Visited for lunch to treat myself after a hike up to Arthur's seat. Very friendly welcome and staff! I ordered the chicken burger, it came with fries and coleslaw, good price and tasted amazing. The chips were perfectly cooked. Also ordered a hot chocolate which was yummy. Would definitely visit again!

Stumbled upon this place while looking for brunch and so glad we did! Really good value for money and the best panini’s we have ever had. Great portions and they were served with a delicious Turkish couscous and side salad. Wish we found this place earlier during our trip! 100% worth visiting.

Massive portions! This place is such a good value for money! I ordered the veggie platter for 1 person and look how much food is there! I couldn’t finish it. The scrambled eggs with bacon also pretty big (look at that bread portion!!!) I am giving 4 stars because there is room for improvement in the food quality.

What a find! This gem was our regular spot for breakfast and lunch during our visit to Edinburgh. The star was the halloumi avocado toast and the coffee…Perfection! The infusion of flavors was amazing and kept bringing us back!

Had a lovely lunch in here yesterday with my son and had to go back today to have another Caesar salad to takeaway for our train journey home, along with some delicious carrot cake. We’ll definitely be back when we have another trip to Edinburgh and in the meantime my son is going to attempt to make a version at home! This is a really nice cafe. We stopped in for some lunch, they have a huge selection of brunch dishes, sandwiches and salads. The food and drinks were ready in around 5 minutes. Would definitely recommend!

I've been testing and thoroughly enjoying Rocksalt breakfast options. Top of the list is the Turkish breakfast. I think the family who run the cafe are Turkish so perhaps this is why it's so good Next, is the Vegetarian breakfast. It looks a little sparse on the plate but don't be fooled. It's a large plate! Not only is this delish with the toast, waffles and breads really fresh, it's quite filling! I think Rocksalt is an unsung hero for coffee to. They're overshadowed by more famous, more specialist, neighbours but the brew here is good and generous. I've been coming here for at least a decade and I'm pleased to see how it's grown and evolved. It started good and got better. You don't thrive on Constitution Street by being anything less than brilliant. The weak do not survive here. While this review stated with breakfast, as all good days do, given my years of experience here, I know it's good until close. Stuff does sell out, though. Rocksalt is perfect for families, business travellers and tourists. Your main problems will be tempting baking at the counter just asking for you to break your calories count and queues. Needless to say, with so much going for it, Rocksalt can get very busy. I'm not saying don't come here for a quick coffee to do if you're in a hurry. I'll saying look through those fantastic windows before committing and see how many people are inside.

I stumbled across this place whilst looking for a coffee before my nail appointment across the road (at Cute but Deadly nail Co) and I am SO glad I did! Incredible coffee, friendly and knowledgeable service and the food 😍 the food is AMAZING. The portions are immense, we even had a mezze for one between two and it was a perfect amount as a filling snack. They cater for all diets and have lots of veggie and vegan options too, and LOTS of gorgeous cakes! I look forward to coming here often, now even when I don't have nail appointments!

Popped in here for breakfast on a rainy weekday. We were really impressed with both the taste and presentation of the food. You can tell the owners and staff take great pride in their work. I had the avocado toast with chili oil, poached eggs and smoked salmon. The pomegranate seeds topped the dish off perfectly. Also ordered some incredible home-made baklava too. Definitely worth a visit!

Friendliest staff you'll ever find! But something's missing here. The menu is very confused and way too big and varied. This meant that staff are running around frantic and ultimately got part of my order wrong. Then my partner's food was great but mine was fairly average. They're doing some things right here but should just streamline the menu and concentrate on the dishes they're best at!

Very nice food in a pleasant setting. Opens at 0800 which is great for people not interested in the bland food provided at their hotel or staying locally in an Airbnb/Hostel. Moderate prices. Only negative. My food was served on a plate which was very cold, as was the cutlery.

There are not many places I find that does my bacon the way I like it but here the breakfast roll is highly recommended and stunning, possibly the best I've had anywhere. You will get one of the best coffees in Edinburgh in Rocksalt, the guys here really know their beans. The food is also excellent with a lot of the dishes having a turkish twist added to them. I have mostly had breakfast here and I particularly like the french toast. Staff always very friendly and for Edinburgh it is good value for money. Always busy at the weekend. If you are exporing the Royal Mile and looking for a place to eat, be sure to turn off at Jeffrey St and visit Rocksalt.

A great new cafe with wonderfully friendly staff. There's a big varied menu and a large salad selection. The coffee is from Union roasters and is lovely. I've had both vegan options and they're quite filling and tasty, and the staff are knowledgeable about vegan food and happy to make adjustments. Well decorated space with some small tables out front too. Overall a fantastic new addition to the neighbourhood!

This place is truly special. We were so impressed watching how our dedicated barrista prepared our cappuccinos, and the finished article was a stunningly beautiful piece of art! A tourist smoking a cigarette welcomed up with a smile complimenting the food he just had, and he was certainly right! Everything we had looked and was tasty, served within a reasonable time. Ate breakfast here on our second day in Edinburgh Royal mile. It was absolutely amazing. Full of flavours and mouthwateringly delicious. The variety and choice was excellent. Especially in regards to vegetarian and vegan. My daughter tried veggie haggis for the first time ever and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the avacado toast with bacon, poached egg and pomegranate. It was delectable. The latte was the best I'd tasted in Edinburgh. Service was friendly and efficient. 100% recommend a visit here.

Yes, here at the checkout everything is better to draw up and immediately pay. They gave disposable dishes, poured soup into a cardboard glass. I tried the chicken soup of the day (similar to the classic lentil soup), and some kind of Arabian lettuce with spinach. For some reason there are spinach dishes around.
