I went for lunch with a friend while in Leith, first time back there in a couple of years, so delighted to see it still thriving. The setting is great and we got a window seat which was ideal. A big (almost too big) selection of food. Really great quality of food, with the best ever selection of tray bakes, yum! The Coffee tasted fantastic and service by the staff was really prompt and friendly. Highly recommended if you're in the area and looking for a breakfast, brunch lunch or just coffee and cake.

Great place! I’ve just finished this beautiful chicken benedict for breakfast and it was so yummy :) They have a great menu choice and nice atmosphere. This one relaxing hour for myself was exactly what I needed being a mum waiting for my son to finish his settling in session in nursery :)

Excellent place! My cappuccino was beautiful and I had the chorizo and manchego sandwich toasted and it came with salad and coleslaw and crisps, all for under £10. The staff were friendly and the building is so pretty. I will definitely be back.

The eggs florentine is the best I’ve ever had. Unlike others I have they use quality spinach. Having lived in Italy the quality of vegetables matters to me a lot. I try not to go here for coffee alone because I will be tempted to order it and fail my diet! However I’m at a loss anyway because they serve Nutella mocha and how could I not order that?!

I like this place, started coming here just after lockdown, and keep coming back, it's a nice 13 miles on the bicycle from home, so just the right distance. Food is lovely.

Best lunch ever! Great cakes also, yummy!! We had a salad for two, I don't remember the name but it was the only salad for two, and it was delicious. It had a mix of 10 different samples of salads presented on a wooden table, all very good and rich in flavour. For dessert we had the carrot cake and the millionaire shortbread, both mind blowing, and definitely the BEST carrot cake I've had.

The tray bakes look amazing, it's too hard to pick because they all sound and look yummy. I'm not sure about where they placed. I saw a customer take his mask off to talk over them (uncovered) to the staff peering over them. I was glad I'd chosen mine first but made me wonder how many customers had been before and spoken over the top of them. My friend was given the wrong wrap and my pannini was burnt.

Live nearby and go all the time. Obviously can be a bit noisy just now with the tram works but hopefully that will be less of a problem for this area soon. The food is amazing and the staff are always attentive. I've had quite a lot of the stuff on the menu and its all great but I have to say that I LOVE their sweet potato fries and burgers!

I adore Rocksalt. It has been mine and my partner's Sunday morning brunch/lunch venue for years and the quality of the food and service is always great. It was a saviour for me during lockdown when I could pop along and get the delicious salad boxes during a hard working from home day. Such a fan. And the bakes! My god, the Crunchie slice is a favourite of mine. Highly recommend!

Their baked goods are delicious, as are their sandwiches. One of the few places I can think of that sells Fentimen's Curiosity Cola, Rocksalt is a brilliant cafe. Granted, it's pricey, but the quality you pay for is well worth it. It's also a very nice venue itself - nice high ceiling and wide open windows.

The food is so nice at fresh at this place. I've been a few times now with friends. My only issue was the toilet. There was only 1 open, it was busy with people queueing and when I visited it could have done with a good clean. Also to comply with covid19 I think they should consider paper towels rather than the hand dryer. They were running out of hand wash. Maybe regular checks could help with that. I would be back but I think they could improve on the above.

The coffee in the cafe is Great and they are very consistent. It is also served in a nice big cup. No pretentious tiny glass of coffee. My only issue with the place is the inability to fry an egg. They are always solid even when I ask for a soft fried one they cook it solid. Not sure why?

Food was good. However, when paying for the bill i noticed it was unusually high. I asked the waiter to double check our bill, with an impolite manner he assured me that it was correct. I paid and then checked my receipt when i got home and they had added two extra items to our bill. Very annoying especially after asking the waiter to double check.

Very spacious for safe social distancing and child/baby friendly. you can fit a pram in the disabled toilet which has baby changing facilities. Lots of hand sanitiser. Great menu with reasonable prices, very tempting Stuffed vine leaves, Greek salad and Baklava, if you like Mediterranean/middle eastern food as well as standard stuff like baked potatoes and burgers and paninis

BEST POACHED EGGS IN EDINBURGH! This morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Rocksalt. Me - the best poached eggs I've ever tasted, with amazing bacon and artisan toast, plus 2 delicious decaf lattes. Him - full Scottish (Bacon, Egg, Sausage, Black Pudding, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, Beans, Potato Scone, Hash Brown & Artisan Toast) with a pot of tea. We meant to take photos but had already stuck in - sorry!! Lots of vegan, veggie and salad options - plus great cakes. I got millionaire's shortbread and bakewell slices to go - yum! (In case you don't already know - their soups and wraps are amazing too!) Plenty room to social distance and good service. These guys really do ROCK - thank you Rocksalt team!

Such a shame that people who smoke don't have the common decency/courtesy to refrain from the despicable habit when in close proximity to others - particularly in places where decent people eat. Food was fine and they kindly took my food off the bill for muddling up my order/running out of things. HOWEVER, their COVID safety or lack there of was a little concerning. Tables not wiped between customers, salt and pepper and ketchup bottles also left on tables and not wiped between customers. No social distancing etc, café was at full capacity. It was a busy Saturday and I understand that cafés are struggling, it just didn't seem like they were doing much to minimise risk.

A good cafe, very popular at lunchtime. You can make up your own sandwich or salad. You can buy a sandwich and soup for £4.95 They use a lot of homemade ingredients and use quality ingredients. The staff are very friendly.

Can be great... Or not Good choice of sandwiches and salads, large portions (enough to share), good selection of cakes as long as you have a sweet tooth. Coffee is variable quality, could be excellent or terrible. Staff today seem to be new and not fully trained. We just had a date slice, I can say it was VILE! the mushy gooey date filling was overwhelmingly flavoured with cinnamon. Just called it a cinnamon slice! Service is variable, usually good if not too busy.

I often go here for lunch and always come away happy. The salad boxes are great value and the spicy cous cous and chicken will blow your mind - if you can pry the recipe out of them let me know! If you are sitting in it has a generally okay cafe vibe, pretty relaxed and good value for money. The staff are nice and friendly and the cafe has disabled access and is child friendly.

Nice high ceilings and relaxed atmosphere with a nice selection of coffee and soft drinks. However it was a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand you have tasty coffee and a nice looking place but my visit was let down with no menu to hand, staff who wouldn't respond to an "excuse me" three times in a row, food items never arriving despite being written down. And finally I was given a chorus of bangs and electric drilling noises while I tried to eat my food! I think maybe the owner was knocking up a wardrobe in his spare time. So in my opinion a mixed bag of lovely and annoying. Wouldn't risk a repeat visit but I do wonder if the mystery driller got their DIY all sorted out!

Visited the Edinburgh location. Loved the warm, inviting, casual atmosphere and decor. The mezze plate was incredibly delicious, such a great mix of cous cous, olives, goat cheese, greens and other items— just the kind of healthy lunch I was craving. Nice spot with a huge range of breakfast options. If avo toast us your thing this is the place as they have a dedicated section on the menu full of different avo toasts 🥑 Service was friendly and fast and the food was very good. They were very accommodating of our large group (8 people) and moved tables so we could sit together. The latte art is simply outstanding … although we couldn’t agree if it’s a bear or a panda 🤣 what do you think??
