Reviews of The Queen's Chapel of the Savoy

Fantastic place! This is the Queen's Chapel of the Royal Victorian Order in London. Full of history and very, very old building and it is also fascinating what it is hidden below its gardens...
It is tucked away from the main and busy roads in the heart of Central London, but easy to reach via bus, tube, and short 10 min walk from Trafalgar Square.
I strongly recommend to pay a visit during the Sunday Mass to hear, free of charge, the fantastic professional choir. Make sure you arrive before the service though, to find a sit and to be allowed in without problems, as after the service starts and the choir commence singing it is not permitted to interrupt and disturb by coming in and out. Service starts at around 10:45/55 am and last approximately one hour depending on the music repertoire, followed by a little reception, where a glass of wine or sherry it's offered to whom wish to stay behind and meet other members of the congregation, the chaplain, the organist, the conductor and the singers!
Great experience to those who want to feel the real English culture and tradition for an hour or so!

Speaks for itself! Wonderful old old stained glass, the gentleman in charge was so very kind in showing us it from the other side - spectacular!

A great place to take some time out. If open they let you sit in the beautiful chapel. The churches across London are the hidden gems which like parks make space to breathe in the busy hubbub of life.

The Queen's Chapel is my favorite place in London - it offers an incredible walk through history, with beautiful stained glass windows and armorial plates. If you're very lucky, you may get a walk through the robing room; the steward and staff are wonderfully friendly and excited to share the Chapel's history. It's a bit off the beaten tourist path, and feels intimate and special - I've never visited when anyone else was there. Read up a bit on its history - noteworthy moments include the fourteenth century Peasants' Revolt and Dickens' novels, written in the area of the Chapel, and a significant fire in the nineteenth century - and don't miss the chance to see a beautiful building demonstrating the living nature of London's history. Be advised, the Chapel is closed throughout August and September 2013 for refurbishments to the floor, to bring it to match the glory of the refurbished ceiling.

Made it here after many years trying and oh my stars! The ceiling alone, faithful rendition of the 500 year old original is just breathtaking. Outstanding! Go and see it!

Surrounded by history, royal patronage, excellent music and a friendly welcome a visit to the Savoy Chapel is well worth it. The Sunday Service is well attended and lasts about 1 hour.

This is a beautiful chapel right in the heart of London. Don’t forget to spend some time to check out the sketches of historic 16th-19th century London inside!
P. S.
An absolutely fascinating remnant of royal privilege - this chapel is the most peculiar of the 'peculiar's - religious buildings that fall directly under the control of the Queen rather than the parish and diocese system of the Church of England.
The Queen's Chapel Of The Savoy is full of royal memorabilia - you might even get the opportunity to poke your nose into the robing room, which is full of furniture from Buckingham Palace...

Friendly church at the back of the savoy. Great to have the choir back for the first time after lock down
