We're Saturday morning regulars at the Bedmister branch of grounded. We keep coming back for the delicious cooked breakfasts (my son and I both have the "children's" cooked breakfast: 3 items plus toast for £4.75 - perfect if, like me, you're a bit fussy because you can mix and match what items you want). The staff are friendly and the service is super-quick. A great way to start the weekend!

Very nice place pity they don't except £50 notes had to laugh was a first for me but they served full breakfast to my friends and it looked so good I had a club sandwich which was nice and light.

Friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere, relaxing and comfortable with sofas, tables and bench seating. There's also a garden at the back. Usually a selection of local artwork on the walls for sale too. Great choice on the menu and staff more than happy to customise the options for you. Prices are very reasonable and the food well presented, well cooked and served promptly. The loyalty bonus card gets you free drinks if you're a regular too! Our go to choice if we're in the area. 22/11/21 Update. Oh dear! What a strange decision. The new menu has been launched with a really odd twist. There is no longer ordinary toast available on the breakfast/brunch menu! The only option now is muffin or toasted sourdough. Will eateries please stop toasting sourdough, it turns perfectly tasty soft bread into some kind of building material that's virtually inedible and hazardous to teeth!!! How can you have a breakfast/ brunch menu and not include just ordinary toast? This bizarre decision seriously limits our options and consequently we shan't be frequenting Grounded any where near as often. Bad move guys, it's cost you two stars! 13/06/22 Update. After a long break common sense has prevailed and ordinary toast has been re-instated on the breakfast/brunch menu! We discovered this when we dropped in after a long absence due to the toast fiasco. Glad to see normality has returned and now we may well drop by more often.

Disappointingly, the menu has been really scaled down. There used to be loads of tasty, varied options but for lunch you now have far less to choose from. My bacon, avocado and brie burger was good though. The staff, whilst able, also seem disinterested. The venue itself is spacious and clean, great if you have a large buggy.

This is one of my favourite coffee lounges in Bedminster. I can't understand why it's been so quiet in here the last couple of times I've been in here - it always used to be thriving. I notice the opening hours are shorter as well - I live the other side of town so hadn't visited for a while but I used to visit on Sunday nights and I'm sure it was open till about ten pm then. Nice to have the outdoor seating and courtyard area at the back. I feel comfy visiting Grounded on my own.

Updated review: Been again recently and really disappointed with the paired down menu. Hardly any choice anymore. Burgers weren't so great. Pizza deal was no longer valid even though there was still a poster up advertising get a free side with a large pizza. Maybe a change of management, of you like pizza there is still pizza. Fantastic food, drinks, great staff and atmosphere. Quiet week nights.

A great place to go if you just want a coffee & snack or for something more substantial. There is a good range of snack, mains and deserts. Prices are reasonable, not the cheapest, however the meals are a good size and good quality. There is a range of seating from tables to sofas and comfy chairs. The only complaint would be that it can get a little cold nearer the windows and doors.

Bedminster isn't much to look at. There's lots of greasy/cheap cafes around, but Grounded is the best cafe there. Food is fresh, delicious and homemade. The Orange & carrot cake is to die for- you have to try it. I love the latte- so thick and creamy. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Can get busy at times, I've been there a few times but I've never experienced any late or delayed/missing orders with food.

I've written reviews of this place previously and have complained to them a couple of times due to rude staff and the music being too loud. I'm happy to say that this has actually improved, and now the music is a bit quieter and the staff seem nicer too. I won't give 4 stars because for me the music is still too loud but I realise some people like it that way. I'd also like to say that in the winter it's very cold near the windows because the front door doesn't close properly. Any chance that could be sorted? Thanks for improving things though.

A group of us visited last night. We had warned them that there would be a party coming. The service was smooth, friendy and prompt. Ordered a pizza (a lucky luca with everything on!) which was delicious and arrived in next to no time at all. No wait. No fuss. No complaints here!

Have been in a couple of times now. Lovely staff and Quick to serve. A couple of niggles though. It would be nice if tables are completely clean and stain free of tea and coffee. I have only had the eggs, bacon on toast but the presentation is awful. It would not take a minute to cut the toast diagonally and stack the eggs on the bacon on top of the toast. Would look so much more professional and appetising.

The food and coffee are excellent but my visit today (and I go fairly regularly) for my lunch was marred by the fact that an older couple came in and were allowed to bring in their pet Pug. I was shocked that in a place renowned for it's good food should allow a dog on their premises. Only guide dogs and helping dogs should be allowed in the cafe area. Small children are often in there and play on the floor. Has anyone considered that this may be a health and safety issue.

A charming little cafe in a not particularly upscale neighbourhood. Serving a lovely menu of varied world foods that work well for breakfast, lunch or dinner and a fair variety of beverages, Grounded offers a calm coffee-shop atmosphere but suffers from it's location. Staff are helpful, courteous and quick, and the cafe is open throughout most of the major mealtimes. Worth a visit if you are passing through Bedminster, but not necessarily worth detouring for.

Went in here with my keyworker today. I went to the loo before ordering, when I finished, I unlocked the cubicle door. Only to find it was STUCK! I managed to push the door open at the end. My advice to the owner is to get WD40 or something to loosen the door in case you get anymore complaints. Apart from that, the GROUNDED Burger was the best burger I ever had, so compliments to the chef. The cappuccino was excellent. Keep up the good work. Ben

As much as I'd like to give this a rave review, I'm being generous with three stars. I complained ages ago about the music being terribly loud even during the day, and they do seem to have turned it down a bit, so I applaud them, as it was just horrible and impossible to relax. But all the comfy sofas seem to be right next to the speakers so it's not great. But I'm sorry, the customer service is rubbish. The staff are normally sour faced , arrogant and rude.(they may just be very stressed but it's not nice). A couple of times I've just walked out because at the till I get a "yes?" with a scowl rather than a smile and a how can I help you? I also dont like they way they always ask you where you are sitting when you have no clue where you would like to sit at the point you order. It is very pressurising and then you fell like you have to sit where you said you would even if you change your mind. The waitress nearly took away my drink when I went to the loo even though I had left my couat there on the seat, but she took my coat and thought it was left behind. That's NOT responsible it's pressuring, I wasn't in the loo more than 3 minutes! A customer on their own should be able to go to loo without having drink taken away! anyway, It would make more sense to employ a number system like they do in other cafes, just give you a number label to put on your table for your order. I have never got the impression they actually value me as a customer, even though I go in there quite a lot as its the only place to get a soya latte in the vicinity. It'a often also full of kids which run about screaming and being a pain in the arse and screaming babies and mummies talking whatever drivel mummies talk . But hey, who gives a toss when everyone else thinks its amazing. Rock on

Grounded does a reasonable job on an otherwise pretty grim stretch of Bemmie (I live locally). You'll find A LOT of mums with prams and buggies taking time out. On the minus side the background muzak is way too loud for anyone who wants an easy conversation or to do any work.

In spite of it being a copy of the lounge tobac factory model its very welcome in that part of bristol me thinks. It'll pick up the Art studio ladies and dudes from around the corner and probably make loads of cash. Ferguson may well own it via way of the mitchells and butlers corporation. My only advice. . .lose the jackson pollocking of balsamic reduction!! It wasn't even nice in the 90's. I had it all over my cuffs.
