Reviews of Bread & Milk

As with other reviews, laid back and chilled vibe. Great tasting food and exceptional drinks, all amazing quality! Friendly staff and clean and tidy premises/toilet. A bit on the pricey side but worth it for the experience and taste! 🌟

THE ABSOLUTELY BEST COFFEE IN BRIGHTON.
Their cappuccino’s froth is the same you get in Italy, their shop is lovely and chill and the staff js super friendly!!
The quality for the price is really good too.
N’1 coffee recommendation in Brighton for sure - also their almond croissant is to die for.
E. S.
Delicious coffee with oats milk. Small but delicious and freshly made sandwiches. Seating available outside and indoors. Friendly staff. Toilet facilities is clean. Good location.

Loving the vibe in the shop, both inside and outside seating are so laid back and relaxing. The sandwiches were exceptional. Love the coffee too. Definitely gonna visit again!
L. V.
Really nice cosy place. We enjoyed a nice breakfast. I had the vegan sausage roll and my mom had the meat version, some earl grey tea and a matcha latte. Friendly service and great atmosphere for breakfast.
B. N.
Came here on Sunday and had a really nice vegan sausage toasted sandwich. The smoothie I had was lovely, however it was very overpriced. Either way, I enjoyed my food and drink, and would definitely recommend.
B. Q.
We've loved your Sandwiches, vegan sausage roll and hot coffee on a rainy day 🥯🥐☕️🫖🥪
M. H.
Lovely pastry and coffee. Been back for a few times. Standard maintained. Lovely staff with good service. Free water fountain available. Loyalty card is the icing.
Cakes were in huge serves but quite filling indeed. Mine was a bit dry unfortunately.

On a recent visit to Brighton and finding Coffee at 33 closed, it closes at three, I decided to try Bread & Milk a little further down the street.
I once decided not to have a coffee at Bread & Milk, I cannot recall why. Coffee from Pharmacie, a good sign. Loud music not. Covid-19 death trap. I tell girl too loud. She cannot hear me.
Girl clueless on coffee. Chocolate dumped on top. I take it back. She argues with me. My fault for not telling her. My fault that she is clueless on coffee and I failed to second guess. Coffee hot, too much froth and foam. Quality of beans manages to prevail but not doing Pharmacie any favours.
Ambience pleasant, apart from girl serving, let down by lack of a skilled barista to do justice to the beans.
Note: As I learnt the following day, I mixed with a different place similar name. Not specialty coffee as sign says, once was, now Vietnamese food and coffee Vietnamese style with condensed milk (yuk).
Coronavirus biosecurity poor. Door open well ventilated, restrictions on numbers, but loud music blasting out, refusal to acknowledged a problem, let alone turn it down, turning Bread & Milk into a coronavirus death trap.

Catching up for a coffee with a friend? This is the place. Wouldn't recommend for parties over 4 people as the tables are made for small and intimate sits. Well lit and airy despite its small square footage. Seating available outside but mind the gulls, they know the sarnies served here is 🔥. Perfect spot for a light Sunday brunch.

Our fave place in Brighton for breakfast and coffee. We have had the much carbier options and when we are healthy we had the yoghurt Granola bowl. Staff lovely and friendly. Food menu concise and tasty, lovely atmosphere on the corner with a nice bit of sun when the weather's nice. Watch our for seagulls though they can be cheeky but just increases the experience if you ask me. Fab times!!
M. B.
Very nice little place, with good coffee and GREAT almond croissant. Was able to sit here and read for a while on Saturday morning.
A. R.
Great gourmet food, good service, although the place gets very busy and can't fit a lot of customers. Have to book in advance to get a table otherwise it's very hard to get one.

I could go any day for the carrot cake. It has friendly staff and it's clean. ❣️
Á. C.
Best coffee and staff in town ❤️ can not recommend enough!
M. S.
We tried a lot of coffee shops during our 5 days in Brighton and this one topped the lot. The fruity danish, sausage roll, brownie and coffee were all delicious. We were gutted we found it on our last day! Would highly recommend
J. H.
Beautiful coffee and cake. Food looks great!
Chilled atmosphere, bright and airy. Friendly staff!

One of the best coffee shops in Brighton, the food is delicious especially the Danish 😍, friendly stuff, and great atmosphere.

I've eaten here three times and will be back again for sure. I usually have the breakfast option

I live right by here and am lucky enough to have numerous excellent cafés nearby. This is possibly my favourite. Certainly my go to. The food selection range is pretty wide, catering for veggie and non veggie quite well the quality is good, tastes great and it's all good value (for Brighton).
D. L.
Trendy cafe with good coffee, tasty cakes and a nice spot to sit outside.
J. M.
Nice little cafe that's been its current location for a number of years. Great sandwiches.
K. W.
We sat outside in the sunshine and ate fantastic sandwiches. I think they were called 'Reuben' good value for money.
L. G.
Always delicious coffee , they have a good selection of food and are dog and vegan friendly
R. W.
Very considerate staff, excellent service.
A. B.
Quickly has become my fav cafe in Brighton - with a French twist.
M. L.
It was so good we visited twice! Really good veggie breakfast - we chose the mushroom, spinach and egg muffins with hollandaise, followed by an interesting but delicious almond croissant on both days. Nice coffee, good service, and a laid back atmosphere. Would most definitely go out of our way to visit again.
S. J.
So nice to find a coffee shop that is accepting keep cups. The coffee was made with a perfect "no touch" technique, so no infection risk whatsoever. And it was a lovely cappuccino, thank you! Keep it up.
D. B.
Super friendly staff and delicious sandwiches!

Alfresco!
This place has become my new regular! An extremely friendly atmosphere with tasty treats! I would recommend an oat milk flat white and a breakfast bap, a yummy combo for any foodie! Great service, great coffee, great food, whats not to like?
j. w.
Visited today for coffee. Perfect rich brew, good strength and generous cup size. Full fat milk is the normal here (just what I like). Also had things like vegan sausage sandwiches, all very generous, freshly made and appetizing. Can't wait to come back for more coffee and food. Service excellent too. Cheers to the team !
S. W.
Very humble marketing - “Best Almond Croissants in town”, no they have the best in UK!
B.
Small place to have quick lunch or coffee.
Coffee was alright nothing special just normal latte.
N. W.
The one massive advantage this place has over the other café's in Brighton is there's minimal faff, no waiting around, order at the counter, take a seat and wait for the order t9 arrive. A short and tidy menu of fresh sourdough sandwiches, great coffee, pastries and cooked breakfasts. Perfect.
G. J.
Feels like walking in to a kitchen or a pharmacy from the 80's. Good atmosphere, they have vegan options of course, like oat and soy milk, vegan oat bars and sandwiches. The place has restrooms, nice staff and clean environment. I can recommend it, it's close to the Brighton station and to the north lanes, wich are full with shops and restaurants.
K. D.
Lovely spot for lunch. The focaccia with mozarella, pesto, sun-dried tomato and rocket is delicious! Perfect oat latte. Quick service and friendly staff.
S. P.
Visited this little cafe today with my daughter. Best coffee we have ever had and delicious sandwiche too. 👍
S. H.
Lovely little coffee shop/cafe. Suntrap when you sit outside to watch the world go by. Really nice helpful staff. Great food options. Loyalty card for hot drinks makes me want to visit again :-)
D. A.
Decent coffee, nice pastries and friendly staff. Not the cheapest but ok prices.
C. M. (. o. T.
Lovely cafe! Very stylish, good oat milk cortados and great sandwiches on really nice bread. Recommend for brunch on a sunny morning.
P. W.
Great Sandwich. Wary of veggie sausages, warier of vegan sausages but they were lovely. Coffee was really good as well.
L. G.
Lovely coffee and amazing sourdough toasted sandwiches. The halloumi with avocado and chilli jam toasted sandwich is delicious. Lots of vegan options, and the lunch menu looks very tasty. Harissa chicken lavash flatbread will be my choice for next time. Friendly staff too.
T. T.
Your traditional Brighton hipster coffee house. Good coffee, not too expensive. The decor is quite minimal, a bit hard, not comfortable and cosy. You might not want to spend a whole afternoon there.
P. o. T.
Lovely selection of food and drinks
J. P.
Pleasant and friendly staff. Great service. Lovely vegan choices. Great coffee. Nice ambience.
K. D.
Great place to meet.
Good coffee and a large range of other drinks.
Food is spot on and a wide range to suit most tastes.
Recommended as a meeting place before going into the north lanes.
D. S.
I had a good ham & cheese melt and a cappuccino. Very tasty.
l. s.

Best coffee and lunch in town!
J. B.
Bread & milk is great. Lovely sandwiches and coffee. Just beware of seagulls if you sit outside! 😬
J. F.
Nice little coffee shop. Neat and clean with a more than acceptable coffee. Not particularly cosy, with sandwiches and pastries being quite average.
A. G.
Great selection of breakfast pastries, nice coffees and a great atmosphere. It's also great place to sit outside or in the window and people watch.
e.

C. M.
Great little coffee shop and service..very nice staff

Delicious dairy-free cappuccino!!
My only criticism is that there should be a dairy free option which doesn’t cost any extra, usually soy-milk is free
J. H.
Lovely consistent cafe, for both food and drinks. I visit most weeks. Would recommend the halloumi wrap.
C. O.
very cute venue, good food, great service particularly the lovely Irish Chap working there!
D. L.

The service is good, as is the fare that's on offer.
