Grade I Listed, much restored, attributed to Hawksmoor, crowned with a massive and distinctive baroque lantern tower supporting an historical flagpole/weather vane, primitive navigational aid and tower clock aligned to Greenwich. Unusually and by special dispensation the “White Ensign” continually flown here over the surrounding graveyard/garden studded with monuments, tombstones and a war memorial. The western entrance approached through St.Anne’s Passage shows the design to best advantage. An active community.

St Anne's Limehouse is a Hawksmoor Anglican Church in Limehouse, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It was consecrated in 1730, one of the twelve churches built through the 1711 Act of Parliament. C of E... I grew up here and love this place its very special to me... how the yard is full of spring flowers this time of year is just so beautiful... 🌸🌺🍁

Not appropriate to 'rate' a church! It's not an amusement park! As a historic building it is very interesting but it's normally only open for church services or community events.

beautiful church with great crypt. they organize great events for families e.g. kids playgroup, craft evenings for mums , who let the dads out. The Vicar is a lovely person. We hired a crypt few times and we always had a great time there.

A lovely historic church. A genuine cornerstone of the Limehouse community. They are always inviting and host a wealth of activities for the local community. If you are looking for a new church in Limehouse you should definitely try St. Anne’s.

Glorious, but in dire need of repair. Stone pyramid in the churchyard with "The Wisdom of Solomon" written on it. Fascinating place.

Another beautiful example of a Hawksmoor Church. The pipe organ in St Anne's won first prize in the Great Exhibition of 1851 at Crystal Palace, and is an added bonus to any visit.
