Potentially the best coffee I've had in the UK (and first I've had in Scotland, sets a high standard!) - the porridge was also amazing. Great atmosphere with friendly staff and I cannot recommend it enough.

I always have excellent pour overs at fortitude coffee! The customer service is always great too, coupled with funky decor. They have a good range of coffee you can buy plus Wilfa Svarte grinders / brewers. This Fortitude in Stockbridge feels slightly off the beaten path, despite only being 2 min walk from the main road. This is great as you’re more likely to get a seat during peak hour. It also has a lot more floor space than York Place. Either way Fortitude know how to make a great coffee! My regular spot on the weekends.

My partner and I had been looking for somewhere for brunch and stumbled across Fortitude whilst searching around Stockbridge. I had the French toast (pictured) which was absolutely stunning and delicious. My partner had the avo BLT and loved it too. The coffee was one of the best we've had in Stockbridge. Lastly, the service was wonderful, the staff members in there were kind and helpful, and the store was clean and tidy, and had a great atmosphere too.

The cheese toastie was phenomenal. Worth the visit here alone. The staff were lovely, and the coffee very good. The ambience was muted due to most other people using the space for work rather than pleasure.

Ah fortitude was lovely. We had a great pour over in there. The coffee was delicious and very well made. They have the really great looking espresso taps around and the whole feel of the place was really nice.

Move over Artisan Roast because Fortitude has taken the title of best coffee in the capital. An excellent, cosy little shop that serves spectacular coffee. I usually have a double espresso but anything you order is great. They also have a nice selection of cakes and treats as well as sourdough cheese toasties. Highly recommended.

My and my partner have visited today as Fortitude was on our to-go list for specialty coffee shops whilst visiting Edinburgh. From service, to decor, to coffee everything exceeded our expectations. The place is absolutely beautiful and very open. There’s not one dirty table and as soon as someone leaves, the staff clear it with no hesitation. There was also a good selection of snacks/baked goodies and they offer vegan options too! And coffee… you can choose between espresso based or filter (batch or v60) coffees. You can choose the beans too, which Fortitude roast themselves. Our coffee was very well extracted, fresh and full of flavour. It was genuinely so lovely to have a proper good cup of coffee. I think the only thing that we were surprised to see was that the serving cups weren’t pre-heated but it’s not really a “flaw” of any sort.

Lots of lovely brunch options here. Today it was avocado with chilli and chives. But if you haven't been before, try their cheese toasties. All very reasonably priced.

The staff were really friendly, the décor was lovely and the coffee was excellent. Very pleasant to sit in for an hour and a well run shop. Bonus points for the great cinnamon bun.

I came for lunch with friends this Sunday, the team got us a table after a few minutes even though we didn’t have a booking. The food and coffee was all great, the staff more than lovely and just a generally great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning when I’m next in town!

For a coffee nerd, these guys have some fantastic beans- they normally have at least 4 to pick from and are pretty regular with specials, all roasted within the past month or so. They make a great coffee to go too, however you like it!

Absolutely wonderful coffee shop in a beautiful area of Edinburgh. The shop is very nicely designed and the staff welcoming. Most importantly, however, the coffees are delicious and there's plenty of options to choose from. Definitely a must-visit for any coffee drinker whilst in the city!
