What a lovely place! Breakfast was delicious, I had the avocado toast with Egg and my partner had the Scottish breakfast and both were incredibly delicious. The coffee was great as well. The staff was lovely 😊 one thing, if you are driving it may be a little hard to find parking. We went on a Thursday morning and found parking in a nearby street but keep in mind it may be tricky on other days when the area is busier.

We stopped here for lunch while waiting on someone at the Spire Hospital. It was really nice! The staff are really friendly and they do a loyalty card. The salmon bagel was beautiful and very filling. I would definitely recommend them!

First time but not the last. We loved Café Vigo from the beginning. Not only their food is really good (top points for the veggie burguer and the chocolate cheesecake), their staff was friendly and helpful. If you are in the area and want to eat something, don't think twice.

Busy wee place of a Saturday morning, which is always a good sign. Friendly staff. Great coffee, really yummy eggs and avocado. Go here instead of the holiday inn breakfast if you are staying there. Much better value and tastier.

Super busy the day I had lunch here, and I can see why! The food is absolutely delicious - I had a very tasty chicken caesar wrap and it came with a proper little salad and a helping of chips. The tea was in a generous pot. Service was great too - the waitress was run off her feet serving all the tables and selling takeaways, but never lost her cool and was cheerful, friendly and efficient. She deserves a raise!

The cafe have good food, I ordered Mexican chicken wrap Vigo special. With french fries generous amount with pepper and salt sprinkled with peri pero sauce. For sauce you can ask for other options too,you have mayo,chilly garlic,ketchup so on. For drink I ordered a mocha, which was beautifully presented with a lotus biscuit. Loved the quality of food💖😃

I went in on a Monday morning for a couple of coffees and breakfast rolls. I wanted vegetarian fillings for the rolls, not on the menu but they staff were happy to accommodate. Cheap, cheerful and delicious coffees and rolls. It was a quick visit as I was taking away but great experience, highly recommend.

Excellent service. Ordering through the app gets you discount and no waiting around for you. Cosy and quiet cafe, with an interesting interior. Comfortable seating and different types of seating available. Although we went before shutting time (incorrect times on Google maps for a Sunday). The staff were very polite in not making us hurry but did alert us upon eating what time they closed. Kind helpful staff, accommodating and great tasting food, soup, fruit coolers and coffee. Best lentil soup in Edinburgh. I would definitely come back here, I wish I had noticed this place before! It's child friendly, however I could see older customers here all the same. Looks like Cafe Vigo would suit a wide range of customer. The takeaway service, which you can order on the app for collection too, I think brings more custom and frees up seating. I reckon it would would be difficult to find suitable/ free parking close, the bus stop is only 350m away.

Totally forgot to take photos in Cafe Vigo, but would strongly recommend. We had - pancakes with a little pot of maple syrup, bacon and banana. - crushed avocado with scrambled eggs and bacon on brown toast, absolutely delicious and delighted with the perfectly cooked eggs. Also, a full fry up, and everything was very freshly cooked and top quality. Staff are friendly, no problem in tweaking orders from the menu. Well worth a visit.

Love Cafe Vigo. First tried it after starting work just down the road. Always had great service and never had any bad food. I mostly always get a wrap and have tried the chicken and bacon and the Mexican wrap - both delicious! They have also catered for a few events at work and can't fault them.

Came in for a breakfast around 11:45. Sat at the table. Waitress brought the menu, we asked about the different breakfasts, what’s included in them. Ordered Vigo breakfast, traditional breakfast and vegetarian breakfast. That was around 11:55. Exactly 12:00 ( both me and my wife looked at the watches) waitress came and told us that breakfast is only served till 12:00. Ok fair enough. Maybe chef cleaned his equipment and prepared for the day menu. No complaints here. 45 minutes later breakfast is served ( 4 plates) to the next table, where people arrived around 12:20 and placed their orders even later than that. Didn’t ask why we we treated differently. Probably some VIP locals UPDATE Answer to cafe Vigo’s reply. Breakfast is served till 12:00- fair enough. Is it last orders cut off time? Is it food coming to the table cut off time? If last order- then we were earlier than that. If food coming to the table- then order cutoff time probably around 11:30? Anyway a bit confusion here. More surprising that chef could prepare another 4 breakfasts much later, but not ours earlier. But that’s your business, you set the rules. It’s just small reminder for future customers- plan arrival earlier or book in advance

I was a weekly visitor to the cafe in the Edinburgh store pre-lockdown. This was my first visit since it had reopened. The cafe is small anyway and now can hold a maximum of 7 customers. Please note rhus is a small area at the rear of the shop - the main shop can still have customers over this number. Also you can get take away drinks, which also helps keep numbers down. As for the drinks? I had a hot chocolate which was a mix of salted caramel and 100% dark chocolate. It was delicious. Best hot chocolate I've tasted anywhere.

Love this place. A popular family cafe which always seems busy. From the menu you might think greasy spoon but it's much nicer. Had a wrap which was very reasonably priced and came with chips and a side salad, was stuffed! Nice coffee too.
