N. M.Stopped by this place for lunch today . My wife had a jacket potato with tuna mayo which was huge, it came with a side salad. I had a chicken mayo sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was delicious with lots of roast chicken. Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and would go again
G. T.We found the Olive Tree after Thornton's closed. We love it, staff are nice and kitted out like old Lyons! Best of all are their toasties which are very well presented with some nice little touches. We make a point of going into Derby just for their toasties alone. Nice one folks.
D. H.Visited for the first time today and very pleased with the staff, establishment and food that I received. There is a large menu of excellent priced food and even an OAP menu which you dont see in the main food hall in the Derbion. There are clean toilets and the staff are well dressed

W.Sometimes you don't want to eat off a some beautiful welsh slate, sometimes you don't want your chips *dusted* in anything, sometimes you just want a traditional, reasonably priced meal to eat during a busy day in town. This is where The Olive Tree comes in. Hot and cold food, clean and accessable, friendly accommodating service.
A. W.I went in yesterday for a ham and cheese toastie and a latte the food came out lovely and hot and the food was very nice and tasty I will have to go there again.

However, the steak pie was crusty, dry and steak overcooked and hard. The gravy was like water and cabbage ok, but looked slap dash. It was my first time here, but hope subsequent visits will improve.
Till service was sluggish too and frustrating if in a queue.
This place needs fine tuning and it will be top notch. Seriously guys, the steak pie needs improvement big time.
J. D.Good place for comfort food, quite a large markup for quality of it, bread spread with margarine instead of butter and sausages are a bit questionable. Very friendly service and adhered greatly to the new COVID-19 procedures to make me and the people I was dining with safe.
