Reviews of Cafe No. 33
R.
Kept running by it and saying I need to go in and finally did! The carrot cake was outstanding. A nice selection of savoury pastries as well. Very polite staff.
Only downside is these advantages make it a bit busy!
M. M.
Really cute cafe shop, I had tea a phenomenal sandwich with pastrami - honestly have to try - and my friend had coffee and apparently it’s out of this world (I don’t drink coffee!)
M. F.
The halloumi, avocado and hummus flatbread was delicious and full of flavour. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The best lunch we've had during our trip to Edinburgh. I would highly recommend this place!
L.
Very good coffee and cakes ! Even if it’s not home made :/
R. S.
Stockbridge has some great little places for coffee and this is one of my favourites. A nice, relaxed atmosphere, and has really pleasant & welcoming staff.
A great place to sit and relax while drinking excellent coffee.
H.
Really friendly place, food looked lush, wish I hadn't just eaten! 😍 Good coffee and lovely staff.

Lovely Place ❤️ Wonderful Coffee and flatbreads were just delicious !! Maria was very friendly. we will go back again. Highly recommended.

We loved the abundance of fresh ingredients used! We really recommend the mozzarella-pesto-grilled veg wrap / flatbread / see pictures. The service was really nice. Mattias finished his in about 16.37 seconds. We also had a gluten free friend with us, yet there sadly weren’t any gf options. We recommend to increase the portions a bit for the price and to eat it by the river :)

Excellent little coffee shop/ lunch spot. Lovely flatbread sandwiches!

Came here on our first day in Scotland then went travelling around Scotland for three weeks and just couldn’t find coffee anywhere else that was better than here. Cosy, and small atmosphere and felt like a locals place. Highly recommend the drinks as well as there range of pastries sandwiches, etc!!
H. M.
Was enticed by the lovely looking flatbread creations in the window. Enjoyed a delightful lunch that did not disappoint. Hours later, still thinking about the complex and perfectly balanced flavours. Would highly recommend for a nice light lunch.
The staff were kind and very attentive.

Great coffee and brownies!
Very nice staff and a cosy seating!
J. O.
Really nice comfortable place with friendly staff and brilliant coffee. Food is a selection of bagels and wraps pre made that can be toasted along with various cakes and sweets
D. N.
A nice little coffee place! Yummy pastel de nata, cool interior. Good for a quick stop.
C. K.
Just perfect lunch shop! Having a lovely veggie flatbread with all the flavoursome touches.
M. W.
Nice little café,staff very much happy to serve a table and coffee ☕👍 with fresh brownie was lovely.

Very nice food and coffee. Nice staff and atmosphere. I love the Pastel de Nata, I think they're better than those I've had in Portugal.
E. M.
Great, dog friendly cafe. Coffee and sandwiches were delicious. Staff were so friendly and made our pup feel right at home, including free doggy treats!
D. W.
Didn't have enough food stocked for our group of 6 (presumably it's not freshly made as it's just what's in the window) and also don't display their prices (two of our group got something anyway and it seems to be around £4.50 for a fancy sandwich).
Bit of a disappointing visit, especially as the food did look good - which is why this isn't a lower rating
N. M.
Lovely independent coffee shop. Fab range of cakes and quality coffee. Bench seating, access has small step, reasonable room between tables.
v.
Love their sourdough sooo much!
C. M.
Lovely place, really good coffee and very nice staff. Nicolo makes an amazing iced coffee.
M.
Great cappuccino and pastels de nata. Lovely atmosphere
D. W.
Good coffee but when we ordered 4 flat whites, they were delivered one at a time over 15 minutes, so I can only conclude some training might be required. Nice vibe, with some interesting and fresh light bites. Don’t like the way the cakes are openly displayed uncovered at nose level! Small might be beautiful but this place could do better.
E. B. R.
Very nice place. The staff very kind, specially María, for repeat 👏😌
W. C.
Stopped here three days in a row for breakfast on our trip to Edinburgh- everything was great! The bagel sandwiches were all delicious- the coffee was excellent and we tried a few of the baked goods which were good too! The environment is cute and the staff were all really nice, plus the prices were all totally reasonable!

Nice wee coffee shop with good food.
I've been in about a dozen times since I first posted a review. Always been good. I went in yesterday with my wife for the first time post lockdown. Unfortunately, despite a sign in the window, no personal details were taken to help with 'track and trace', if necessary. Nor were they taken from anyone else sitting in the cafe.
So sorry but I won't be back. No 'phone number or email address to get in touch with owner.

Delicious Cinnamon Buns. Quite a few cafes in Stockbridge now, and this is one of the best at the moment. Very friendly staff, and my other half reliably informed me that the coffee is delicious ( I am a tea only type of bloke ). Great cakes, and I was so impressed I took some cinnamon buns home.
M. B.
Lovely staff, reasonable food (flatbreads, filled croissants etc) and great coffee. The selection is a bit limited, and more hipster than comprehensive, definitely don't come here seeking a fry up!
J. N.
Friendly staff and great food. Good options of sandwiches and cakes.
D. P.
Great coffee but service can be very slow if crowdy. Very limited seating so you have to try your luck!
Food selection is good. Veggie and meat toasted sandwiches, hot soup and cakes
N. P.
Highly recommended! I had a very tasty cappuccino with nut milk and vegetarian sandwich. Very friendly staff, will definitely go back again.
J.
The best coffee in Stockbridge. Worth lining up for IMO.
F. C.
My favourite local coffee shop. Their coffee is the best and the staff are all friendly efficient and experienced. Good choice of food including vegetarian and excellent Portuguese custard tarts.
K. H.
Nice place, however the atmosphere was flat. Felt a little underwhelming, food was ok. We had 2 sandwiches, one toasted (wasnt warm on the inside, was just warmed on the outside) the other not. Seemed to be quite artisanal without the style.
Wouldnt rush back, we were just hungry.
C. J.
A great place to lunch, coffee and relax. Lovely prices not too expensive which is rare in the city, so keep it up! Imaginative food combinations and lovely flat breads and cakes, great coffee.
A. C.
We had a lovely breakfast in this cosy little cafe... Family time away, it finished off our weekend perfectly, food great, coffee excellent, & staff so so nice & kind... We will definitely return 😋👍 ( & the Portuguese tarts were excellent too, yum )
C. E.
I've tried so many cafes in Edinburgh, and even though many are very nice, this is still my favourite for a delicious mocha! Well priced, love the decor and allows dogs!
M. E.
Seriously one of the best brownies I’ve ever had (salted caramel). However, I was pretty uneasy about the fact that the staff were not wearing masks.
M. C.
Best coffee in Stockbridge. They use Williams & Johnson (great coffee) and it's made flawlessly..! The pastel de natas are great too!
D. G.
