Amazing lovely place. The staff is literally adorable and friendly. A large choice of cakes, you can even ask depending on your proper taste, we have asked for a large cookie and we received an amazing sandwich cookie (not even available from the counter so do not hesitate😍) The place is lovely, lot of different small space with flowers around. Smoothie are fresh Afternoon tea seems just so yummy so it might worth it to come and try it and also take the time to book it as it is really busy on the weekend and we know why. The food is fresh, lot of variety on the menu Brunch are available until 12 but even after you will find what you want that's for sure 😍 Also please not that the crazy milkshakes are no more available but normal ones still are.

We had the most amazing time at the Vintage Bird Cage! The staff were friendly and welcoming, the interior was absolutely stunning, and the food was delicious and presented beautifully. The staff made sure to meet each guests individual needs (even gave the dog some doggy ice cream!); they went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. A variety of sweet delicious treats as well, I can't recommend it enough, and can't wait to visit again! 🤩

All I can say is WOW this place is something else. I have been twice for afternoon tea and it doesn’t disappoint, they give an amazing selection of savoury and sweet delights with a side of scones, jam and cream. It makes for an excellent birthday treat or similar and I’d recommend. The only downside is you have to book months in advance for obvious reasons. Brilliant place.

Spread over 3 floors. Lovely and tidy and clean decor. Not too many tables crammed in. Had a pot of tea and it was a large pot, enough for 3 cups. Lemon drizzle cake was delicious. Table service but really good prices considering. Very friendly staff. Do full breakfasts, sarnies etc. Parking nearby. Uneven paths so care on access.

Went last Sunday it was our second visit here and once again it didn't disappoint I'm normally a sweet tooth 😋 but I decided to go savoury and went for their sausage and egg sandwich in other cafes you're lucky if you get two sausages here there were at least three plus two eggs! I couldn't eat it all coffee great and all reasonably priced too and such lovely staff as well. If you're looking for great tasting food and coffee ☕ then this is definitely the place to go

Fantastic café on the edge of the park. We're not local but found it on Google maps. Courtyard and indoor seating. Varied menu - sandwiches, baguettes, jacket pots and more, especially cakes. All freshly prepared with generous portions. Staff were all efficient, friendly, attentive and professional. Café seemed very popular, but still plenty of room between the tables. Lots of people getting take away cakes. We would definitely visit again. One of the best cafés we've been to.

Lovely cafe and cakery tucked away in a little side road of Yate (walking access from Kingsgate Park). Free parking if you submit your number plate in the cafe. Been here a few times for lunch, coffee and cakes. Loads and loads of choice of cakes - the cheesecake and brownies were especially delicious. Also great selection of paninis and sandwiches etc. for lunch. Want to come back to try afternoon tea! Definitely recommend!

Absolutely love this place I come with my friends almost every day! Child friendly and dog friendly, cakes are amazing and coffee is also. They also sell duck and swan feed in little packets to save feeding them bread (which doesn't have all the nutritional value they need).

The staff are absolutely lovely! I've been to vintage many a time but this was the second time with my 2 year old and 4 month old. Juggling both can be a bit tricky and my 2 year old was desperate for the bathroom during our meal, one of the staff members watched our table for us. I find going out to eat daunting due to toilet training and having a little one but everyone was so helpful! Little things like placing hot drinks away from children (many places I've been haven't even considered it!) And taking our plates to give us room. Their food is fabulous and it's always been yummy and reasonably priced too!

It was my first time visiting this lovely cafe, we were quickly greeted at the door and escorted up to the avery seating area, the staff were incredibly friendly and polite and quick to take our order, my jacket potato looked and tasted delicious as did the toasted sandwich which my girlfriend ordered, we both thoroughly loved our visit and will be coming back again, thank you.

If you haven't visited yet why not?.... I love this place. I haven't ever had a bad experience here. The staff are super friendly and the food is awesome. This place is great for a catch up with friends or to treat a loved one. You can grab a cake to takeaway or sit down and challenge yourself to an extreme calorie freakshake. The afternoon teas are amazing but you need to book way in advance.

I absolutely love the Vintage Birdcage Cakery! The VBC is one of my favourite places to go for breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea. Their afternoon tea is incredible - I would say slightly on the pricey side compared to some Afternoon Teas but you definitely get what you pay for. I always end up taking some home with me as there’s so much. I have been to the VBC many times for lunch and I love their sandwiches - the BLT is my favourite. I have also been to the VBC for breakfast and I normally get their bacon sandwich on granary bread! Their selection of cakes / tray bakes is amazing and of such a high quality. The decor of the VBC is just simply stunning, it’s beautiful. The snug is such a cosy little area and also beautifully decorated. The VBC is also perfect for coffee & cake and to just catchup with a friend. They also do take-aways so if it is busy or you’re in a rush you can always enjoy the VBC in the comfort of your own home or at work! I love going to the Vintage Birdcage Cakery and all of the staff are just super lovely!

Went on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Will warn you now that the chef has Sunday's off so breakfast is limited. I had waffles with bacon and maple syrup, it was good, the waffles were soft and fresh, the bacon was of excellent quality as was the maple syrup. Had this with a coffee which was superb, beautiful fresh roast taste. Others had bacon sandwiches, tea cakes and crumpets and all were finished off but we came here for was the freakshakes for the kids, huge milkshakes in lots of different flavours covered in a multitude and variety of toppings, they all polished these off. Nicely decorated place with limited seating inside but lots outdoors. Just outside is a wonderful park filled with lots to do for all ages and a duck pond with a couple of nesting swans (we even got to see the swan eggs). Not the cheapest but definitely worth it with everyone being very happy with their orders. Staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely be coming back.

Nice spot for some coffee and cake - I have had a slice of Victoria sponge from here before and to my liking it was rather dry but decided to visit anyway. Coffee was delicious and so was the caramel brownie. Cherry bakewell was to die for, the only issue I’ve had with it was a thick layer of icing - absolutely unnecessary on this gorgeous piece of cake, made it way too sweet. The menus are a bit confusing - we were given two sets, one of which contained duplicated page with breakfast selection, the other set included drinks list instead. Seemed a bit messy.

Amazing afternoon tea as always! Book in advance if you want to have afternoon tea here, it's always super busy because it is so fantastic! Do check their facebook though because sometimes they have last minute cancellations. The Christmas afternoon tea we had today was incredible. Everything was delicious, freshly made and we were so full we had to bring some bits home. The snug was lovely and cosy, perfect for our group. We even had crackers to pull, a lovely touch! Parking is available but limited, you fill in your reg at the counter.

Amazing, again. The staff were super friendly and knew their stuff (safety and menu items). The prices are fair but the food is amazing. I had crunchie cheesecake, it was huge. I was glad I didn't have anything else (except milkshake). The outside eating area is now undercover which I think is great and nicely decorated. Carparking is free but limited and you have to give your reg in to the staff to get your free permit. The rest of our order was great too, and correct. Only complaint my son (aged 13) had was that the crisps were a bit stingy for the extra 50p that was charged! Toilets available but I didn't go so I don't know what they're like although my wife and son both did and didn't say anything bad.

One of the best cafes in the area - the Vintage Birdcage Cakery's cakes and sweet treats are absolutely delicious. Had their salted caramel brownie cheesecake the last time I went and it was wonderful. We also really enjoyed the afternoon tea (you'll need to book for one of these and it could be a little wait, but it's worth it) was outstanding! The staff are always very friendly, too. It's pretty popular, especially on a nice day, but it's worth a wait for a table.

When we got there the amount of gorgeous looking cakes on display was so overwhelming, I wish I could have had them all! A very beautiful and serene experience. Having travelled almost 3 hours to visit a dear friend, she bought me to the Vintage Birdcage Bakery. Upon arrival it appeared to be busy with families, but we were offered a table in the 16+ area, meaning there would be no children around. It was a stunning room, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We were introduced to our waiter who was fabulous. We settled for a caramel lattes and carrot and lemon cakes. We were not disappointed. The coffee was was lovely and the cakes were amazing. Quite frankly I can't wait to visit my friend again just so we have an excuse to visit the Vintage Birdcage Cafe again..maybe for lunch next time! Thank you for making a reunion with a wonderful friend such a special exoerience!

I reviewed Birdcage about 3 years ago, at which time I had not had a good experience. I acknowledged at that time that every other review was positive & either it was me or they had just had a bad day. As promised, I paid them a second visit today & what a change of outcome. The food was excellent. The staff were polite, helpful & prompt. I have nothing negative to say about my visit today. Highly recommended on the strength of my experience today.

Really love this place normally but Saturday's lunch was disappointing. Where is the lovely granary bread we are used to? It was stale and shop bought! The fillings which are normally generous (but not this time) and the Coronation Chicken filling was dry, instead of being in a nice sauce like normal. Stopped having the Prawn filling, as that had been changed to cheaper rubbery prawns.. Please don't change quality ingredients, this is what makes you better than your competitors out there. We had been noticing slight declines but hoped it would get back to normal at some point (maybe a change in the kitchen?) but unfortunately it seems to be getting worse. Come on Birdcage, keep your standards up and be different from the rest of the places in Yate!

One of the BEST afternoon tea venues I have visited, we sat inside a lovely quaint room with a few tables, decorated with fairy lights and bunting... Lovely selection of sandwiches, wraps and quiche, followed by an array of cakes and scones... There were 8 of us for a friends birthday and we were all totally stuffed!!!!!! Great first experience at the Cakery having recently moved to the area. It came highly recommended to me and certainly didnt disappoint. This will hopefully be the first of many visits. I had heard about this place for a long time through social media so had to visit while I was back. It does get very busy (even on a weekday lunch time) so make sure you arrive early. There is heaters outside which help a little if you can’t find an indoor table, dogs are welcome outside which is a nice touch. The food was very good and the freakshakes are worth a go

Hidden gem! Decided to come here for the first time on a rainy bank holiday Monday, and it was just the place to lift our spirits. Delicious sandwich, nicely presented with simple but well above average salad, a few crisps and some "homeslaw" - would definitely order one of those again. We also ordered a piece of the rainbow cake, which side from being bright and cheerful was lovely and light. The white hot chocolate seemed to be made with steamed milk, such as you'd find in a good coffee, which worked very well. Finally, because we thought we had to, we ordered one of the "freak shakes" - there were many different flavours available, we chose raspberry and white chocolate. All I can say is wow (and look at the photos)! That's a jam doughnut on the top, and it was a very light and fluffy one too. We will definitely be back: whether for savory or sweet, the cakery has proven itself most capable. Prices are very reasonable, and on a nice day takeaway and sitting in the park seems like it world be good - there is outdoor seating available in the courtyard too.

Went to the Vintage Birdcage for a birthday treat. Had to have one of their freshly baked warm fruited cream tea scones with a pot of tea☕. It was so VERY tasty that we had to try out some of their other cakery 🍰 offerings. As we couldn't decide we went for Coffee and Walnut sponge cake, Carrot cake, Lemon drizzle AND Cherry Bakewell!! Have to say that all that was shared, and not just for me🤣🤣🤣😁😁. It was also the first time that we had ventured upstairs into 'The Aviary'. I have to say it's a beautiful addition to the 'Birdcage'. It's also table service in there, so this makes the experience extra special xx💕💕

The Vintage Birdcage Cakery ticks all the boxes. The food is of an exceptional standard and presented beautifully! The staff are welcoming and very helpful every time I visit and cannot do enough for you. You can see why it is so popular and a lot of it is down to the management and their approach to their business. It is a hidden gem in Yate Give the Vintage Birdcage Cakery a visit but I advise to book in the winter as seating is limited. Well Done Nicole the owner you are doing an amazing job!!

This tea shop is probably one of the best in the area However,probably due to its success it is sometimes let down by customer service issues Last time I visited it was annoying for someone to work filling the cupboard behind my chair Rather than wait for the space to be vacated If you have a voucher for afternoon tea be prepared to be disappointed as you cannot book a table until October😩 Rendering your voucher as useful as a chocolate teapot Not good
