This is a fun and quirky little place! Good coffee, good tea and good booze, plus a load of games to enjoy. I'd say this would be an ideal spot for a date, if you want to keep things easy and fun, or otherwise a great spot to chill and play boardgames with friends

Excellent coffee, tea, and selection of board games. My favourite games are backgammon and coup but theres tons more :) Both Lilly and Fabian are amazing and so is their staff who always greet us a with a smile and some home baked cake. Recently they're open for drinks, craft beer and sophisticated cocktails - couldn't recommend Playground more. Local, honest, and high quality in the heart of Bristol.

The place to come if you want to drink an espresso while sitting on a swing (though those 2 tables tend to be the most popular). A bit too small to get the laptop out, but perfect place to meet friends and have a catch up. Good selection of boardgames too!

Wow, what a quirky little coffee shop. Has a good a selection of tea and coffee, also has a nice selection of cakes and pastries. The most appealing part of this coffee shop has to be the swing seats they have there. There also plenty of board games available to play as well. Service is very friendly and welcoming.

Had a lovely time with my friend. The hot chocolate was fantastic, atmosphere was a literal throwback to chilling at home with games. Speaking of, they a surprisingly large collection of games. Brilliant staff too. Honestly, the swings were the best part!

I can't remember the name of the chap who was looking after the place on Saturday but he was an absolute legend! We received a great welcome, were advised on the best two player games and enjoyed some boozy cocktails. The prices are very reasonable considering you have unlimited use of board games whilst you're there. Best board game cafe in Bristol!

Such a unique coffee house! We went during a weekday so was fairly empty which meant we got to sit on the swings for ages! Good coffee and a nice place to go, looks as though it would be particularly cosy during winter. The selection of board games around the coffee house is great, giving you something else to do if you fancy it!

My partner and I stumbled upon this place last night while we were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. What a GEM. The cocktails were delicious and made with such skill and care (try the Black Russian). The manager Matt made the experience even better! He took such good care of us and gave us some good tips on what to see while we’re in Bristol. We will definitely be back!

Love it!! Comfortable quirky cafe. It may seem a bit small but that's only because it is so popular. Creative swing chairs that I haven't see anywhere elses: amazing. Love all the games and really enjoyed playing gin rummy over a mocha; which was lovely by the way. One of the most memorable parts of mg trip to Bristol. Deserves more than five stars if it were possible. I hope this shop will still be running for many years to comes.

I have been going to playground for more then two years, i can highly recommend for fantastic coffe and cakes! It’s got such a lovely atmosphere and the staff are so welcome and made me feel like I was at home! I love going in the evening for cocktails and board games! If you haven’t been you need to go and give it a try!!

It was a nice place and a good selection of board and card games. We ordered flat white, hot chocolate and a slice of Nutella bread and paid over £12.50 for the three items, it was a bit pricey for what it was and they forgot to serve us the Nutella bread. After we reminded them, we did get it served. It was quite busy but a lovely atmosphere to it. Quite small so space is Limited(we went on a Saturday night)

After a nice lunch at the Horse and Groom in Westbury, either, a fair walk or a very short drive up a single track road gets you to the top of the hill.There is no better place to spend a morning/afternoon or indeed the whole day than at Westbury White Horse. Average coffee house, very small and became very crowded shortly after we arrived. It seemed to be trying to give the impression of a new and different place, with swing seats and furniture that looked a bit like it was made of scaffolding, but it just seemed to take up space that could have been used to fit a couple more seats. The bathroom had a lot of messages and scribbles on the wall and it was a bit OTT, like they assume everyone who uses the toilet might be depressed..."Life is beautiful", "It gets better", "It doesn't matter what people say, you are beautiful, inside and outside". It's nice to leave a message to inspire hope and cheer people up, but the same message written 5 different ways next to the mirror is a bit much. Mix it up with a limerick or a joke!

It's a really good place, cosy as possible where you can drink a coffee. It also sells alcohol until 11pm which is perfect for a before. This is a happy coffee bar, calm and quiet, with fabulous people working in it !

A cosy little spot off the main drag. The swings are a fun touch! And the owners are young and friendly - the perfect place for solo travellers who are craving human conversation.

Fun, quirky place that serves up some of the best specialty coffee in Bristol. Playground is one of the only cafes I know of in the UK who use Berlin's excellent Barn roastery for their standard range of house coffees. They serve up excellent espresso, but also any of your choice from Barn's current seasonal range of coffees, brewed with an Aeropress, V60 (drip filter), or syphon. Playground isn't currently in Google Maps' recommended list of Great Coffee in Bristol, but it really should be.

Just wow! I wish all coffee shops were as cute, Cosy and quirky as this. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by a very knowledgable and friendly staff member. Looking around some of the tables have swings as seats while there are also other tables with benches or chairs with bars against the wall. There are I’d say at least 100 different types of board games, cards games and books to use while you’re there which definitely enticed us to never want to leave and just stay there all day and night. Between us we had a filter coffee which was perfectly brewed through a V60 and a peppermint tea which wasn’t too minty it was just right and the perfect temperature upon arrival. It looks like there are maybe events held there too as there’s a projector and screen. But all in all I wish we lived close to Bristol just to have access to this little rabbit hole. Cannot recommend it enough!!
