What a beautiful peaceful little early Saxon church c682! Fantastic history and an ideal place to visit if you love old churches. Lots to see inside including a wonderful Tudor/James 1 memorial. Don't forget to visit the adjacent St John's House, a ruins of an old medieval manor. Easy access and parking but please respect the privacy of the Warnford Estate in which the church and ruins are situated.

St Wilfred tamed the Meonware and built a church here in 682ad long before other Christian Churches were founded elsewhere. It smells of antique damp paper, cold stone and dying lilies. This church provides the architectural style for Winchester Cathederal four centuries before William the Conqueror had it built. Visit in February and view the fantastic display of Snowdrops in the woods behind the church.

Classic English church, with ruins out back.
Check out the headstone related to working on Sunday.

Known for its Snowdrops in the church yard. A very interesting church. Well worth a visit, particularly in Snowdrop season.
