Looking for a dog friendly cafe in the Furness area and we stuck gold we were just going for a snack but when we saw the freshly home cooked meals coming out we quickly chose to have a meal each and we were not disappointed I had lamb and Anne had BBQ pork and they were both fantastic we also got a pot of tea which was spot on the place is very busy and I can see why you have to book we were lucky as the lunch time Rush had finished but it was still busy the staff were extremely helpful even though it was busy with more people arriving after us. our 1st visit to Roa island but certainly not our last

Excellent home cooked food at extremely reasonable prices, huge portions. Home made cake to die for. Place is basic but very clean. Really is a little gem of a place, love going here. Quality of food is way beyond price charged. Don't expect luxurious surroundings but does what it does brilliantly. Best to book in advance, gets pretty busy at peak times.

Quite simply we couldn't recommend Bosun's Locker high enough! We have already visited twice whilst staying in the Lakes, once for a quick breakfast snack (bacon rolls) and coffee, and then for the second time today for lunch. Today we sampled a variety of dishes from the menu as there were four of us eating and every main course followed by every dessert was perfect, very fairly priced and homemade. I would suggest that booking is virtually essential as from the time they open they are rightly very busy and be sure to bring a large appetite.

Amazing! Great hearty food, tasty and a ridiculously good price. The staff were so welcoming and wonderful with our rather eccentric 5 year old ( he ordered lamb shank 🤣) the cakes are delicious so save some room for pudding.

Lovely little cafe /Ice cream bar situated on the gorgeous rampside looking out towards PIEL CASTLE and the LIFE BOAT STATION. lovely staff, ample parking (although understandably gets busy), great place to park up, walk and picnic and just chill and enjoy the views. Has it all surrounding it , boats, scenery, the sea (with sands so yes you can paddle here), very quiet, very nice, hot or cold food ALL very nice and fairly priced, has indoor out door seating. Definatly one to visit.

Afternoon tea for £8.50 what's not to love! Sandwiches were so fresh and came with a beautiful side salad and Crisps. The cakes were all homemade and tasted SO good. We will definitely return to try all the other dished we drooled at leaving the kitchen!

Lovely and friendly staff, excellent food. Ordered the Cajun shrimp baguette with chips and salad. It was a generous portion, and the shrimps were big, fresh and nicely cooked. Perfect match with the creamy Cajun sauce. The chips were great as well. Crunchy on the outside but soft inside. Will definitely visit again when I come to Barrow in Furness.

Called for lunch, best to phone and reserve a table, I had Chicken & Leek with Tarragon Pie with veg and real mash, from the Specials board, meal arrived, OMG for £7.50 it was huge, standard and taste was out of this world, better than most of 3 star hotels. WILL definitely go again soon.

Unaware of the recommendation to book ahead, we discovered this on a whim & were fortunate enough to seat 2 in an otherwise full house. We were lucky & will be sure to book ahead next time. Service prompt & friendly. Food fresh & fantastic value. particularly enjoyed the salad accompaniment which was dressed well & contained great variety. A real find.. Our usual eating place does not open at lunchtime so was recommended the Bosun's Locker.. It was really nice....staff so friendly and the food was delicious.... It was really busy showing how popular it is but despite being busy, service and speed of the food was really fast. We all said how nice the food was.....Absolutely lovely...... Highly recommended.....and a definite lunchtime venue for us in future....

What a location. Right next to the RNLI station so somewhere great to walk and burn off the amazing food. Firstly do visit the RNLI have a look at the Tamar class lifeboat then buy something from their shop - always support the RNLI. Back to Bosun's Locker, food is fabulous at great prices. Fish & chips are as good as they get. I'd suggest book a table as it can get busy.
