximity to the main stage was much appreciated. The facilities for toilets and lobby were really good. Well done everyone for making it a lovely event.
V. R.
This place, the Methodist centre, is where John Wesley's life comes alive. The centre Hall is a beautiful piece of architectural wonder and acoustic Marvel. It seats 1000 on the floor level and another 1000 on the terrace. They do rent out the space for business and other events. Maybe your wedding?
V. L.
Magnificent and well appointed building with great facilities. Being here inspires an air of wonder. I've been a few times now for business and political events and Central Hall rarely disappoints. The only issues are the limited toilet facilities and the sometimes overcrowded staircases but otherwise a fantastic building.
G. A.
Wonderful building, and the sound for the NYE concert wasn't bad at all (would have liked more amplification for the Kingdom Choir and strings). Madness of course were exceptional.
C. O.
Highly recommend to view during opening hours or for private functions. Utterly charming building and exhibits.
J. R.
Beautiful venue and a good location. St James park and westminster station being the closest.
The seating plan was not very well labelled and as a result people were sat where they shouldn't be which caused a bit of tittle tattle.
I would recommend it.
I. J.
I went for Convocation Ceremony of Middlesex University. The place is very well done with thetre style sitting of 1000 people. Double lifts on both end with big staircases makes it convenient for all guests.
J. L.
Had the pleasure of listening to a talk with Yuval Harari and Natalie Portman at the Central Hall Westminster. The hall is absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous traditional interior, sparkling chandelier, polished wooden staircase banisters and royal burgundy carpeting. There are restrooms located at each end of the hall and getting in and out was a breeze. The venue was quite warm, so I'm sure they can improve the air circulation for increase comfort.
B. A.
Rich in history, magnificent in detailed architecture. The hall is indeed a relic to the vicinity
M. A.
Beautiful Hall with so much history and so close to houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.
B. p.
Had my convocation ceremony in here. Exceptional environment and a nice place for photography outside this place. Must visit if you are in central London.
G. C.
Enjoyed this conference venue. It's easy to get to in a superb prime London location. Main theatre has great acoustics. Cafe a bit overpriced and not really designed to cope with crowds so worth popping out for essentials.
J. F.
Beautiful building. Excellent facilities and the staff were very professional and friendly
R. B.
Very pleasant surroundings and the ambience very relaxing conducive to religious meditation but also steeped in history and architecture
L. L. T. B.
The view from the dome is unique and offers impressions of the CIty of Westminster you get from nowhere else
A. N.
I was there for a concert, and gotta say it's a very nice hall.
M. C.
Wonderful building and lovely cafe. Hidden gem in the heart of Westminster and away from the crowds. Lovely lunch, thoroughly recommended.
t. r.
Good lovely space .. impressed by the cleanliness of the Gets toilets for a massive concert gathering ... Securty staff helping to cover empty seats where very kind and helpful. The exits after show way slow as side fire exits smaller space are used .. CLEAN PLACE.
C. O.
Went there to see the Christmas Carol service. Nice building in the inside and outside and the Carol service was good.
l. B.
Magical atmosphere. Superb performance space. Great facilities
H. C.
Great venue in excellent location but lots of stairs so not great for those with mobility issues (although I think there is a lift, but I did not see it myself)
J. I.
So beautiful seeing Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker and Swan Lake in candlelight.
A. C.
Wonderful concert! Suggestive venue.
g. d. r.
Lovely centre. Very enjoyable event held there
F. W.
Attended March4Women at Central Hall and it was a great space. Really great architecture and history, good for any event. The loos were nice too!
M. P.
Amazing place and the acoustic bis incredible
G.
It's a good place, I attended a musical concert. I think it can be good space for wedding too.
T. A.
One of the best sites in London! Make sure to allot some time to walk the grounds and if possible see the inside.
C. L.
This is a stunning living church that practises what it preaches.
D. S. Д. Ш.
There is a conference hall with the organ inside)) and church and lots of small rooms for presentations and meetings.
E. C.
Wonderful event venue perfectly located, and looks amazing.
O. G.
Beautiful Hall. I had my graduation ceremony there. It was an amazing ceremony.
S.
I would have loved it, but due to the amount of people waiting to get in the abby I choose not to go in. And the price to get in was a bit steep!
S. M.
Wonderful organs concert in a beautiful place
R. W.
Very good venue for the conference I attended. Facilities are clean although had the usual queues for the ladies loos. Lunch was delicious, and catered for all sorts of dietary needs, the only problem is that there was nowhere to sit so everyone had to eat a hot meal while standing around, which was a bit odd! The acoustics were good so I could hear all the speakers. Overall a productive and enjoyable day.
N. K.
Such a grand place. Glad my graduation ceremony was held here, where leaders like Winston Churchill and Mahatama Gandhi gave speaches.
L. S.
Fantastic space, beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed the New Year's Eve Madness gig there
R. C.
Historic venue, ideal for big conferencing events. Food well prepared and efficient service.
J. E.
Absolutely stunning architectural beauty. Very very beautiful establishment and highly recommend visiting to enjoy not only the beauty of the architecture, but also to spend a moment in the great Hall considering the many people who have passed through and the historic moments that have occurred. Also to stare in awe at the beautiful organ. Try and go when there is an organist playing. Beautiful.
On a cold winters day the cafe in the basement offers some very good food and coffee. Also bathrooms here.
D. B. D. N.
Outstanding place of worship. Live streaming regularly on Sunday during Lockdown.
Very friendly ministers, always helpful and willing to pray for you.
R. W.
Great setting to hold a Geocaching Mega Event, Thanks for allowing the event to take place in the building
B. D.
Huge building right in centre of London. Very good public transport links and taxi access. Traffic not too bad in the evenings. Near other major attractions including Westminster Abbey and Palace of Westminster. Run charitably. Amazing architecture and excellent acoustic in the auditorium. Didn't check out the large space for worship. In many ways logistics were very good and we felt secure, in other ways things seemed perhaps a little amateur... just a feeling. Seating comfortable for a fairly long show and enough space between rows although at 6' I was glad to be at the end of a row. Interval drinks plentiful, well organised and controlled so no excesses. Toilets clean and ordinary. Overall a great night at one of the great London venues.
M. E.
Cafe has pretty basic options, that aren't cheap but not too expensive for the area. Very generous portions.
Seemed pretty busy when I visited, but maybe the fairly slow service meant that the queue went longer.
The space itself is nice, with good natural lighting making you forget you're underground. Decent, recent refurbishment.
Coffee wasn't great.
F. R.
It is a nice hall. Very good location but seats completely uncomfortable and very tide. The concert I went to was brilliant but it was let down by the staff as every time some1 stood up to dance they were told off by them for health and safety reasons. I just like to say that some nations it's in there blood when they listen to music there body starts moving by it self they just can't control it. And we belong to this kind of nation
R. H.
An incredible building that has the wow factor. A large basic refectory in the basement and a small cafe at street level. The main rooms are well kept and have a luxurious and historical feel to them, an incredible building that does not fade, even in the light of the abbey across the road
Y. A.
The Methodist Central Hall (also known as Central Hall Westminster) is a multi-purpose venue and tourist attraction in the City of Westminster, London. It serves primarily as a Methodist church and a conference centre, but also as an art gallery and an office building (formerly as the headquarters of the Methodist Church of Great Britain until 2000). It contains twenty-two conference, meeting and seminar rooms, the largest being the Great Hall, which seats 2300.
N. B.
Great venue, great staff
An historic place of worship with an interesting past. The first UN meeting was help here
H. _.
It's a great building but not the best as a music venue. The configuration is perfect for an intimate venue, with great vision and acoustics, but the upper seats are the worst I've ever seen, of you are normal height. Even dwarves would suffer from the excess heat, and this was a cold day in December. I have to say, it spoiled the evening and I would avoid going to a concert if I couldn't get seats downstairs
R. M.
Very good venue. I saw Adam Kay ‘Twas the night shift before Christmas here. The staff were very good, the facilities where also very clean, the theatre room is very big and has ample of seating. Would reccomemd
S. M.
Really nice building and a great venue for functions and celebrations.
L. M.
WOW! What an AMAZING place to visit. So much history ouzes from every corner & crevice. Staff are always friendly & helpful & manage to disguise high security..... you don't feel security but you do feel secure & safe. We saw Queen & Adam Lambert NYE. What an AMAZING gig.
B. R. K.
Easy to locate and welcoming place with good people
G. H.
Very welcoming indeed! Cloakroom facilities helped me. I attended an evening conference there but want to spend a whole day; exploring this fascinating building; very soon. There are lifts too which is a real bonus. The staff made me feel welcome.
A. M.
We were here at the weekend for Sister Act live show. A really nice venue.
A. C.
Excellent central London venue. Comfortable seating in the hall.
S. S.
Good. Avoid the poor coffee shop in the basement. Especially a bald headed bearded white man who needs to learn a thing or two about customer services. The food counters have lovely women on them. Would have got more stars but the staircase to the balcony is very narrow and if there is any emergency evacuation, people will die.
K. G.
The Central Hall Westminster is well maintained and the directions for the rooms are clearly marked. I had been there for one the events in the earlier weeks of June this year and the weather was not too good. They had umbrellas for the guests and also bags in which the guests could put their own umbrellas. Not sure if it was provided by the hall or by the organisers of the event. Nevertheless, the staff are really helpful and kind!
S. R.
Hall was centrally located.. But the seats were cramped. No leg space
P. B.
Great central london hall.
I've been to various events and lectures here over the years.
It's in a good location & is easy to get to.
When inside it has good sight lines.
There can sometimes be long queues waiting to get in.
Interesting architecture.
A. P.
At the carols. Nice place. Great concert but the hospitality was awful. Huge queues for prebooked drinks took all our interval time leaving no time to go to the loo or drink said drinks and you can't take them in the hall. Very poor indeed.
J. V.
Had lunch here after a tour of Westminster Abbey on the advice of a tour guide, and so glad we did. A decent selection of mains and sides, and at prices that were a good bit lower than the rest of this heavily-touristed area. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a tour of the rest of the building, but all the staff were really nice and the restrooms were clean. Couldn't ask more than that!
D. D.
Really nice historic building, take a walk back in time. Went to a lively #brexit debate, great room and really adds a sense of occasion. Funny using the bathrooms was like going back in time to school bathrooms. Some good events held here, do go and visit if you can
A. J.
A beautiful building both inside and out. Lovely architecture. High ceilings. Lots to see nearby too. Only a short walk from Victoria train station or even closer Westminster Tube station which is also amazing.
S. H.
This is a seriously grand old church which doubles up as a conference centre. There's years of history packed into its walls yet it functions as a modern venue surprisingly well. I've enjoyed many events here, there's always a great atmosphere.
L. P.
Was a very busy day at the time of my visit! But such a beautiful building that is actually than we can imagine! And yet with all the busyness it still has quiet spaces! And in Central London that is a precious thing.
L. S. (. G.
Lovely memories. Great place.
s. m.
It's a beautiful and fantastic hall, It locates in London, UK.
P. L.
This is a massive meeting space with a huge spec filling organ. But if you end up in the banked seating above the main auditorium floor; make sure you are SMALL. The gaps between seating rows must have been designed for children under 12. It's a very uncomfortable expereince.
I would not recommend it as a business meeting venue.
The main interior is fancy polished stonework with massive staircases. Universities use it for degrees ceremonies.
A. C. (. c.
Sound guys fab. Venue good but one room very noisy after lunch with plates being flattered around and staff talking. Asked them for quiet as conference next door. Apologetic but lasted 5 mins. Never enough food to keep queues down but it's good.
T. L.
Lovely old building in the heart of central London.
Easy walking distance from Victoria, Charing Cross Overground stations and Westminste and St James park underground stations
And thank you to the London marathon for hosting meet the experts, it was a good afternoon
E. M.
Couldn't access bookshop. However, I also used the cafe on second visit, when again couldn't access the bookshop. There were many ladies entering as I was leaving. I ordered jacket potato with chilli concarnie which was delicious. Service was great. This was very helpful as I use walking stick. Received a number to call if bookshop is still open before coming. Thanks.
L. S.
Big and decent venue at the very centre of the city
r.
Nice and clean facility
S. H.
Magnificent building, nice and warm, good light. Most of the ladies toilets not working, involving a long trip to the basement. Cafe had run out of sandwiches by about 13:00!
S. G.
Attended a Christmas Carol singalong concert, previously at the Royal Albert Hall.
Lift access available for those with mobility issues.
Be aware if you wish to have an alcoholic drink in the interval there is a system whereby you need to obtain vouchers online in advance otherwise soft drinks only!
B. B.
This a rather small store, items sold are Westminster related, understandably, but a few items we went in to purchase were out of stock which was disappointing. The staff were very nice, especially with the odd ' nutter ' coming into the shop and shouting protests !!! But it's to be expected around there, sadly.
A. L.
Attended a Men's Conference at Westminster Central Hall to hear John Piper speak. The Central Hall is a magnificent auditorium with excellent acoustics. The building is a brilliant architectural structure situated adjacent to Westminster Abbey.
The Conference was attended by over 500 men who travelled from many parts of the UK with the majority coming from various parts of London.
B. E.
We went to a concert here. Given that it is not primarily a concert venue, it did well. Sound was good, and generally well organised. The main gripe is the door policy. Audience were admitted after the concert started, without waiting for a break. Constant disruption after the start, and after each of the two intermissions, from people returning to their seats (often in the middle of a row).
One important thing. The venue is 'dry' due to the Methodist connection. Alcoholic drinks were only actions by pre-paid voucher.
M. S.
Great night with the BBC NYE celebration. Craig David was amazing. The bar arrangements where a bit chaotic but all good. Really enjoyed the night.
J. D.
What a lovely building, and it is a venue of so many different events. Worth keeping an eye on. I'm planning on returning to hear an organ recital in the great hall
S. P.
The basement cafe: clean, bright, uplifting, airy & spacious with wide menu. Very welcoming, fair priced, although not for the Posh - it is Methodist before all!
M. R. B. F.
This Methodist hall is a huge beautiful place. I went as I was attending a meeting in the hall as they also use part of the building as a venue. The décor is beautiful and I had a really special time here. It's a very big building with a very big character
A. M.
I was there for a Leave Means Leave event. It started late as people were only being let in half an hour before the start. As a result big queues formed to get in. Also, for no apparent reason, attendees were not allowed to use one upper area of the hall. This caused unnecessary congestion. The event itself was good despite these drawbacks.
M. W.
Wonderful historic building and an inclusive uplifting Methodist place to worship in.
M. M.
Interesting place. For speaches, conferences or mentoring. Inside is good. Getting to the floors is a challenge. Stairs are not wide enough for the number of people this place can host.
J. C.
Nice place. Love the staircase. Only negative is there is absolutely nowhere to sit down when waiting to be allowed into main auditorium
S. M.
Beautiful buidling. Visited for my daughters graduation with Middlesex University. Staff in cafe were lovely, helpful and friendly, great service
B. M.
Incredible, huge unique building in the heart of Westminster. Lovely staff, always friendly and accommodating. Beautiful grand great hall with a dome!
C. M.
Nice traditional building...
V. o. W.
We went on 'Open Day' where Government buildings are open to the public. This meant access to the top of the building and the spectacular views over London
T. L.
Lovely old building in the heart of central London.
Easy walking distance from Victoria, Charing Cross Overground stations and Westminste and St James park underground stations …
H. P.
offers many great performance
J. M.
Chris Patten's analysis of China's development and current ideology was exceptionally well presented. (I had forgotten that the Tories used to have leaders of intellect and stature)
S. M.
Beautiful buidling. Visited for my daughters graduation with Middlesex University. Staff in cafe were lovely, helpful and friendly, great service
H. M.
Great worship. Friendly people. Enjoyed my roast lunch after church
T. W.
A very historic building with a truly amazing interior.
Well worth a visit.
D. B.
Lovely seeing for a conference. Good catering. Only downside is the lack of sitting down places during buffet.
M. R. B. F.
This Methodist hall is a huge beautiful place. I went as I was attending a meeting in the hall as they also use part of the building as a venue. The décor is beautiful and I had a really special time here. It's a very big building with a very big character
R. R.
Gorgeous architecture
S. C.
Central location! Interesting arhitectural style. Not too poosh but special. Good facilities. Easy accessible. Christmas concert held here was 5 stars.
T. G.
Visited for the PiXL conference on 15.03.18. Venue was spotless and had excellent facilities. Food on arrival and at lunchtime was also superb.
A. G.
Amazing Experience ❤️
D. k.
Attended the Christian Radio Woman to woman conference. Great venue and the conference was wonderful, the guest speakers were truly inspirational and we all had a fabulous day
C. M.
Lovely plac but disabled access was no obvious and one member of staff walked off carrying my Nan's wheelchair, luckily she was able to manage the few steps that led to the lift.
S. D. T.
It's an old building but rather adequate for modern events. I felt the style of the place works well with the atmosphere of London.
M. S.
A worth visiting place near Parliament hiuses & Westminster Abbey. Attended graduation ceremony. A bit congested place such a big even.
B. M.
Nice conference hall and good venue. Some strangely placed speakers get in the eyeline of some seats and balance of band was a bit off downstairs at least.
D. B.
Lovely seeing for a conference. Good catering. Only downside is the lack of sitting down places during buffet.
S. B.
I was working there in the plant room, the pictures are from tothill street.
M. J. M.
Very lovely. Looks like the place has been renovated since I was last here 4yrs ago
M. P.
Just across from Westminster Abbey, but tours are FREE. History of Methodism is fascinating. Hall has very Greg significance over the past 100+ years, from the formation of the UN to Martin Luther King speaking here.
S. T.
Awesome performance
Candlelight Ballet
N. L.
This is a great venue, doesn't look like much from the outside but the staircase is magnificent and the main auditorium is stunning.
L.
As the name says, it's super central! Very nice and imposing building mostly used for conferences, congresses, graduations, seminars... etc
A. B.
Nice venue in the heart of Westminster. Lots of space downstairs in large conference room. On site cafe was reasonable.
J. M.
Chris Patten's analysis of China's development and current ideology was exceptionally well presented. (I had forgotten that the Tories used to have leaders of intellect and stature)
A. M.
Wesley cafe is a great place to meet and good value for Central London. Don't miss out on their cakes. ...
J. d. H.
Beautiful building in the centre of Westminster. The main Methodist Church in England. Offers public performances, conference facilities and lovely staff.
C. G.
Beautiful place!
A. G.
Nice venue seats could be better as hardly any room if someone wants to pass through.

M. H.
Great venue for conference, easy to get to, decent coffee provided and lunch was tasty (albeit small...!)
J. R.
Was there this time for a National Day of Prayer.... Packed to capacity! Great venue, location, atmosphere and staff!

They have even linked this IP address on their Facebook page requesting that someone launch a ddos attack against it. Just figured that I'd let ya'll know
