The best place for menswear, I was very impressed with the quality of service that is provided here it was exceptional as was the quality of their products. If it doesn't fit you perfectly they adjust it to perfection then send it to your home free of charge. It is a must shop so please give them the opportunity to service your needs.

Great service today, lynsey in particular was great. For a girl who has just started in the company her customer service was second to none and made the experience much greater. It’s a credit to the store training given , her supervisor was tremendous also but didn’t catch her name. Plenty of suit options, helped with shirt style, ties and pocket squares to match best with suit, couldn’t ask for more from better service.

Sudden plan of buying a suit, interesting collection with tailored, slim and skinny fits. The person who was helping me in suit section wasn’t helpful, he was just trying to get rid from his section as soon as possible. For all the suits tried he wasn’t giving honest opinion. The madam at the shirt selecting selection had better idea for the selection and helped me out as i never had a experience of having one. The quality of suit is one of the finest!!

Needed a suit at the last minute for a wedding, chanced it asking for a tailored suit to be completed within 24 hours. I was absolutely amazed the guy said “Sound good, come back tomorrow before 3”. Service was above and beyond any place I’ve been to before. Picked up the suit on the day of the wedding, was nervous about the fittings etc, the suit was an excellent fit. I was in on the 24/07/22 and received excellent service from Alexander C. He was able to locate a suit that was on the website within seconds despite the odds being against me and it was the last one! This was needed for an interview the next day so I was over the moon. And Julie B was able to locate me a nice shirt tie and shoes to go with the suit which was excellent looking in the end up. Went to Slater's to get my son a suit, His first may I add. From the second we stepped in the service was absolutely first class. The young guy measured and helped assist with all the suits and advice was first class, then he passed us over to another gentleman who assisted us with shoes. Nothing was too much bother at all for the staff. 3 piece suit and shoes purchased and when we got back to the car my son said he was made to feel pretty special and he would buy any further suits from there. Never had a bad experience in Slaters, a visit on Tuesday 27th Dec was excellent. My son needed a new suit for a mock court case at Uni where he has to present closing arguments..within 30 secs of arriving and speaking with an assistant, he was measured up and with a quick glance at a rack of suits he was handed a suit jacket to try for size. That was the suit we left with. The assistant was fantastic with him, took him down to get a shirt, tie and shoes and we left with 10 minutes of arriving. Wouldn't get anywhere else, suits for any occasion.

I realise I'm a little unusual as I'm a female that wears clothes typically worn by men. When I go to a wedding I usually just improvise, mix and match etc. Not this time. Very nice place to buy menswear, suits and kilts. I was in just the other day and this great gentleman was more than happy to help me and my mum find a suit for this event I have next week. I ended up picking out a lovely grey suit and although i didn’t catch the man’s name who helped us, he was a great help, great chat and a lovely person. The selection that Slaters offers is very good even for other accessories such as shoes, belts and ties, which i was also able to get a lovely blue Paisley tie to match the grey suit I will soon be picking up.

Visited here last Fri with hubby. Young man who served my hubby was brilliant, for a young man, he was straight on it. He knew his stuff, he was quick, snappy, efficient and very professional. Picked up my partners suit and unfortunately the trousers hadn't been altered as they should have been. at after 5pm on a Saturday most people would say you have to come back for them but he ran them into the seamstress who hemmed them there and then for us. As I drove from Leeds to Glasgow to collect the exact suit I wanted in my size, I arrived at the shop around 7.30am, the shop didn’t open untill 8.30am. Luckily when I arrived some staff and the manager was just opening up, I explained my situation about travelling all the way up to collect my suit. The manager was absolutely amazing! Invited me in even though the shop wasn’t officially open. Offered me a hot drink straight away. Then he went to find my suit, he was very efficient and very proffesional. Once he found my suit he asked me to try it on to check the fitting, which it needed altering. He offered to do this for me straight away which was brilliant! I was very happy and pleased with the service from the slaters store! I thought my local Leeds store which I have used for years was good!! But this store tops it by far! Just a shame it’s a 8 hour round trip from my house! 🤣 Once again if you could pass my comments on to the store manager I would really appreciate it! Regards Lee Tighe

When I first visited this store last week, I promised Craig (the employee who helped me) that I would have left a FIVE STARS feedback in recognition of the Super Service he gave me and the fantastic suit he recommended for me. However, the trousers needed some alteration and so I returned today to pick up the suit. I stay in Baillieston and therefore even getting in town is far from easy but I was so excited to get my suit. Unfortunately, the trousers were still too regular when I tried them on. Last Sunday I had expressly requested a slim fit style, and Craig followed my instructions to the letter, so I know it's not his fault at all. I can't emphasise enough how near to perfection his service was. The guy who served me today – Douglas - was incredibly helpful too when I conveyed my extreme disappointment to him. He immediately understood my concerns and offered to do a second alteration free of charge. Even the service received from him was like sky high, and it's a blessing having workers like these two guy who are so skilled and passionate about their job. Even if I had to return the following Sunday, I would still have given it five stars but an event happened around 2pm really annoyed me. Last night, I noticed on the Slaters website that they advertised a set called "Tie and Floral Pocket Square Set"; as I type this, I can see that it is still listed as "IN STOCK" on the website. I approached a female employee who was about 20 years old, tall, slim, blonde, and had blue eyes, but her service was awful in comparison to the extraordinarily excellent standards I had experienced on Sunday and today. She was not busy at all and when I showed her the picture on my phone of these accessories she just said "We don't have it!"...And that was all. No help was offered, no alternatives, nothing. She then walked away saying no one word (giving for granted that I would have followed her) and when I did, she simply showed where all the ties and pocket squares were, and that was all. At that point I was so annoyed with that "Poundland style service" (with all due respect for Poundland) that I just gave up on her saying "Ok thanks!" which was my polite way to say "Thanks for nothing!" I really don't get this massive discrepancy of customer service skills between Craig + Douglas and this girl despite they get paid exactly the same. I understand that outside was sunny and worm and that working on a Sunday is not the best but I am pretty sure that there are so many people in Glasgow looking for a job and therefore if she couldn't care less about hers, she might consider to give space to those who really want to. Like I said I am really sorry about the 3 stars but she really ruined the whole customer service experience, and if I was considering this place as a TOP place, I will now have to reconsider it as a "TOP but depending on who will serve you". I can’t believe I will need to order through their website the tie and pocket square just because her service was below any standard!

I will always go to slaters when I need a suit, shirts, dress shoes, kilt hire, etc. Prices are great and selection is vast, but what truly sets Slaters apart from anywhere else is the staff. I've been to Slaters at different points through my life, whether it's while I'm unemployed and penniless getting work clothes paid for by the job centre, for a funeral after a close bereavement, for many weddings, and for more work clothes now I'm doing better, and every single time without exception I've been treated with dignity, respect, and kindness. I am not exaggerating when I say that without Slaters I genuinely wouldn't be where I am today, because no matter how you feel or what your position is in life, you get the same high quality experience, there simply is no comparison, and as a result as long as Slaters exists that's where I'll be shopping.

Well known store for buying men's suits. You can also hire suits and kilts as well as buy casual clothing here too. They have a large range of suits from ranging from £100 for a three piece suit to much more high quality and higher priced ones. Also have a large selection of shirts, ties and other essentials for dressing for whatever occasion you need. When I was in recently with my oldest son the store was very busy. Even with it being as busy we were approached by a sales assistant almost immediately who was quick to ask my son what he was after. Straight away he was offered a range of suit jackets to try to see what kind of style and fit he was looking for. Once he choose a colour and style the assistant gathered the matching trousers and waistcoat offering him to try it on, which he done. Once wearing it the assistant took measurements of how much his trousers and jacket sleeves needed taking up, for a small fee. After this my son was shown to a large selection of shirts to finish his ensemble. All in all Slater Menswear has excellent customer service and is a very efficient shopping experience which I much prefer to browsing and taking ages. Would recommend.

FANTASTIC GLASGOW ICON I first walked in the door of " Ralphie's " in Howard Street in 1978. It was quite amazing. I was slim back then and suddenly confronted by a colossal range of reasonably priced, trendy clothes. On entry I was met by Ralph Slater himself, accompanied by his son, Paul. They both were the epitome of sartorial elegance and genuinely charming. The staff were very engaging too and, as I became an account holder and regular visitor, I always felt welcome. It was the Glasgow equivalent of being a customer in Cheers Bar, the US sitcom. Over the years my visits dropped away but, on a sudden whim, I visited last week. In terms of welcome, it was every bit as warm as before, particularly when the staff banter kicked in. The range of clothing is still awesome, smart and well priced. With Paul at the helm, Ralph would be so proud. Fabulous place which I would highly recommend.

Just been to Slater’s Glasgow to buy an outfit for my disabled son who has been invited to a wedding. Have to say I wasn’t looking forward to what is usually a bit of an ordeal but the staff in Slater’s were exceptional. Bobby helped us get trousers, a waistcoat and a shirt (all fit perfectly) and John helped us with shoes and a belt, he even put an extra hole in the belt. The customer service in this shop is unbeatable. The shop has loads of sales assistants who greet you at the door and make the whole experience enjoyable and stress free. I Googled men's evening dress hire and found Slaters in Howard Street, Glasgow. Spread over 2 floors, this massive menswear store almost feels like stepping into the past. And that is meant as the highest possible compliment. The staff are plentiful, they are polite, respectful, friendly, knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble to ensure your requirements are met. In the section for men's evening dress hire, something I have never had the need for before, the assistant could not have been more helpful and attentive. He advised me, guided me, took careful measurements, having me try on pieces similar to the final outfit to check on the best fit and look, and to ensure my comfort. Suffice to say I was delighted with the end result which arrived the following day for a final fitting, which was perfect. I then found myself mesmerised by the range of menswear for sale, and spent a further hour or so making purchases, again assisted by a most pleasant and knowledgeable sales person. All in all, this is the perfect example of what retail used to be like, and should be still, but sadly is rarely so. No doubt there are those who prefer to browse for themselves and queue up at the till. But this is an altogether more enjoyable experience. I'll be back.

I don't know how, but this was the first time I had stepped foot in Slaters and I was blown away by the quality and service. A young lad came over to me within 2 mins of walking onto the floor. He sized me up, got me to try some things on and within 10 mins I had a suit I really liked. He measured me up for free alterations (this was the tues) and told me they'd be ready for collection on the Friday. I was then passed over to another colleague who sized me up for a shirt and got me a tie and pocket square. I was in less than an hour and the place was heaving! Great service, variety, knowledge and quality! 3 piece suit + shirt + tie + pocket square + alterations all for 130 quid. I'll be back next time I need a suit.

Needed 2 shirts, trousers and a jacket. She measured me for a shirt and picked 2 with a 1/2 neck size down for an open shirt, no tie. When tried at home they were perfect. She the walked me to Trousers and Jacket. Based on the shirt colours he asked my size in trousers and preferred colour, suggested a couple of options and the one I picked from his options fitted perfectly. He then suggested my jacket size and showed me one that fitted perfectly and went with the trousers and work well with both shirts. Their range is wide and varied, same with the price to suit all pockets (forgive the pun). Personal service is second to none. I would always recommend them for suits, shirts and jackets

Went in yesterday for a suit for my husband. The guy who helped us was great, helpful, assertive & found my husband a great suit. Staff are really attentive. We had our very busy 2 year old with us! But he was given a wee colouring book which kept him occupied & made a fuss of. Great experience & loved the whole traditional shopping experience of buying a suit. Everything's catered for, from pants to cravats! Nothing's too much hassle. Suit we picked is great quality & fits perfectly. We'll be back.

Been a customer for years, on my most recent visit, the customer service was excellent, I was assisted by 3 different people (each in a different department) all of whom were friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Initially looking for a suite (which didn't quite work) I ended up buying a jacket, waist coat, trousers, belt and shoes, shirt and tie. At no point did they get pushy to sell me more expensive clothing and when trying on the clothes the sales assistant pinned them for alteration (which is a free service) ensuring what I was buying would fit me as best as possible. I have to say, the customer service at Slater's is one of the most bizarre I have ever experienced. Originally having visited in December 2017 to have a groom and groomsman measured and fitted for a rental suit, the man working in the rental department was quite reluctant to make us a booking as he said it was too early for our wedding in July 2018. We came back in January 2018 to instead purchase a suit, and again both a manager and store employee were reluctant to make an order for a suit as they said they wanted to wait until they had more in stock. Both times, I had gone into the store ready to make a purchase to check this off of my wedding to-do list, and both times we left empty-handed. When we came back in March 2018 again to finally purchase a suit, quite in contrast to the last two times, had absolutely wonderful service from two of the employees. We again came back to purchase shoes and pick up our suit a week later, and had outstanding service this time as well. This is why I have given it 3 stars, as the last two visits have compensated for the poor service from the previous two times.

Gem of a shop in Glasgow City centre. If you want a suit there's no better place. You can get a cheap suit for work or spend plenty on a designer brand, there's plenty of staff on hand to help and advise. They offer a free alteration service too, I got my suit after a couple of days. This really sets this shop apart from the others in my opinion as I don't think there's much to be saved getting a suit from a department store. There's a lift to help out those with mobility issues although it should be noted that it was out of service when I was there the first time.

Initially I had a terrible experience when I visited on Sunday 2nd June, granted it was busy however I felt rushed and had to ask multiple times for alterations to my waistcoat before the guy said he would do it. That along with hassle I had with my shirt with a staff member not listening to the shirt sizes I requested and specifically said not slim fit and was given a slim fit. Anyway I relayed some comments to management and I must say the manager Jim was an absolute gent, apologised for the experience I had and by email the next morning and advised him I would pop into the store today Monday 3rd June. I won't go into everything they did for me but basically they made sure I was happy with every aspect of my suit and fit and took the time to address any problems there and then so I wouldn't need to make another trip out. Completely redeemed my faith in Slater's as the best place to go as the manager Jim genuinally cares about his customers and wants to make sure everyone has a good experience. So, thank you to Jim and the team at Slater's for turning things around. I will be back for sure.

Slater's are always my first stop for men's clothing, everybody is so helpful and knowledgeable. A great range of mens clothes from many different manufacturers and a tailoring service too. Prices are very competitive as well.

Been shopping here forever. Things change over the years and I do miss the bosses being on the shopfloor making sure everyone is looked after. Some old faces missing, but still full of smiles from the current bunch. Think I've been lucky, always get my suits off the rail and never needed adjustments. I was let down over the festive period by the store, however a call from GM Andrew sorted that. A real piece of Glasgow, how many 1st suits have been bought here? How many interview suits, how many weddings, party suits and so on. How many memories made from buying from Slaters? Not just suits, a great selection of Blazers, shirts, trousers, tops, T's, shoes and knickers n socks.
