Lunched here today (18 November 2022). Very friendly service, food freshly cooked with excellent batter around the fish. A most enjoyable experience. Will eat at the Lakeside Cafe again. Well done.

Enjoyed a rest whilst taking my dog out for a lovely beach and battery point walk. Had a cappuccino and Eccles cake, water available for my dog lovely staff. Nice little respite before walking back.

I had a very good day here the food in the cafe is very good not greasy and not too hot but mot cold either. Very nice view from the seaside lath and nice to come down from the lido down for some chips. Only improvements would be maybe some goal nets as there is a lot of space on the grass area but very nice location for a day out and £1 duck food is available in the cafe.

Umed and ared weather to go in and glad we did, fair priced fish and chips ... very nice, not greasy and a lovely cup of tea with No chlorine taste I normally seem to find. Friendly enough. (Room for improvement... yes, the cafe looks very tired and get rid of the arcade things in my view and wobbly tables)

Stopped off for a coffee whilst walking along the front ...coffee ok ...but would prefer it served in a proper mug ...poor choice of cakes , just pre wrapped ones which weren't very appealing, could do with keeping an eye on cleaning as spotted dead flies on the windowsill ...no toilet facilities either ...

Very busy appeared to be only two members of staff working on the tills so the queue was never ending, they had sold out of lots of the options but the staff remained polite and worked as fast as they could...

Last time we came we had food served on a plate cutlery This time a lot of things not on the menu and food served in a take away containers plastic fork not great but food was freshly cooked And hot suppose a lot down to covid just a bit disappointed

We had lovely cheese and tomato toasted sandwiches for a light lunch before going for a walk. Cheerful, friendly service & clean pleasant seating area with outdoor tables available too. We went back for a cup of tea after our walk and had a nice piece of carrot cake to go with it. Reasonably priced & doggy friendly too!

A beautiful location for a cafe. Serving hot and cold food, soft drinks and ice creams. With a park and a few rides for the kids to enjoy, a boating lake and open air pool in easy walking distance. A great place to bring the kids for a run or to walk hand in hand with the one you love.

Had kids meal in box which consisted of a drink, pkt of crisps and half a ham roll. When i queried if there was a piece of fruit and/or biscuit/cake i wad told that was it. £2.99 each it was a ripoff. Coffee and tea was nice but no lids.

Staff very pleasant and helpful, coffee and cake very welcome. Very good prices and also good to see the place full. . Always a good sign. Looking through some of the comments and the negative ones seem to follow a very scripted theme!! Could almost have been written by the same person! !! I personally think the staff are lovely and congratulate them on a job well done ..... Thank you!!

not anything like a complaint but i just was amused by it all Ok..ordered coffee and sausage and chips. food and Coffee was actually a lot nicer than expected. The guy at the till did look to be out of his depth even if it wasn't particularly busy. i think the coffee machine was playing up as it took a weirdly long time to get enough coffee out of it to make an espresso ( was one of those one touch bean to cup systems). Said cashier had already closed the Till and moved onto the next customer before giving me my change, and handed me the Expresso sized coffee in the large size cup. I pointed out both and he gave me my change and seemed startled at my request for more hot water for the Coffee i had asked for . On the plus side it's a very nice location with clean surroundings and everyone was friendly.

Does what it should. Next to the lake and playpark. Cakes, coffee, tea, ice-creams.....it's all there. Right next to the sea-front with free parking. The nearby loos are very clean but you will need 20p. Views across the Bristol Channel to Wales so take your binoculars!

Lakeside cafe is adjacent to the childrens play area next to Portishead boating lake. I have been in for coffee on a few occasions but never had a meal there (they serve fast meals such as fish and chips). The coffee is made by a barista to order using professional standard machines. It is a perfectly respectable cup of coffee. The toilets are in a building adjacent to the cafe and you will need to have 20p to use them. In the winter, on a weekday, it is not too busy but on a fine summer weekend it does get full.

Overpriced for what u get. Cheeseburger rubbish. Normal chip shop stuff was ok. Kids lunch box awful. Half a cheese/ham roll, crisps & drink £3. Will be taking picnic next visit to portishead.

For somewhere that gets so busy in the summer and the fact they spend a minimal amount on employing teenagers, surely the food and premises should be better. Very tired and dirty with a poor selection of healthy food for kids.

This is an ok cafe, it gets very busy in the summer, we had the children's lunches, which for what you got was expensive, is wasn't the most inviting of places but for a quick snack it's ok, we didn't sit inside as was way too hot in the seating area!

Went here today for the first time for food as my little boy was hungry, it looks a bit of a mess from the outside and inside and needs a bit of a clean but the food was OK and not over priced like some places I have been to and the staff seem happy and helpful, would go back again when I visit Portishead.
