Really good quality of food for their prices. Gets really busy near noon as a lot of people come here on their lunch break. Have not had anything I didn't like yet and nothing beats their club sandwich!!

A great cafe off the beaten path. You know it is good when you see locals eating here. The prices are incredible and portions large!! Need I say more? Having read several recommendations decided to try here for breakfast. Opted for the largest breakfast with a tea at £6 total. The breakfast was pleasant enough an served quickly, though it was a little disappointing that some of the elements were just taken from the hot box rather than being freshly cooked. Consequently the link sausages weren't all that hot. Other elements were decent enough and it did have the Scottish Haggis, Lorne Sausage etc. It was a cheap breakfast, but not the best I've had.

Really good. The breakfast wrap is a stone cold hangover killa. I'm actually looking forward to returning to Edinburgh just to go back to Snax. Deducted a star because it was raining while I waited for my wrap and I'm clearly not as hardcore as the rest of the people in the queue.

Visited Edinburgh last month or so and stumbled across Snax. It's exactly what I was looking for, a no fuss, old style prices breafkast/lunch spot. The food was what you want for the price, no more no less and the service was great, the girls I saw running the place were clearly on the ball. I whole heartedly reccomend it to anyone looking for a no frills place to grub. I also reccommend the 3 filling breakfast baps. Veggie haggis, egg and hash brown totally hit the spot. If your looking for the best place locals go for breakfast this is the spot! Myself and my wife ate here for breakfast twice while in Edinburgh on a short trip. If I'm ever back in the area this will be on my short list of places I have to repeat visit. Had the Haggis, egg and rasher sandwich on the first time around it was delicious! The second time I had the bigger breakfast. So much food and absolutely delicious. It will keep you going all day. Prices are very reasonable also.

Very tiny building, but very popular. It has always been busy when we went, yet we have yet to have problems finding a seat. The food is cheap and the portions are large, especially the breakfasts, which are pretty delicious. Very cozy and friendly atmosphere. The staff are always smiling, and you can tell they have more than a few regulars because of it. Not exactly an upscale place, but a great alternative for a cheap meal, rather than, say, the nearby McDonald's.

An institution in Edinburgh, a firm favourite of the locals. This isn't a fancy sit down cafe or a coffee bar. It's a greasy spoon cafe which serves great food at an affordable price, and they do it so very well! Scottish fried breakfasts (varying sizes), burger lunches, filled rolls. When passing through waverley I believe we all have a moral duty to take the short walk out of the station, away from the burger kings, costas, pigeon feathers and lost people and spend our cash where it is truly valued. Snax is a great local place for a cheap quick bite. I'd sooner crawl here than go to any of the establishments inside the station. 30 minutes will give you ample time to get there from the station, eat in and make your connection as long as its not too busy or you could get a take away and be back in the station within 10 to 15 mins. Breakfast take away is available with cutlery to go as well as sandwiches and sweet treats. Imagine the food envy from the other passengers as you tuck into a massive gut buster on the train and they struggle to cope with how their whopper doesn't look anything like the photograph but it must be ok because they are only comfortable eating food from the big brands. Snax also offers good vegetarian options (Big breakfasts included) and healthier food. I'm just a fan of a fryup. Enjoy.

Snax is an Edinburgh institution. Avoid breaktimes at the nearby building sites: the long queue of workies in High Vis jackets testify to the good value but take a while to get served. There are four or five stools to perch at while you have your bacon roll or terrifyingly huge breakfast, but it's very much a takeaway with a tiny cafe of two square metres. Have the link sausage and tattie scone roll with butter and a slathering of brown sauce to experience the true taste of Edinburgh breakfasts... Just don't blame me for the ensuing heart failure.

Sanx is an amazing little cafe and my number one spot in Edinburgh for a quick Scottish breakfast. Tucked away in a back street just of St Andrews Square its a much better option than the nearby Greggs or MacDonalds and fantastic value. I usually get three rolls with skinny bacon and fried eggs and a cup of tea. If I'm ravenous I'll get a full fry up. The staff are friendly and super fast which keeps the queue moving and everybody happy. Even though the premises are tiny, as long as there are only a couple of you getting a seat is no bother. It is very popular with local Edinburgh folk especially my friends who live in the centre of town.
