A. D.Very impressed. I bought a peacoat and a wax jacket here. Both are really well constructed with great attention to detail. As an example all pockets are lined (on the inside) with some kind warm woolen material. It‘s not really something anybody would see but makes a big difference when wandering through nature having forgotten ones gloves.
From a design perspective i love both jackets as well and would best describe them as modern takes on very traditional staples. Some details have been improved, but only ever if there was a good reason for it and never just for newness.
The brand is not cheap — about GBP 800 for the peacoat. Of course one could easily get one for a quarter of that price.
But, also for 4 times it.
And for me Private White strikes the perfect balance of „reassuringly expensive“ as in I know they charge enough to use good materials and not pay child worker in some hell hole but British workers, and „not taken for a ride“, as I will not hand over thousands and thousands just because some fashion house slapped a label onto a garment.
