My partner had the small Scottish breakfast which was huge and with lots of meat. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

B. Ş.Great breakfast. Saw that in Google as the best breakfast in Edinburgh. I am not sure if it was the best breakfast but it was pretty good. Nothing fancy though, very casual place. We loved it.

J.A wonderful, welcoming cafe tucked away in the city. I had an amazing traditional Scottish breakfast which came with plenty of food (even for the small portion) at a very affordable price. The staff were friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend!

E.A wonderful family-run café! While known for their fabulous Scottish breakfasts, they serve a wide range of top quality delicious and affordable food that never disappoints! Try the salted caramel brownies (you'll thank me later!) The owners are friendly folk who care about their customers.
S. M.I have been visiting regularly (once or twice a week) for around a year now and the food is absolutely delicious. I usually order steak pie, macaroni (sometimes with haggis or sausage added) or the all day Scottish breakfast.
They have around 4 different hot dishes available each day with the menu changing each day of the week (Wednesday is Steak pie day). The food is always cooked to perfection and served piping hot.
They also provide meals ready to be heated up at home which I believe are very popular with older people.
Portion sizes are always very generous and the hot meals are excellent value.
It is a family run business and well worth supporting if you are in the area. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Both being veggies we wanted a good hearty breakfast just without the meat. Thistles just hit the spot perfectly. I would just ask the owner what I should have and he’d make me something amazing. The value for money was amazing ! (Especially for two broke students!)
Not only did we have amazing food and great service. John the owner would even give us advice on where to visit during our stay, what to see, how to get there. Like our own local tour guide. Each morning we went back he’d come over ask how we were and what we got up to etc giving even more friendly advice on what to do.
We even got a sneaky free taste of the yummy caramel brownie! 😍
It’s clear to see how this place had such amazing reviews ! Well worth the visit. We loved it so much

The service was fantastic, food was incredible value and really tasty - we're nearing Christmas so it was nice to be able to have a wee breakfast date with my boyfriend without worrying about breaking the bank! John was super cheerful and took the time to have a chat with us before we left, which was lovely! ... also I genuinely think that they sell the best chocolate brownies I've ever tried in my life!

Y.Amazing food & drinks - wonderful friendly and funny hosts :) my friends and I ordered the lunch specials, they had multiple options and we all ordered something different and it was all very delicious! Highly recommend you come with an empty stomach, because the only regret you'll have is if you don't try some of the cakes or slices for dessert ;)
