Reviews of Edinburgh Coffee Cake
P. S.
Nice wee cafe, nice selection of sandwiches, breakfast rolls, soup, cakes and coffee. My egg and bacon was nice and tasty and flat white went down well. Great customer service

Great place for a cup of tea, sandwich, soup, toastie or cake. Toastie came with a bit of fresh salad and coleslaw. Plentiful pot of tea and bone China cups. The lady serving was very pleasant too. Lovely little cafe.

Edinburgh Coffee Cake was like a home away from home for me while I was abroad in Scotland for five months. Gay and Sarah, the lovely women working there, are the nicest people I've ever met. They genuinely care about their customers and never failed to brighten my day. The cakes are amazing, the soup is fantastic, and not once was I disappointed by the food I got there. Also, the prices are very reasonable, meaning I could afford to have cake multiple times a week! I highly recommend Edinburgh Coffee Cake, it's definitely one of the best places in Edinburgh!

Love it cafe, tasty fresh made food, great prices and even have GF bread and great range of DF milk (including oat, soya, coconut and almond). Really friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and soothing music. Very quiet though so not somewhere I’d come for a chat, but great place to work or read a book.

I just went for a lovely porridge with honey & cinnamon which is part of a all day service.
Delicious and the ladies who run the cafe are lovely and friendly. Keep up the great work.

It’s open again!! I am so so happy my favourite wee cantine has reopened after the lockdowns. Amazing cakes, great all types of coffee, sit in or take away, safe with following the guidelines. I have had daily lunch and coffees there for years there, the owner is super kind and generous I could not recommend this cute place enough!

Lovely little cafe great for cakes (as the name suggests). They also offer an Afternoon Tea, although we did not try it.

Happened to drop by one morning and found really satisfied with all there. Comfortable environment and highly reasonable price (especially for students), and the owner who kindly reminded me a student discount is available with a valid card is always pretty nice. I do love the coffee and cake served here and a cake of week plus coffee/tea set is a good bargain indeed. Will be here again! :)

Great little place, well worth a lunch visit. The home-made soup is always delicious and they do great soup+roll/toastie deals for nice prices. I've been served by different staff on each occasion and they've all been very polite, cheerful and eager to please (which is not the case in a lot of other nearby places).

They have the best Flat White that i’ve had in all of the city! Oh, and there cakes are delicious as well! This place makes for a good stop to relax, grab a cup of coffee, and a slice of something sweet after rushing around the city during the Fringe.

Truly the nicest people around. Great food and coffee in a cozy atmosphere and always greeted with a smile. The owners took me in like family while I was studying abroad and made me feel at home. Would recommend highly.

Attentive, genuine and friendly staff. This lovely family-run café has the best sponge cake in Edinburgh. I am not joking. Their Victoria sponge is to die for. Besides their supreme cake and great coffee, they have a tasty and varied menu ranging from baked potatoes and paninis cooked to perfection, to soups and salads. I eat here as often as I am able. Highly recommended.

I had the BEST egg mayo (egg salad) sandwich of my life. The service is always great, everyone is really friendly, the specialty drinks are amazing, and the cakes are a nice treat. Would highly recommend!

They serve gluten free bread/toast so there is a wide range of tasty food available to customers who want to avoid gluten/wheat. What a luxury!

Nice service.. Had afternoon tea, served on cake stand, sandwiches, and cakes, tea served in teapot with tea cosy and lovely China cup and saucer.. Good value for money and nice atmosphere.

This unassuming little cafe serves up delicious sandwiches and hot breakfasts (served all day). The only downside is the limited seating.
