Is a comfort place to meet up with friends. Cakes a bit sweet but many choices of teas for you to have, love it.
Good services 👍 staff nice and tea's cups, plates and decorations look vintages.
I'll be there again with my friends and family.

Lovely tea rooms -it was an amazing ( unexpected) experience!
The tea was great - there are lots of types of tea you could chose from.
The had all sorts of cakes but I could not try them on this occasion
Service was great.
Definitely on to do list for tea lovers 🥇
P. H. (.
Been here many times with friends and my husband since around 2019, the food is always so good and the atmosphere is amazing.
There's a large selection of different teas (I usually stick to the black tea) and it comes in a pot, which I'd say contains around 3 or 4 cups worth, and the china cups and saucers are always mismatched- Which I love! It's always a nice surprise finding out which teacup you'll get this time.
Would definitely recommend!

Gorgeous Tea Room. Came with my 2 best friends for a late brunch/lunch and was exquisitely blessed with stunning service. I ordered the “Pancake stack with Bacon, Blueberries and Maple Syrup” and it was delicious! Also had a Luxury Butterscotch hot chocolate - wow!! Atmosphere is relaxing and calming. Waiters were kind and very helpful with my clumsiness. Would absolutely bring my family and recommend to friends! And fair pricing! :))

The atmosphere is quiet, but rich. The tables are wooden, the chairs leather, the service amazing. The high tea service is amazing. You don't go hungry with their portions. The tea selection is bountiful and and varied. I can't wait to come back and try other teas!

Came here on weekday afternoon walking around Cardiff city centre and found this hidden gem along the arcade way. They do nice cream tea displayed on those racks. Very yummy scones indeed go well with delicious clotted cream and strawberry jam. Fantastic atmosphere and really cozy feeling you are in a proper tea room! Definitely would recommend people to come here.

Good place to hangout with friends . Good afternoon tea selections. Their sandwiches were super tasty same with the cakes, scones. Fresh food.Good customer service

Stopped off for our Christmas family shop brunch. Not been to the tea rooms before. Relaxing and enjoyable experience. Sat under the heater in the arcade. Kids had pancakes with strawberries and nutella. Hubby and I enjoyed eggs benedict. All very nice. With a pot of white tea to wash it down. Pleasant place to watch the world go by...

Simple traditional breakfasts and teas in a lovely arcade. I had thick multigrain toast with a generous portion of scrambled eggs. I liked how the butter came separately and the eggs itself weren’t too buttery. Friend had the avocado and poached egg on same toast. The egg was slightly runny and the avocado was nicely flavoured. We didn’t have a tea but they looked lovely as well. Only downside is there is no barista coffee, only the filtered version

A lovely tea room in a quaint shopping arcade.
Great Food.
Good service.
If you find yourself nearby, you absolutely need to check it out!

Amazing and cosy place in the arcade of Cardiff! Wide selection of teas from black, white, herbal to green and more. Offers a very delicious brunch menu and afternoon tea, also have authentic English scones. Definitely recommend!

Always a delight, lovely atmosphere and surroundings and a must visit when ever I'm in Cardiff. Great choice of dairy free and gluten free. Had some lovely mint chocolate cake.

This place has such a buzz about it, the decor is stunning which adds to the experience.
I've had afternoon tea, lunch and breakfast on separate occasions. Every single time the food and service has been outstanding.
F. C.
Very well decorated cafe, with lots of choices for tea. The only bit that is not perfect is that they serve with chipped tea cups.
A. M.
I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed going.
They are located in the arcades (Queen Market, maybe?). There is indoor seating and "outdoor" seating. While I enjoy going here, sometimes it can be hard to get service. The staff is usually quite busy.
During the early part of the day they serve a range of hot food and tea. Sometime in the afternoon they serve cold sandwiches, cakes, afternoon tea, and so on. They do a nice afternoon tea for two with two scones and a pot of tea or a cream tea.
The atmosphere is quite comfortable. It is a place for a nice chat but is not a place for a long stay for working (like a coffee shop).
For those with mobility issues, the outdoor seating can be used.
M. P.
A nice find in the Cardiff arcades. A quirky, nicely decorated place, with a massive selection of teas. Although not a tea drinker myself was almost tempted to try with the large selection of flavours available and the descriptions given. However went for a black forest hot chocolate and a sandwich, both of which were very nice, no mean feat to eat the sandwich as it was a door stop.

We were visiting Cardiff for the day and found this beautiful tea room. It was busy at around brunch time, and we were surprised and touched when the person who seemed to be the manager told us he'd prepared a table for us inside, as we had asked. So kind! Little things like this make such a difference! Food was absolutely delicious and we had a wonderful time! Cheers to the staff for making us feel so welcome!
C. M.
Very classy place. Lovely staff and excellent food and presentation! Made our last day in Cardiff very memorable.
S. R.
Cracking tea room in centre of Cardiff. They have hundreds different varieties. Thoroughly recommended.
Jam packed too.
G. P.
Been there to have the afternoon tea on my birthday. The entire staff was so nice and helpful! It was a great time! Excellent tea selection and food quality!
The place is amazing!
5 star indeed!!!
B. B.
Had a lovely festive afternoon tea here. Lovely fresh sandwiches and very wide selection of teas. Delicious Selection of sponge cakes. The afternoon tea is served upstairs away from the hustle and bustle and is unrushed and relaxed. My tip is to ask for extra boiling water to enjoy extra tea when you order. Also provided a box to take leftovers home.

We were the first customers of today 01.06.2021. Lovely staffs, delicious brunch menu. Perfect breakfast to start our day before heading to Cardiff Castle adventure which was only 5mins walking distance from the Tearoom to Castle 🥰🥰🥰
M. K.
Such an excellent tea room experience in Cardiff. Loved the food and tea. Beautiful smiling people to serve you with love. Please do visit if you’re around.
M. P.
A decent pot of tea and good food.
Best bit was the dismissive attitude to anyone who expects a fancy made up name frothy coffee like what you would get from a well known tax dodging high street coffee shop
WE ARE A TEA SHOP!
(They do sell coffee though 😁)
R. S.
Pancakes and bacon strawberry and blueberry with maple syrup absolutely delicious
T. M.
Have always wanted to try this place but whenever I pass, it's always crammed (explains why its so good). Managed to get a seat outside but it was far too chilly so asked the waiter if he could find room inside. Luckily a couple were just leaving so he promptly cleaned the table and called us in. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast which I was quite surprised to find the toast dry (no butter) but the eggs were so creamy, they more than made up for it. Will definitely be calling again.

Absolutely lovely. An afternoon very well spent.
Chose to do afternoon tea to catch up with some old colleagues that I'd not seen for a long time, and we're all based in Cardiff so local lockdown allowed us to meet for it. Looked around some chain places but no-one had great reviews for tea until I found this place, lovely reviews and independent so perfect for supporting a local business as well as seeing what all the fuss was about.
I made a reservation, no deposit required and I was informed that it would be £19.99 each. Turned up on the day, it was a Saturday afternoon so quite busy and had to queue for ten minutes, but as soon as I was seen too I was temperature checked, then shown to a reserved table upstairs inside. Very pleased to be inside as it was cold, and nice to be upstairs away from the regular business of the place as customers were in and out all the time. It felt more private and quiet.
We were given the tea menu with about 10 pages of tea to choose from, an amazing selection, so many choices. I chose a caramel cream tea. We were asked if we'd been before, and we hadn't so it was explained that they would come back with our tea first, then the stand which would contain sandwiches on the bottom, 2x scones with cream & jam, then a slice of cake on top with some other smaller treats. This all arrived minutes later, we each had a different type of cake on the top so we could swap if we wanted and pick the best one for each of us which was nice.
Food was gorgeous, the sandwiches were a really thick bread, I think there was ; cream cheese & cucumber, cheese & tomato, rocket & 'something' (I'm not sure what!) and a chicken mayo type. The scones were very crumbly, one with raisins, one without. The cake was divine.
Nothing was too much trouble and the service was excellent. Given that you had 2x scones, I did find that the small pots of cream and jam weren't enough, so I simply popped downstairs and asked if we could have some more, which again arrived within minutes to be fair. We also asked for more hot water for the tea which had cooled down and that came too. As we were there until closing and we'd all stalled as we were so full, we were kindly offered takeaway boxes to take the rest of our goods home which was great, there's no pressure to finish all the food and hurry off so you can enjoy the rest at home.
So delicious all in all, would definitely recommend for a sweet afternoon out.
D. J.
Excellent Tea Room in the narrow alley, but what a place. Small efficient and succulent cakes and bakery products. Tea has variety and wide choice. Must visit in Cardiff
M. T.
The sandwiches here were devine and the staff was very accommodating for gluten allergies. The ambiance was also incredible!! Very eclectic and vintage, yet cozy.
T. S.
Good food good service in the middle of Cardiff. Not cheap but worth the money
M. R.
A very nice tearoom serving fresh homemade sandwiches and cakes. The sandwich was big. Certainly a substantial one. A bit expensive, but worth it for a treat.
T. P.
We came here second time for my husband birthday! People were very supportive and professional! It’s a lovely cosy corner for chatting and sipping a good cup a herbal tea or coffee! All food looks fine and appetising! Clean and comfortable! I recommend gladly!
T. G.
A lovely tearoom in a beautiful location in the centre of Cardiff. Food, service, ambience and decor were all excellent. Highly recommended.
C. T.
Really lovely tea room with a nice atmosphere. Massive tea menu. I was boring and went for the breakfast black tea but I can honestly say it was the nicest tea I've ever had. Also had eggs royale, which was delicious. Went in September 2020 so during distancing. Didn't book, had temperature taken on way in and staff wearing masks. Will definitely go here again.
M. M.
I visited this place many times for brunch, desserts and afternoon tea. The place is lovely and the service is great I highly recommend it.
M. S.
Booked afternoon tea for my Aunt's birthday treat. Superb selection of sandwiches, scones, cakes, and a vast selection of teas! The waiters were very knowledgeable and great service despite a very busy Saturday.
G. :.
Great place to go for High Tea, it was busy but the staff were great and very helpful there was slight confusion with our order but nothing to be overtly upset over.
The decor is great and very comfortable, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, I would definately go again
A. S.
Lovely beautiful tea room! Cream tea was delicious! Quick service, 100% recommended
D.
Cozy place in very nice location in one of the most beautiful Arcades. I had Afternoon Tea and found it too rich compared to other ones that I enjoyed more, although this one is supposedly prepared following traditional recipes. Tea list looks large but is missing few classics must-haves and tea origins and details that I would expect from a tea house menu.
J. M.
We chanced upon this place for breakfast as not much was open. Really glad we did. Had a lovely eggs royale and a cream tea. Wasn't that expensive and very tasty. Nice decor and tea was served in China cups.
n.
This place doesn’t have table service. The hot choccie had marshmallows, cream, and a flake. It cost £3.99 and tasted stuns. Really cute place with great decor but may struggle getting a table so you may want to book. We got the last one when we went at 16:30. (Also was loving the bathrooms.)
T. S.
Genuinely lovely service. Food and drinks all fab. Thank you so much to the kind lady who helped me with my computer! All lovely staff and great place to come
M. M.
Nice afternoon tea although the scones were slightly undercooked but overall a great experience in a comfortable setting.
L. G.
Beautifully quaint tea shop serving a selection of breakfast and lite bite options with cake and it's very own tea menu
R. S. F.
This is the second time I've visited this month, both times were outstanding. We were seated fairly quickly, the wait staff were lovely and very knowledgeable about the tea selection and cake selection. I had rooibos tea and chocolate cake, the chocolate cake was so gooey and dense. I wish I had a second piece! I will definitely be back again!!
A. T.
Had a lovely breakfast in this place. The design of the tea rooms really set the scene and the pancakes I got was absolutely delightful. Would absolutely recommend!
z. z.
Delicious brunch and a very beautiful place.
R. R.
Amazing tea house! So so so charming and cosy. The staff is really friendly, the menu is absolutely delicious. The chairs are comfortable and the music inside is great. I definitely recommend this place.
J. E.
Lovely little place in one of the little alley ways, cakes were a bit dry tho but the tea was good.
D. D.
The most amazing tea shop I've been in for a long time.
Amazing tea selection and cakes
Good food and nice friendly staff which makes a change in so many shops these days
Comfy chairs and free wifi
Amazing decor and feel to the place
Can't recommend this place highly enough if your in Cardiff this is a must
Just wish i could give it 100 stars
I. R.
If you want to feel like you’re having a coffee in a movie; come here! Vibes were on point. Will pay for the privilege, but worth the cost.
C.
A quirky cosy place just a stone's throw away from Cardiff castle. A wide range of teas & also coffee available. I had the afternoon tea, the sandwiches were chunky & tasty. Macarons were delicious! The only thing that I thought could be improved is being able to choose your own cake, as I was part of a large group the cakes brought up were randomly selected for us, there was orange & raspberry, mint chocolate, lemon & red velvet, when asking if we could change the cakes we were asked to swap amongst ourselves & I ended up with a flavour I didn't really want, & also more milk could have been left on the table for such a large group although the waiters were all attentative & happy to get more milk when requested sometimes it's nice not to need to ask. Definitely worth a visit, it won't disappoint!
d. b.
Every year on my birthday i come here for a nice birthday breakfast. Really love their afternoon tea as well. Lots of variety of teas to choose from
R. B.
Nice selection of teas and good cafetiere coffee. Friendly and prompt service.
J. S.
Nice place to rest and have tea and cake
S. J. H.
Been here twice and both times the food and service was perfect.
If your visiting Cardiff, give this place a look it really is brilliantly quirky. 😁
M. O.
Tea for two! A good rest in between sight seeing and shopping on a rainy day. Scones were fresh and warm..huge tea selection..also served a few different types of drinks too! Seating is limited..
E. C.
Great cafe in town, in one of the most beautiful arcade. If you want a special cardiff experience which is drinking afternoon tea in a beautiful cafe in a historic arcade - then you can't miss this one. Beautiful decor, and lovely food.
C.
A very nice tea room but missing a children's menu.
V. A.
Brilliant place in the week. Very busy weekends then the older teapots come out. Not always great condition but staff happily change them for you. I still head for this place every time I'm near it.
B. A.
We came across Barkers Tea Rooms whilst exploring during our first visit to Cardiff.
We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, the friendly staff, the location away from the busy streets. The food, both vegan and non vegan, was excellent and beautifully presented. I had the best ever vegan pancakes there. We enjoyed eating at Barkers Tea Rooms as well as Barkers Coffee Rooms so much that we visited three times during our 6 night stay in Cardiff Bay.
L. B.
Just such a fabulous place! It was so busy on my visit that I was given a table in the arcade but with the added heaters it didnt matter. Delicious sarnies and lovely atmosphere.
M.
Tea rooms are hidden away in the arcade and have an excellent selection of food. I ordered one of the sandwiches, for the money it was excellent value. The seating is a bit cramped and if you sit "outside" you do have people watching you eat, but it's a small price for good food in a peaceful setting in one of Cardiff's lovely arcades.
K. C.
Delicious food and quirky drinks. Love the super tasty hot chocolate and the various teas. It was my fiancé and my 1st visit to the City and it didn't disappoint. We are looking forward to visiting again
e. i. i.
The food looks so delicious here it almost broke the camera filter on my phone. Tasted amazing too. Staff lovely also :)
S. C.
Lovely little tea room, staff really friendly. Afternoon tea and the hot chocolate was absolutely amazing! Would definitely recommend and go back there 😊
K. E.
Very good afternoon tea at the tea rooms
Very good value for the money
21.00pounds
Pot of tea or coffee included
Service very good
Polite pleasant staff
Nice afternoon outxx
M. G.
A wide range of teas and coffee's available. Service was really good and my egg's benedict was spot on
E. T.
Massive breakfast sandwiches. Fresh food in a nice quiet and bright-lit setting. Overall a good place for a snack and some tea.
I. T.
Great atmosphere, staff is lovely!
The food is good, however a bit overpriced for what you get.
S. G.
Where to begin ! In the Morgan Arcade Barkers tea room .An example of how teas are served makes teabags ! Look sad. A variety of teas and more on offer . The picture shows a blossom flower opening out when hot water infuses for an aromatic display of pure indulgence .
S. B.
An absolute gem of a find. Excellent staff, very attentive and polite. The food and drinks are excellent. Lost a few hours in here, and didn't even know it. So relaxing. Will I be back if I'm in Cardiff, most definitely.
M.
Lovely tea, I removed 1 star for the jam that came with the scones - it was more of a jelly! Would of like to see some conserve jam
S. W.
Friendly staff, delicious tray bakes, and the best hot chocolate I've ever had.
R. C.
Amazing place with delicious teas, cakes, and coffees. The chocolate milkshake is simply sublime, perfectly decadent without being overtly sweet. Everything is beautifully decorated and very cosy. The area and seats are very comfortable and are great for when you need to wind down after a long day. Staff were extremely friendly, polite and efficient, providing an immaculate service throughout our entire stay. Very grateful to see the tea rooms taking such amazing precautions with covid (track and trace, temperature measurements, waiting outside to be seated), making me feel very safe and protected during my visit. Highly recommend!
A. W.
Great and beautiful place with kind staff and tasty cream tea. Man on a bar knew everything about tea, that's good sign to try something new 👍
I.
I love having brunch here. Pancakes and porridge choice is the best. Make sure if you're not a fan of cinnamon though as it comes with the porridge. Great service!
C. S.
delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. really reasonably priced too
E. H.
The food was gorgeous, the surroundings are really quaint and olde worlde tearoom style and the service was very good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for afternoon tea and at £15 per head it is very good value for money.
R. P.
A very romantic tea room where we enjoyed vegan afternoon tea .This place is high on our list as not many places that does this.A good find .
M. A.
Nice, fresh and amazing food and drink for afternoon tea
M. W.
What a lovely find. Had the best bacon, brie and cranberry panini that I've ever had. The atmosphere is fantastic. I even loved the toilet! Pop in for a pot of tea.
S. C.
Beautiful setting for an afternoon tea. Delicious too!
A. G.
Lovely surroundings, food delicious, staff really helpful good value for money.
M. L. M.
Stopped in while traveling last spring and it was one of the nicest parts of the entire trip! I would go to Wales again JUST to return to this cafe! If I lived in Cardiff I would spend as much time as possible there. Lovely atmosphere, luxurious but cozy and comfortable. Their brunch is no joke! My fiance and I split a fairly small stack of pancakes with blueberries which were just wonderful (not quite enough maple syrup for us Canadians but the pancakes hardly even needed it). Their black tea with rose was the best tea I've ever had, even my fiance who is not a tea drinker loved it! I wish I could buy a tin of it!
F. K.
Excellent coffee and breakfast. Very comfy and friendly. We love it 😍
B. D. K.
Lovely comfy & relaxing setting with great menu choices. The food was delicious & staff very helpful.
C. W.
Nice food, friendly staff & good atmosphere.
However, I didn’t agree with the procedure for track and trace as the email, phone nos. and names of everyone who ate at the restaurant that day was displayed.
It was a bit concerning how quick the hot food came, my chicken panini had quite little amount of chicken and I didn’t like how pushy they were to pay the bill - like bringing the receipt right at the start and bringing the card machine when we ordered drinks without asking.
I would come again, but just a few little issues.
G. J.
nice brunch, but I wish they do full breakfast!! 😁
D. C.
Lovely tea rooms tucked away in Cardiff. Extensive menu available. China tea cups and plates. Good service.
A. C. (.
First time ever having afternoon tea. It was incredible!!! Scones and clotted cream were spectacular, and the jam was as great. The pistachio cake was really good. LOVEEEED the macrons. Not usually a fan of cucumber finger sandwiches, but these ones were good. Definitely recommend if you want something nice for a good price!
S. W.
Lovely place and very kind staff. Would be here again when I can. Comfy and tasty
P. H.
Nice food and good service but unfortunately where we were sat was very cramped and uncomfortable.
S. “. H.
From the moment you walk in you get a feeling of a well placed, finished, thought and popular place....plenty of seats and tables upstairs and down to place your self down....just loved the tea leaves and the food that came out was gorgeous....we'll be back
J. P.
Very nice
Nice food
Friendly staff
K. J.
Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Staff were lovely and decor is always pretty to look at. Just wish we had more time to spend there.
G. R.
The tea was very good but it's not clear how much you get per order or the cost. I personally can't drink 4 cups in a row. Not sure if sharing a pot is an option. The scones were good but overpriced.
R.
Disappointing. Fairly slow service, though they were busy. Tables are too small to fit two plates and two drinks. Food was only adequate and a little cold.
Not great.
A. V.
Probably my favourite place to come to when visiting Cardiff. Incredible teas and the breakfast pancakes were delicious!
E. F.
Very relaxed and cute vibe, the waiters were really nice.
C. M.
Fantastic place for breakfast or brunch. (I’m sure the afternoon tea is great too- I’ve just never been for it!)
I’ve had the avocado toast and the eggs Benedict. Both were absolutely delicious. The location of the restaurant is in a beautiful arcade. Inside of the restaurant is a cute, cozy spot. If you’re by yourself or with a group of 4, it’ll be a great place to relax and choose a drink from their wide variety of tea.
Would absolutely go back!
r. p.
Very nice. Not the place to go if one of your party wants a coffee. Huge selection of teas available and good food too.
M. S.
I visited here with a group of students. We had delicious cream teas with lovely sandwiches , scones and cakes. There are 2 or even four "units" in two locations in old-fashioned arcades in central Cardiff and one has a lot of very cosy seats . Disappointingly , despite my traditional English tea being served in a nice teapot,it didn't stay hot for long and the cups were pretty but too small .
F. A. O.
One of the best tea room I have ever been.
There is a wide range of teas, food and desserts, the staff was so friendly, polite and grateful.
Furniture and atmosphere are wondering, it transports you to 20's.
Even toilets are gorgeous.
S. M.
Excellent tea room. Thoroughly recommend a visit and if you do, try the rose hot chocolate with all the trimmings.....absolutely delicious and tastes just like Turkish delight in a cup!
T. J.
Lovely little place! Tastefully decorated with many wingback chairs 👌 drinks and food are great but it is a little pricey.
陳.
Very nice place! Super cute and great selection of teas. It’s a very cozy setting which is very clean and tidy. The toilets are also very clean.
My only complaint would be that because of the layout, seating is a bit cramped and limited and it’s difficult to get around people if it’s busy
S. C.
Visited on a busy week day lunch time. Short delay for a table, which was fine as they were busy.
We enjoyed out meals and teas. We would visit again
V. P.
First time at the venue and I must say they exceeded all my expectations from service, food quality to value for money. Looking forward to our next visit.
C. H.
Me and my partner go here every week for tea and warm scones. They are our highlight. So very delicious. The environment is so cozy and almost remote from the city. The food is wonderful too. Each flavour has been put together well to make it burst in your mouth. I do recommend this place to anyone
K. J.
Had a lavender Earl Grey tea and the nicest scones! It was busy but not loud with a great atmosphere
I. M.
Friendly staff and very nice food. Do a good range and options for gluten free and vegan.
P. S.
Fantastic rustic venue. Beautiful Victoria architecture, with a dash of Parisian flare! Massive and huge variety of teas (I suggest the Kenyan white! ) and an excellent selection of food accompaniments. Highly recommend the afternoon tea option. Service, price, quality, Barkers had it all.
Will be back soon.
S. L.
Excellent food in generous potions. We liked that they use good quality bacon and fresh bread. Would recommend the Eggs Benedict and the Pancake Stack. Friendly staff ... hard to find fault. Traditional feeling comfy city atmosphere.
B. M. P.
Lovely place! Totally worth going there, not just for tea, but also for the beautiful decor.
M. R.
My favourite place to take any of my friends that want a unique Cardiff experience. The decor keeps you curious and the staff are delightful. For any international looking for a proper British teahouse experience, this is the place. Getting there is half the fun as it is set in a cozy arcade. The food and drinks will keep you coming back to try the lot.
R. C.
This place is just cool, unique and a great atmosphere. They have the 'doorstop' sandwiches and toast which is ace! Good quality food, they take pride in making sure it's all top quality. Went there with my girlfriend and her friend and loved every moment. We sat outside in the corridor and it was quiet but still had a buzz about it.
A. B.
Amazing tea (best rooibos I have had in ages!) and a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended! :-)
A. A.
ALWAYS my go to tea room in Cardiff. This place is beyond comparison in the city. I cannot give it enough stars. Service is lovely. Food is amazing. The best scrambled egg in town and the afternoon teas are without parallel.
H. C.
This place looked lovely and the food was good but service just a little lacking. We were a group of 7 but not demanding at all. My friends hot chocolate was cold and when she asked the waiter he didn’t apologise, just asked ‘do you mind if we just heat it up? Not make a new one’.
So much promise but staff just seemed a little annoyed we were there...
S. G.
Ambiance a'plenty in this beautiful tea shop! Mismatched china and comfy seats, it is the absolutely perfect realisation of what I imagined a tearoom to be. I'll be back earlier tomorrow to eat!
ETA: I came back every day of my trip, and tried some delicious new teas. Feel free to ask for a recommendation, the staff are all really friendly and helpful with getting you something you'll like.
H. W.
Been going here since I was a child. The location is great and takes you to the old arcades. The food is great and people are lovely. Never had a bad experience here
O. B.
Barkers will always have a special place in my heart. They are a cornerstone of the Cardiff arcades, and you can tell how they've managed to get themselves there - everything about this place is perfect.
The decor, the selection of food and drink, and the attentiveness of the staff is all top notch, and makes for a truly wonderful customer experience.
Would highly recommend if you are visiting Cardiff!
G. M.
Charming, cosy little tea shop with a vast selection of teas! It is a small place so would highly recommend booking in advance if you plan on going during peak times. The afternoon tea is delightful, and the whole place just has a lovely atmosphere. My favourite place to have lunch in Cardiff!
S. S.
Food great, limited coffee selection (hence being a tea room) . COVID safe, with comfortable quirky seating. Would visit again.
M. C.
First time in Cardiff and my friend bought me here. Really lovely place. Comfortable. Food portion is just right and the music is perfect. Staff are very friendly as well
S. G.
Excellent avocado toast; world class bread, plus an egg.
By applying some form of heat to the bread they manage to transform its physical properties to something more suitable for brunch.
I’m led to believe they did something similar to a raw egg. Or they’ve discovered a new variety.
Whatever it is, it works
b.
Have not had the delight of trying their hot food but there's always an incredibly cosy atmosphere and the staff are beyond pleasant to deal with.
J. H.
Fantastic atmosphere
Excellent service as always even with social distancing
Highly reccomend a visit.
During covid advise to pre book for afternoon tea so not disappointed ❤
A. L.
Excellent food and good service in a busy environment
J. L. L.
Awesome place! Great breakfast, between the scones/cakes, healthy fare and variety of teas, we had an awesome time. Really cool atmosphere too, and super comfy seats! Definitly recommended to anyone
G. B.
Super tasty and staff were lovely and knowledgeable about the different teas :D
a. j.
What an absolutely wonderful place to go for a cup of tea. Fresh flowers on all of the tables, beautifully decorated, very lovely staff and all homemade cakes.
Without a doubt my new favourite place to get tea and cake.
T.
Fantastic food and drink and great atmosphere

Cardiff is a great eating out experience but if you are looking for quirky, quality and quantity, Barkers is the place to go. I am a green tea drinker and love coming here to sample new teas. Although the food menu is mainly snacks, I would still choose to visit Barkers as their portion sizes are larger than other similar places.

It is a must if you love tea! Historic place and lovely decoration. There is always room upstairs. I usually go there to meet with friends and have a tea or a coffee and this place feels very cozy and relaxed. Tried the afternoon tea once, and in my opinion it is very expensive for the food you get, and actually the best of all was the tea.

Love this place. Very quaint. Beverages and food are delicious.
Atmosphere is just great, staff are all very welcoming and friendly.
The tables are always cleared as soon as their guests leaves and are cleaned to a high standard. They always feel fresh and are not sticky.
Highly recommend you visit this delightful place.

My favourite place in the whole of Cardiff! When I need to get away from London and work this is my go to! Amazing coffee and cocktails! Strong WiFi and great vibe.

The food was good, staff is great. But it was very noisy inside from all of the dish and culinary washing and cleaning, very annoying when someone wants to have a nice calming tea.

Lovely atmosphere at the tea house but a couple of things they could put right. We ordered bloomer sandwiches and they were 3 inches deep. Couldn’t fit them in my mouth, tried a knife and fork but couldn’t cut through the 1inch crusts. I saw other customers having the same problem who ended up eating the pieces of bread separately then eating the filling with a fork. Please make the sandwiches and bread less dense! Brown tea pots also too heavy to carry 2 on a tray. Your staff shouldn’t have to keep apologising to customers for this.

Fantastic ice cream & gelato!
Not tried anything else although it all looks good!

Charming tea rooms in a Victorian arcade, off the main shopping street in Cardiff. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The hot chocolates are absolutely fabulous!

Tea selection is amazing, food is sooo tasty, interior decor is simply beautiful.

Absolutely amazing afternoon tea in this place, and waiter was unbelievablely nice.

Nice cafe lovely decor bit expensive but we'll worth it rather than sit on chipboard tables in Mc Donald's.

The most amazing lunch and tea I've had in ages and in such beautiful surrounds.

Food was alright, customer service was okay. My friend got a luke warm hot chocolate and when she brought it up with the staff, the response was "do you mind if we just heat it up instead of a new one?". The staff member didn't apologise.
Also it's quite expensive too.

Loved the food and ambience at Barker's. The home-made cakes are lovely and so is the tea. One of the really good brunch places in Cardiff.

Lovely selection of teas and cake! A really calming place amidst the hustle and bustle of the Arcades - a must visit for any tea lovers!

Would have happily given a 5⭐ but there was no brunch to rate as the kitchen had closed early and the panini I had to settle fir resulted in me approaching the counter after around half hour to enquire of it's whereabouts! The venue tho.....sweet!

Fantastic chicken tarragon bloomer with lovely thick bread and mulled wine to die for!

Beautiful tea room, and the food is delicious. Soft drinks were a little expensive, hence the four stars, but the coffee and food is reasonably priced for the high quality on offer.

Great place. Cosy. Comfortable. Friendly. As the name suggests they sell a wide variety of teas and, unusually, one type of cafetiere coffee. I was tempted in by the eggs Benedict and wasn't disappointed.

The only place to go in Cardiff for Afternoon tea. After a busy day of shopping or sight seeing.
I think I have tried everything on their menu from breakfast to jackets Potatoes.
I love this place Coffeebarkers - barker tea rooms yummy

Friendly staff, lovely tea and huge sandwiches

Such a cute little tea room. We preferred to get the eggs benny and a sandwich instead of the afternoon tea and it was delicious. Service was great.

Until today i would have given them 5 stars. My sandwich was in the wrong section (they are too cool for individual lables), but admittedly that could have been a patron. However when it was toasted it was place on a napkin which immediatly stuck to the cheese. The solution- just cut off the cheese. I wasnt too impressed however i would like to think that they might have replaced it with one had I not taken the last of what was the wrong panini. Despite that I think its a lovely place to spend some time and has a good selection of teas.

The Barkers tea rooms are very popular for visitors to Cardiff, especially if you want to relax and have a good meal. You can cancel chose meals from an extensive menu.
