A wonderful cafe, with a great selection of cakes, pastries and sandwiches. They also have specialty drinks, maybe seasonal? Their 70% hot chocolate is to die for, try it if available! Their coffee is amazingly tasty, take a bag home with you- they have roasting their own selection. Staff is lovely, very knowledgeable and friendly- don’t be afraid to ask for recommendations! If you are lucky, grab a table outside and be amazed by the pedestrian traffic going by… this is such a perfect spot!

Lovely staff and lovely food. I came for brunch and enjoyed the eggs benedict with a cup of lapsang tea. The menu is very full with a wide range of options, sweet and savory, meaty, veggie and vegan. The staff are also very polite and attentive without being overbearing.

A couple of years ago, not long opened, I had a coffee in Black Mocha. I was not impressed. Saturday of last week looked in and said I would give them a second chance. Sunday, the following day, I returned. I picked up a bag of of coffee from Cast Iron Roasters. I am asked of chocolate. I again recommend Bare Bones, Bullion and Luisa's. Local? No. Local has merit but never at expense of quality. My takeaway coffee was reasonable, far better than my first visit, definitely heading in the right direction. Not in the top league in Brighton but getting there.

I have had an amazing hot chocolate from here before! But I popped in to get an iced chocolate the other day and it was really strange, like a chocolate slushie, i had to chew the drink and it left a weird coating in my mouth! Lovely service but just not sure about the iced chocolate!

Great food, Aussies will love this place... does the traditional avocado on toast with poached egg. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her halloumi and avocado on toast as well. The coffee is great, they do filter, cold brew and all the normal options. They have a good range of milk alternatives (oat, almond and soya) and use paper straws! The cafe is also very cool; it has a great industrial and minimal aesthetic. Enjoy!

Amazing! This tiny shop front is misleading, there are great seats at the back and upstairs. We ordered the veggie hash - removed eggs and added avocado and oh my goshhhh it was the most amazing thing I’ve ever tasted. Best brunch I’ve had in forever. Good prices, nice staff, quick service. Had a very nice ham and cheese baguette with sweet potato soup. There is seating upstairs and a few people while l was there were happily working on thier laptops with coffee to hand. The place has a cosy feel and the staff are friendly. Also has a pleasant outlook to the street. From the outside it looks quite small but there is plenty of seating inside. Worth a try.

Great little coffee place! My favourite place to have coffee in Brighton...I always visit this place. Friendly staff, amazing cakes, great coffee with all varieties of milk on offer and I also recenlty tried their dark chocolate cocoa with coconut milk which was delicious. The black mocha cake is definitely a must try! Loads of vegan options! ALSO...they are dog friendly which is always a plus!!! :)

We have had poached eggs on sourdough w/avo & bacon, croissant & almond croissant. Everything was VERY good and they have used top quality ingredients. The light and fruity olive oil, the maldon salt, as well as the micro greens are much appreciated! Coffee was also decent (cappuccino & americano). The young gentlemen behind the till was very friendly too. Overall, a great experience and it is highly recommended.

This is my new favourite place to get hot chocolate! A cozy place with upstairs seating & restroom. It has amazing coffee, loads of veggie/vegan options to choose from, & the staff are really friendly. I would recommend the dark hot chocolate - it's pretty much just melted chocolate, but not too rich. A must if you are in the laines.

Being gluten-free, vegan, and refined sugar-free, the raw cacao avocado tart is the perfect guilt-free dessert to go to! Could tell from the taste that they used quality ingredients. Such desserts are not easy to find, so I was quite touched by this. The girl at the counter this morning also very kindly offered to let me try a taster of their hot chocolate (dark chocolate), and it literally felt like I was drinking chocolate!

We went twice we love it so much! My husband devoured a breakfast sandwich with onion chutney and I did the same to the French toast! Definitely the best brunch I've ever had! Me and my friend came in last week, I got the meat brunch and it was INCREDIBLE. My friend had the Benedict royale and it was also delicious. The chef is clearly very talented. The ice coffee was also great, and the staff are so friendly and lovely, can't wait to go back 😍

The interior decor of this cafe is really cute and the staff and service is exceptionally good. My friend and I had their vegan Snicker. I personally thought it was a bit too bitter for me. Their lunch deals are unbeatable, the upstairs area is great for work (especially if the window seating is free), and the staff is simply lovely, making it one of the top cafés in Brighton.

On the pricier end of the spectrum, but very good coffee indeed (sourced from Monmouth), and the upstairs seating is cosy and pleasant, ideal for catch ups. The positives end there though; WiFi gets terribly slow and patchy if more than 2-3 people are using it, and the management has also blocked out all power sockets, so as to discourage mobile workers from charging their phones/laptops.. Not impressed.
