Dog friendly 🐶
Fantastic breakfast this morning at Singl-end. Excellent service from start to finish. Extensive menu ordered via your phone.
Payed parking outside, pick up Glasgow Council scratch card style parking vouchers inside and get an hours parking for £1.
Dog friendly all day every day.
R. N.
Absolutely superb breakfast, tremendous coffee and amazing staff. Portions are huge and it’s probably one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! It’s a must.
J. T.
Over the top wonderful. Our charming servers helped to create Glasgow's most welcoming brunch space on a Sunday afternoon. Dog friendly, unpretentious atmosphere with amazing breakfast and lunch options. French toast with bacon and the full breakfasts come highly recommended, as well as the homemade desserts. Tip these guys, they certainly deserve it!

Visited on a busy Saturday morning, having booked a table a couple of days before. Staff attentive and efficient and even though it was busy we did not feel rushed. Tables at comfortable distances from each other. Veggie breakfast the haggis, mushrooms and beans were superb could have been improved by: the oven roasted tomatoes being cooked more, they were still very firm and had very little flavour, the poached eggs being less vinegary and an extra slice of sourdough toast. Oh and oddly the tea just never brewed properly, even in the small red teapot so either water needed to be hotter or maybe use two teabags. All in all a good breakfast to start the day.

Always so good to eat here. It's kind of the perfect brunch place. Every dish is satisfying - I'll confess that I'm usually vegetarian but I have to make an exception for the meaty eggs here. The fennel sausage is incredible. Though if you'd rather stick to vegetarian options, they do them really well too!!
f. o.
Food here was absolutely beautiful and really well cooked. Variety of things to choose from. It was pricey but as a nice treat I really recommend going. Staff were lovely too and I loved the decor.
V. S.
The food here is amazing. Do make sure to book a table if you're going in on a weekend to avoid disappointment.
M. K.
Amazing place! Super nice staff, delicious breakfasts and cakes. Can highly recommend!
I. K.
Amazing amazing place. Absolutely delicious food. And the menu was unique, I have never seen most of the options anywhere else. Highly recommend. Quite popular though. Suggest reserving a spot.
C. E.
Always make this place a stop when we are in Glasgow. The breakfast/brunch options are spot on, with generous portions. The setting is really light and airy, considering this is a basement restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and dogs are allowed!
R. L.
I’m sure it must have all been said before but it’s a lovely atmosphere, friendly attentive staff and an easy ordering/menu system but the real joy is the artistry and design of the place.
J.
Staff extremely helpful & courteous at all times. Very friendly. Food was amazing. Could not fault. Place was clean & tidy. App was very simple to use. Dog friendly 😊 Will def be returning. Omelette was out of this world 👌🏻
E. R.
Attentive but not overbearing staff. Generous portions. Had french toast, which was decent, good bit of bacon with it too. Eggs Benedict were great, kitchen staff clearly know what they're going.
G. R.
Was nice foods lovely. Bit of a pain in the butt for parking anf online food ordering but the foods tasty
H. G.
My wife and I had our wedding after-party here but we were regular customers a lot before then. We love the place, and more importantly the people that work there, they never fail to make us feel welcome and are very polite and kind. It's always a pleasure to take people with us who have never been before and I'm sure their opinion doesn't differ from ours.
S.
The staff were genuinely helpful and went out of their way to assist my older relative.
They also kept me right regarding the on street parking situation and provided me with parking vouchers.
Thank you for a great experience, will visit again.
M. L.
Located a little out of the centre but a nice layout. Plate sizes are huge, very a la USA dining.... between 3 of us we left/wasted over 1 plates worth of food which I felt was contradictory to the green/recycling ethos they promote.

I'll get the minor irritations out of the way first, though overall it was excellent and I have no hesitation in awarding 5 stars. The last time I was in Singl-End was years ago, shortly after it opened. Instead of printed menus, they had these ludicrous overhead electronic screens. The weakness for technological gimmicks appears to live on, as the process of ordering involves sending an SMS, which then generates a link, which then enables you to order. I'm sure restaurants somehow managed this process before mobile phones were everywhere. What was particularly galling was that the dishes we had selected from the printed menu on the table weren't actually available to order online. So the process of choosing started all over again. Grrrrrrr. Cue various sweary comments about hipsters.
Now that's out of the way I can move on to the positives, of which there were plenty. The place was packed, which was definitely a good sign, and the basement space is airy and full of light even on a day of incessant rain. The food arrived quickly and was genuinely excellent. My potatoes with fried onions, halloumi, fried eggs and sourdough bread was fantastic - full of flavour and really filling. The staff were also very friendly and the food was good value. So other than the gripes around the ordering process this brunch was pretty much perfect and we'll definitely be back.

We were lucky to find this gem on our visit to Glasgow. Service was excellent and friendly, premises are quirky and dog friendly and the food, coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious, thanks Singl-end we’ll come back again next time we’re in Glasgow.
C. K.
If you don't already know this place then you need to! They do posh breakfast type meals with a selection of fresh jucie/smoothies and they bake their own bread. There are currently 2, I would recommend the one off sauchiehall street (the one I'm reviewing), the one at merchant isn't as good for some reason.
I always go for the meaty breakfast and im yet to be disappointed!! Inside is done up like and old single-end flat and full of old Scottish memorabilia. Anywhere you look you'll see something new, even the girders are from old lanark steel Mills.
Would definatley recommend
S. F.
Great Cafe close to the city centre.
Many different options to choose from the menu. We had brunch here but we also craved some of the delicious cakes.
Staff is really friendly and helpful.
Prices are normal for such a great coffee place in Glasgow.
Definitely going back again soon!
S. c.
One of the best cafes I've been to, everything we had was absolutely delicious with huge quantities. Highly recommend!
J. R.
Amazing place for breakfast and lunch, a must visit if you’re in town!
D. J.
This is one of the finest breakfast meals I’ve ever eaten! Super tasty and can see why so many people love this place. I had the meaty baked eggs. This was filling but ridiculously tasty. The coffee was decent too, but the highlight is definitely the food! Incredible!
D. M.
Fantastic food, so tasty, 😋
Great service, a wee hidden gem 💎😀
M. C.
Lovely, bohemian cafe serving delicious food!
I wish I lived in Glasgow, so I could visit this cafe regularly!
I had a delicious spanakopita with courgette and kale salad - which initially looked too green, but it was the nicest thing I've eaten in a long time!
They also stock some well designed Scottish souvenirs, designed by artists and designers - so no tartan or a highland cow in sight!
Would highly recommend!
A. K.
One of the best places I have ever been to for breakfast. Even though we didn’t make a reservation, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and found a table for us nevertheless. It was quite busy when we arrived, so make a reservation if possible. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonable for the portions that we have received. The portions are quite big, so come prepared!!! The cafe has a cute atmosphere with postcards and posters of Scotland and Glasgow available to purchase which adds a touristy vibe to the atmosphere. 10/10 ☺️
L. L.
Fantastic breakfast, amazing and welcoming staff. the size of the breakfast is unbelievable! if you're debating where to go for breakfast/brunch, this is it. Thank you so much!
K. S.
We stumbled iver this place by chance while staying in Glasgow.
Great food, extremely nice staff. I can only recommend.
S. M.
Had a lovely late lunch here, I had the meaty baked eggs and it was so tasty, came very nicely presented with delicious bread. No picture sorry was too tasty! then we all had cakes, I had the peanut butter brownie which I would definitely recommend. coffee and wine good too. a must visit.
R. P.
Really cute cafe, very quirky. The service was a little slow and it was quite expensive but the food looked nice and the mocha was delicious. The cakes are ok.
B. K.
Great place to have breakfast. Friendly staff. Will definitely go again. Dog friendly. Easy table booking system. Top notch.
J. N.
Excellent place for breakfast, and also for siphon filter coffee. Delicious! Staff are all wonderful and a great ambience to the place. I got scrambled eggs with wonderful sourdough toast.
S.
I had the Sweet Potato Cake which made the trip to Glasgow worthwhile and has me drooling for another visit. The ginger beer was also a winner with a nice kick to it.
Left with the millionaires slice which was well worth the guilt.
Service overall was very good.
The seating policy was weird for an after 3pm visit: I was told I could only sit at a table for 2 as a sole diner despite the fact that there were at least three empty tables for 4. Not really a big deal, except the table I was given was in a thoroughfare and the waiters and customers kept passing and knocking me time after time. Even though I moved the chair I had to sit on an angle to avoid the constant contact. A small thing, but annoying nonetheless.
(To add insult to injury, after I arrived the tables almost completely emptied and when I was almost done a couple arrived who were promptly seated at a table for 4 🤷♀️)
G. M.
This place is brlll. End of. Food is superb and a big massive enormous shout out must go to the cooks who fire the food out really terrific. Highly recommended. You won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere too but it's Glasgow - right?
D.
Interesting approaches for a brunch, mainly egg-oriented. However, there was almost nothing costing less than £9.50 and considering almost everything consists of toasted bread and eggs I find it hard to justify the price. Definitely not a bad place, however, quite pricey.
P. T.
I love this place. Service is wonderful and they took care of me when I walked in at peak brunch hour on a Saturday without a reso and sat me at their staff table. Coffee and scones were so good that I came back the next day for a full on breakfast experience and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend the scones and the scrambled eggs. Will defo be back the next time I’m in Glasgow. 😍
M. H.
We had a veggie breakfast and a French toast. Food was excellent. Portions are generous so make sure you’re hungry! We had it as a brunch, but couldn’t finish our food.
J. O.
Visited Friday at 10:30 and didn’t have to wait for a table. The online ordering and not being able to talk with a server while ordering lead to one or two regrets. Had the sausage egg harissa skillet, very good but I would recommend asking for a third egg and less sausage.
A. M.
Have to hand it to the team at Singl-end.
During a seemingly unending and tedious restriction hampered COVID pandemic they've managed to maintain their now much needed services. Had been keen to visit before all of the madness but only got the chance now, and to be honest, the way they've handled the restictions absolute did not take away from the experience.
Ordering and paying from your phone cuts interaction between staff and patrons, but we didn't feel left out in the cold. Staff were lovely and friendly and service was quick.
Food was delicious! I had smashed avocado with chilli topped with halloumi and poached eggs with chimichurri. Fair hit the spot.
Unlike some places I've visited where the environment has been affected by the pandemic restrictions, this place has managed admirably and because of that I wouldn't hesitate to book again.
D. B.
Fantastic cafe for breakfast, brunch, lunch and a late afternoon bite to eat! Great homade food, with huge portions & lovely friendly service! Must book at the weekend! NOTE: Closes a bit early (5pm). Unfortunately, not quite same experience in the Merchant City branch! ☹ (& in mho - annoying ordering system in place in both branches, during COVID, but luckily you can bypass this & ask for a 'human service', at least at Garnethill).
J. O.
Nice and impressive, although poor service and only business-motivated.
This medium-sized deli café is impressive from the first step you put inside. They have a big table on the left where they keep all the appealing cakes and pastries, ready to be eaten. Food is varied and tasty. Please see attached photos.
However, there is a big downside for me: the service. It is just very much about money, not about providing a great experience and enjoying your time.
We spent 2 hours having food (see pics) and enjoying our time when a waiter came to us and put the bill on the table without asking for it. It was rude and unprofessional. Not appropiate for a café where customer service is key to make people come back.
I'd go to this place only if I was new to the city, but would certainly not recommend for the locals. They will rush you to finish your food and pay for what you ate.
R. C.
Really nice place, with excellent quality food. Pictured here Beefy Betty (1) and ginger+berry smoothie and latte (2). Steak was cooked to perfection as were the poached eggs. Staff are also very friendly and restaurant is very sustainable i.e. all single use plastics are biodegradable.
F. N.
Great food, lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Another birthday celebration at our favourite brunch place.
T. K.
We visited it for brunch. We tried the salmon omelette, Greek yogurt with fresh fruits and eggs Florentine. Overall the food was very tasty, the staff was helpful and fast, and the place have a unique atmosphere. Highly recommended!!
S. B.
Best breakfast I've had in a long while.
I had the veggie breakfast with avocado chilli mash and my girlfriend had frittata and salad. Everything about both meals was fantastic and great friendly service too.
We will definitely be coming here again before we go home on Tuesday.
F. P.
The atmosphere is very relaxed, the food is good and the hosts were nice. Maybe the desserts were a little too sweet for me, but it could be up to personal tastes :)
P. C.
This place is located right across to the Guest house we stayed at lower level of the building, stairs to walk down, the entrance is not obvious, but you will get to see it when their sign is up for the day. Good choices of dishes menu for breakfast and lunch. The staffs are friendly and welcoming, we don't feel awkward even this was our frist time to visit place like this. Various choices of cold and hot drinks, as well as desserts. The size is good, my husband rarely left anything over on plate, but he couldn't finish his dish this time. *Note to foreigner(esp. Folks from Canada), tips is not mandatory as per say, but my Scottish friend said that 10% on top and left it on table in cash is kinda courtesy & appreciation.
J. L.
Great breakfast place and cafe with a large selection of cakes and pastries. The poached eggs were great and the coffee was nice as well. Nice little spot away from the busy Main Street. Highly recommend you stop here for weekend breakfast.
E. C.
Singl-end is always a go-to for brunch or breakfast, especially since we have a dog. Recommend booking in advance. With Covid, all ordering and paying can be done online which is brilliant and adds a level of safety.
M. S.
No wonder the average review score is 4.8. Delicious food with hearty portions and intriguing taste blends. Industrial and loft space feeling attracting mid 20s to mid 40s..Glasgow miracles!
A. A.
I went with my wife last week, two time in same day (breakfast and lunch).
Food quality is very good and there is many different cakes or dishes in menu.
Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.
I recommend it everyone.
D. N.
Singl-end is a very nice café. The space is very nicely decorated and they offer a range of vegetarian and vegan options like breakfast, soups and most important, delicious delicious cakes. The staff was lovely and the food was great! Definitely recommended! Also had a fresh mint tea which really hit the spot for me 😉
O. R.
Visiting here from London. Honestly one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I had the smoked salmon on sourdough toast with veggie haggis side. The portion was much bigger than I expected, the salmon had so much flavour, and the veggie haggis was very light and succulent. Service was very efficient as well. Incredible.
I. P.
Absolutely brilliant place, well impressed, take away cakes including dairy free were spot on. Will definitely be back
M. M.
V pleasantly surprised at how nice an overall experience this was. I'm generally dubious about basement premises but this is great, as is the staff & food. V impressed.
E.
Delicious brunch with a great range of options. Very accomodating of various diets with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free options. The portion size is generous, so much so I couldn't finish mine and had to take the left overs away to eat later! I had the vegan breakfast with the olive and nut bread, with an almond milk latte. Would highly recommend it. The smashed avocado woth chilli was particularly good and different.
R. D.
Amazing brunch spot. Does get incredibly busy but worth the wait. Their skillet dishes are my favourite. Don't miss the salmon omelette if its on their specials. Save room for cake after!
B. M.
The cakes are 5 star, coffee is ok not amazing. Not eaten here but looked a good choice of breakfast and sandwich options, maybe a little pricey.
L. M.
Best breakfast/bakery place in glasgow, nice setting very welcoming and friendly staff. Fresh products, delicious cooking. A must go!!!
A. O. T. M.
Had a delicious cappuccino and the vego baked eggs. This was a huge brekky but I was hungry. Delicious flavours and great bread. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Great recommendations and the baked selection looks amazing.
J. O.
Very popular so the 5 of us had to wait a while but man it was worth it! The brunch options were to die for and the restaurant was full of beautiful decorations & artwork. I went with the chorizo omelette this time but I definitely need to try the veg baked eggs with some cake the next time!
W. F. L.
Splendid place for breakfast. Make sure you ate prepared for the portions as they are quite big in my opinion.
B. J.
Good and delicious foods😍😍😋😋😋
Brilliant staff 🥺
Highly recommended
K. Š.
Very charming place with an amazing choice of food: imaginative salads and mains, tasty cakes, nice selection of tea... I just wish they were open till a bit later!
M. A.
Simply amazing. Great decoration, nice vibe, very friendly staff and the food is heavenly. Everything is very well crafted. Don't hesitate to visit when in Glasgow.
J. Z.
Great place to grab a bite to eat. Very friendly staff and excellent food. The atmosphere of the venue is amazing.
A. M.
A cute cafe that is tucked away on a quiet street. Everyone that worked here was so friendly and nice and I was able to sit at the community table instead of waiting 45 minutes since I didn’t have a reservation. If you are going with a group of 3 or more I would suggest a reservation on the weekends.
I. B.
amazing food, really nice cake selection, empire biscuits are best I've ever had
S. W.
Lovely place for breakfast. We went there twice because it was so welcoming and delicous.
N. P. K.
Food and bevvy were absolutely smashing. Parking was a bit of a faff. I'm sure this will get better.
J. S.
Charming place, great bread and baked goods. Fast service, friendly waiters. Bit of a wait for Sunday brunch, but you can get your coffee in a nice waiting area until a table is available.
S. T.
Amazing food! Home made products, as well! For the first time in my life I enjoyed the black pudding! On the not so positive, it can be crowded and the coffee is not up to the quality of the food! Overall, fully satisfied!
V. V.
Very nice atmosphere of english cafe and best breakfast I have ever had! I liked even my americano although I am always very critical if its not a roastery. Very good that they have wide range of dishes and they are healthy at all. My eggs benedict were on sweet potato and avocado creme instead of hollandaise.
D. D.
I went here with my family for lunch and we ended up coming back everyday until the end of our trip. The food is delicious and the staff very friendly. Definitely my go to place when I am in Glasgow. Keep up the great work!
E. G.
Awesome breakfast, wont need lunch or dinner now!

This place is so good . Food is very delicious and the staff are friendly.

Brilliant cafe located at the top of Renfrew Street. It's a hidden gem this place, great customer service and the food is superb.
I had French toast with bacon and syrup with a latte which were very, very tasty.
We were sat at the community table which is basically just a sharing table but it was no problem at all. Staff were attentive and friendly and they also bake a lot of products on the premises (very impressive) including delicious cakes.
Prices are good but it can get very busy most days if you're planning on a visit.
I. M.
Second visit just as good as the first, fast service and DELICIOUS food! Staff are super lovely too.
A. D.
Absolutely delicious!! Everything very fresh. Definitely book ahead.

j. W.
Great food as always - shame about the parking voucher system and received a parking ticket from Glasgow city council 😞
D.
Absolutely Incredible spot that I cannot say enough good things about. To put this in perspective, I was in Glasgow for 3 days and happened upon this place on the first day. I was hooked from day 1 and returned each day I was there. Before I fly out back home, I am definitely going to try to get here once more. The breakfasts are amazing and I highly recommend their full Scottish breakfast. They do have a wide assortment of dishes for whatever you may be craving, as well as a plethora of sweets if you're just popping in for cake and coffee.
G. H.
Always love a great brunch here!
S. G.
A lovely place to visit off the beaten track
Order on app and service quick and friendly
Food so different and well presented
One of Glasgows best hidden secrets well worth a visit
M. J.
Possibly the best French toast I have had in Glasgow. Outstanding quality with a good portion of high quality bacon.cooked exactly how I like it. And with a good portion of the syrup also. Really very good. Also the earl grey tea was of a high quality with a delicate fragrance. Finally. Decent prices and an amazing cake selection makes this a definite return destination.
E. B.
Delicious hearty food with a fantastic cake selection. A real gem. Definitely worth a visit
j. r.
Excellent service and the food was really good cooked fresh
C. C.
Great breakfasts, homemade sausages and baked beans, and the green smoothie was delish
S. L.
We just had tea and a cake but this place is a gem. My 2 friends had fresh lemon and ginger tea not just some old teabag which they said was delicious and it smelt wonderful. I had ordinary breakfast tea but it came in a rather lovely teapot and I had possibly the best cake I have ever eaten mango and orange sponge with lemon icing. It was moist and truly scrumptious. This place is very near the Tenement house in Glasgow and is well worth a visit. The staff were lovely the loos are nice. Just go.
A. S.
Amazing brunch and bloody Marys! The massive portions will set you up for the day. All the staff were very friendly and adhering to all social distancing rules. It's table service and you order via an app.
M. P.
Wrong order came out, (ordered meaty breakfast and got meaty eggs or something) but to be fair, what they'd brought out looked better so I had that and was not disappointed 😊
E.
Delicious brunch with a great range of options. Very accomodating of various diets with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free options. The portion size is generous, so much so I couldn't finish mine and had to take the left overs away …
F. H.
Fantastic food with a broad menu. Good service and reasonably priced.
S. T.
Amazing food! Home made products, as well! For the first time in my life I enjoyed the black pudding! On the not so positive, it can be crowded and the coffee is not up to the quality of the food! Overall, fully satisfied!
E. B.

Hands down my favourite breakfast spot in Glasgow. I'm yet to try something off the menu that I haven't loved. Delicious baked goodies too and lots of vegan/GF options 😍. Staff always super friendly and it's also a great place to spot cute dogs... What more could you want!!
A. T.
A wonderful place with great staff and really good food!!!!

Excellent place for breakfast, lunch or just a drink. Dog friendly. If anything I think I'd you do bring a dog you might win some additional points!
We enjoyed a lovely creamy mushroom soup and a croque monsieur. Couldn't have been better. Prepared with delicious breads.
100% recommend!

Amazing brunch food, would highly recommend. Bit of a wait for a table but that seems to be the way with brunch places these days. Lovely decor, quite kitschy. Great service. Never been in later than brunch, so can't comment on the rest of the menu sadly.
t. m.
Nice enough if you want to eat when they are open, (limited hours) don't mind it being crowded (always), and probably best if you are all out vegan or omnivore, if you are vegetarian it's a bit limited. Staff are friendly and a credit to the place. This place is really popular, just a bit hit or miss for my taste)
A. L.
Amazing savoury meals, snacks and bakehouse. Everything homemade, top class. Delicious smoothies, range of coffees and licenced too. Opens cafe hours. Staff are great too
C.
On arrival we were told we had to make a reservation as all seats inside were taken, despite some being empty. We went outside and called to make a reservation and were told it was walk only and table cannot be held. So moments later we walked back down and were given a table inside by a both er member of staff. Service is questionable. However Food here is fresh and different in the sense that its decent and authentic. Not processed. The hot drinks came in a glass which was slightly inconvenient as its hot, a handle would be more practical.
A. M.
The best brunch in the city.... Amazing black pudding
p.
I have visited this cafe/bakehouse on multiple occasions with friends and family and have never been disappointed. The coffees/teas have always been spot on and the cakes are superb with plenty of choice (Vegan and Non-Vegan). I have also had breakfast here and never had issues with choosing a dairy free option (for dietary as opposed to ethical reasons) as the staff are very helpful and accommodating. Would highly recommend.
A. M.
Love this quirky, relaxed cafe with fabulous food, huge choice for ALL diets and great staff. Dogs allowed aswell. Love it!
z. p.
My reason for reviewing is to up the star rating for the best breakfast place I have ever visited. If I lived in Glasgow it would be lethal! The staff are clearly enjoying working there too, and genuinely go out of their way to please their customers. However they do it I hope they keep it up!
G. N.
Definitely my new favourite place for brunch in Glasgow. Fresh food in a relaxed setting which is slightly off the beaten bath.
I love the baked egg dish served with Italian sausage and homemade beans and bread. So good.
They also have a massive selection of baked goods to eat in or to go. Gluten free selection is really impressive as well.
N. E.
Hands down the best breakfast in Glasgow. Beautiful meals, cosy but rustic setting with excellent value for money and service. The sweet potato and almond loaf is addictive!
S. K.
The food here is amazing. I almost wish the portions were smaller so that I could try more things! Very good value for money, a mix of healthy mains and cake, great specialist breads (try the sweet potato bread - it's somewhere wonderful between bread and cake, and they'll sell you some to take home too). Though it can be a little hard to find the front door (keep going down the steps) it is well worth it!
A. K.
We were looking to get some British breakfast and really love that we found this place. We had two different breakfast meals, both were delicious and perfectly matched our expectations. The staff was friendly, prices are fair and we didn't wait long even if almost all tables were occupied.
J.
Good bread and a wide variety of impressive baked goods.
Unfotunately the beans were cold and altogether such a small portion, coffee really not done well (tasted burnt).
Overall an Ok breakfast place. Shame it didn't deliver. Inattentive service (felt ignored). But definetely friendly.
In summary Signl end needs to improve on some of the smaller details to become well rounded.
D. H.
Love this place - has some good food, good coffee and good staff. There are lots of little trinkets to buy for friends who aren't from Glasgow, or for yourself if you visit frequently and/or miss Glasgow. The baked goods, desserts and salads are yummy, too!
A. E.
Very good food. Portions are large and everything I have tried has been very good. The cakes are amazing too but often too dull to eat one after one after a lunch there!
Only problem is how busy it is. Unless you get outside of peak hours you really have to book to get a table. Or else it's quite a long wait.
M. S.
Best all day brunch in Glasgow! Excellent for gluten-free bread and cakes baked there. Very generous portions. Friendly staff, great smoothies. Can recommend the big breakfast, French toast with berries and omlette though everyone's food looked delicious. Well worth seeking out!
T. D.
The surprising find during my short trip to Glasgow. the fact that I had to wait for a table for 40 mins (went for a coffee around the corner) was forgotten in the first second that I sat down and felt the ambiance. The staff is very friendly, the customers came from all walk of life and ages, I loved the fact that there were dogs with their owners as relaxed as everybody else.
And then there is the food... now I am am bit of a food snob so I do not say this lightly, it was truly one of the nicest lunch meals I have ever had! I had the rarebit on sourdough and it was very yum! I tend to order what looks simple on menu's because of a place can't get the basics right anything else they do is irrelevant. but they most definitely got this right! We 93 of us) ended up staying for 3 hours, watching the snow fall and having one of the most relaxing Sunday afternoons that any of us had in quiet a while :)
Some places are style over substance, some have substance but little style, Singl-end manages what few can Style and Substance.
Would most definitely recommend this place to anyone!
s. m. c.
Love this place. Breakfast was fab. V spacious . Good value too
S. A.
Interesting, fantastic food. What more do you need? Great Italian roast coffee. For me the cakes are occasionally a bit subtle taste wise but there is always a great selection. You can always find something that hits the spot. I go with at least one friend to encourage sharing though C.J.McCann doesn't do sharing. Boo.
Overall 9.85 out of 10 as its an enjoyable space and there is much love in the kitchen.
A. W.
Great for breakfast or brunch but can be very busy at weekends so come early or book a table. The serve lovely salads and the baked goods are scrummy. I had a Bakewell Tart which had a proper home baked taste and arguably the tastiest pastry ever. They have a small courtyard with outdoor seating too.
A. W.
Well worth hunting out for great food and fabulous service.
D. M.
Great food that is different and wholesome. Vegan and gluten free taken care of. I just wish the public didn't have their faces in the cakes; bending over them. Great to display the wonderful cakes however they need to be kept hygienic and the public spluttering all over them at times isn't good. The public can get a wee bit to close to your wares!
O. K.
Absolutely wonderful.
I’ve eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world and I must say this wee gem of a place in Glasgow is officially my favourite.
Briony served us, gave us superb recommendations and customer service. If I was her manager I’d give her a raise!
I had the veggie eggs benedict which came with sweet potato, a nice twist to the standard version.
Highly recommend this place for either a business lunch or one with your loved one
J. F.
Great food, friendly staff. *not* a good option if you're in a hurry, especially at the weekend, as there is almost always at least a 30 minute wait for a table, but otherwise I have very few bad things to say - meaty baked eggs is my go-to, but they also have numerous salads, and pretty good vegan/vegetarian options.
A. M.
I really love this place. Been a few times now, cannot beat their breakfasts - the food is so good! Amazing homemade cakes and great GF options. Service is impeccable. They even let us leave our luggage! I think they deserve an award.
R. W.
An unbelievable place for food especially if you love eggs. An amazingly cosy place in the heart of the best city in the world with some of the best food I've ever had. If you ever have the chance to, book a table and go... You will not be disappointed... And the cakes. Just go.
L. M.
Excellent food and haven't had a disappointing visit yet. Probably better if your looking to spend an extra few quid for lunch and it has fantastic vegetarian and vegan options. Outside seating for the summer days and cosy living room style hide away for the winter months. Staff are lovely and the breads and cakes are amazing.
A. D.
This is a hidden gem of Glasgow. We went here for breakfast and it was incredible - they cater for all and have amazing veggie and vegan options. Definitely try either the baked eggs or cooked breakfasts. I would have uploaded a picture but I ate it too quickly.
c. m.
Lovely hidden away cafe with great decor, amazing selection of cakes and breads and lovely staff!
n. a.
Loved it wonderful place amazing breakfast
M. R.
Easily the best cafe I visited during my short couple of weeks in Scotland. Fantastic coffee, delicious food and the staff could not be more welcoming (they also remembered my order after 1 visit). Will definitely visit again.
J. S.
Great environment, busy when we went in during breakfast time (10:30-12:00) which added a nice buzz to sit and chat amongst.
Service is good and the food very tasty. Would definitely recommend the place for breakfast.
D. S.
Wonderful place, really welcoming and friendly staff. The food is amazing , not too expensive but you get what you pay for here. The omelette is worth a try, soup with homemade bread is another must try. Will be back. Really slow with the coffee order though, had to send it back because it was stone cold
D. S.
Delicious cooked breakfast, everything cooked fresh. The homemade pork and fennel sausages tasted amazing. Be prepared for a wait though, as it took nearly an hour for me to be seated and given food.
L. D.
Lovely food great staff xx
E. G. V.
Single-end serves delicious food and smoothies. Their range of artisan homemade breads is exquisite. They offer a very healthy and tasty option. A must for vegetarians and vegans looking for beautifully cooked food. Very yummy!
D. B.
Best brunch in Glasgow HANDS DOWN, friendly staff, great venue and all for a decent price. Scents of freshly baked bread and cakes from their bakehouse fill the room and the atmosphere is great. Don't need anywhere else in Glasgow for breakfast, brunch or lunch!
M. W.
Good food and great presentation, but not a place you'd want to go if you're looking for a big standard breakfast. All a bit adventurous and complex. Overall though, nice experience.
D. M.
Fantastic breakfast. Food is excellent with lots of options. Good service and great atmosphere. You will not leave disappointed in what is served. Superb.
S. W.
I enjoyed my meal at this cafe. The staff were attentive and helpful and my meal of avocado with poached egg on toast was absolutely fantastic. I would and have recommended this cafe to friends and family and would definitely visit again.
e. s.
Great quality ingredients, healthy options along side traditional full Scottish breakfast (which was excellent, nothing like the greasy, heavy versions out there, but full of flavor and hearty) and good, strong espresso. Loved it!
A. N.
Delicious food, lovely coffee, relaxed atmosphere & lovely staff. It's also dog friendly & our border collie Luther loved all the attention & treats he got from the staff & other diners.
M. G.
Not actually in a single end but in the cellar of an ex-textile factory or mill, this contemporary restaurant offers a unique range of foods. Lunch was excellent, with no pressure to vacate the table. Definitely a place to go that is out of the ordinary for venue and food.
F. H.
Fantastic food with a broad menu. Good service and reasonably priced.
T. W.
Great service, atmosphere and the best baked eggs I've ever had! Also have a wide variety of baked goods. Will be back next time we're in Glasgow.
S. R.
i was there with my wife during the late morning hours. we had a great breakfast. the service was good and the bathrooms were really special. I had the best grilled smoked salmon in the realm. I mean relay..
K. R.
Gorgeous bakery and arty venue. Thoroughly recommend the meaty eggs with sourdough and tomato. Add the halloumi if you're brave. Friendly staff at a place serious about baking. Definitely worth a visit.
C. O.
Wow. Was in Glasgow for a weekend found this absolute gem of a place on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Brilliant staff, excellent food and such a great atmosphere. Will definitely go back when in Glasgow again.
E. W.
The brunch here cannot be beat! I have always had really good service here, even when they were having power issues! I wish there was a table reserve system, because the place can get super busy on the weekends. It is a lovely stop on the way to uni (RCS) and is quieter than restaurants on Sauchiehall Street.
C. W.
As I so enjoyed their location in Merchant City, I sought them out in Garnethill. Each location has different specials, but the fresh bread and delish meals are the same. However, I preferred the ambiance at the Merchant City location.
k. K.
Liked it so much we went back again next day for breakfast.healthy (&some not so!!) and hearty breakfasts. Gorgeous cakes and wide selection of them too. We tok some away we were so full after the breakfast.Bakery on site means fresh loaves too. Like the fact the tables aren't crammed on top of one another.Confident and friendly staff. DO book at weekends as it's popular. They do have some 'high' tables ; those seats can be a bit awkward to get onto/manouvre.Spotless loos & quirkily decorated.
A. D.
Excellent dog friendly cafe. Great food. Extremely friendly staff.
J. A.
Wow. Fantastic food. Great relaxed, and courteous service Will definitely be back. Doggy box to take away made from plant based biodegradable material within 12 weeks. Would highly recommend 👍☆☆☆☆☆
K. M.
Nice atmosphere and quick service. Good food and comfortable. Also dog friendly.
J.
As usual food was fantastic.
Staff were so helpful.
A. B.
Lovely warm atmosphere / brilliant friendly staff and the best poached eggs I've eaten in a long time (cooked with just the right amount of vinegar). Can't wait to try lunch
K.
Rustic, bohemian atmosphere. Nice lunch menu and good portions. Great staff. Parking for a couple of hours or more easy at Charing Cross mult-story or on street nearby for shorter periods.
L. L. R.
I love this wee place, I can't wait to return to try more items from the menu. The food is delicious and all the cakes etc look amazing.
The French toast and bacon is a must have, plus they dont scrimp on the maple syrup!
K. T.
Very impressed with this cafe's menu, layout and the cakes! Well priced, taste the difference food. You can also buy bread, cakes and savoury items to go. Add it to your bucket list
K. B.
Great modern/fun take on traditional full English and full Scottish breakfasts. Really fast and excellent service, nice interior. Dog friendly
R. M.
Really friendly, lovely cake (from a big selection) and good coffee. Didn't eat but the food looked and smelled fantastic. Dog friendly and child friendly. 100% recommended.
I. J.
Great place for an interesting fried breakfast. Everything tastes great. Some tables are definitely better than others though, not a big fan of the higher tables.
S. T.
Gluten free menu , friendly staff, awesome atmosphere... one of the best breakfasts I have had in a very long time. Can't recommend this place enough, worth the walk from the City Centre.
N. G.
AMAZING black pudding. Breads baked in the kitchen. Great service, friendly staff, excellent food. Possibly the best Scotch breakfast in Glasgow.
R. H.
Beautiful food. Amazing atmosphere
L. C.
Absolutely lovely place. It was really busy when we were there, always a good sign. Food was amazing and the cakes looked lush! Will definitely be back.
S. M.
Food is divine. We had baked veggie eggs, salmon with salsa verde, croque monsieur. Candy Staton 'Young Heart's playing in the background. Fabulous dining experience.
Feel compelled to return for cake after a wander around city centre.
V. A.
Best brunch I've had in ages. Great food choices, amazing cake. It gets really busy so book.
Y. L.

j. b.
Lovely food, great service 😊
Reasonable parking in area.

Popped in for a bite to eat before a gig at the SSE Hydro. Lovely range of baked (nutritious) food from soup to skillets serves a range of artisan breads. Nice decor and great service.
J. M. C.
Just delicious!! So lucky to have such high quality food available, at good prices. Pretty noisy as so busy but a great place.

Amazing breakfast! Really well worth the wait, very accommodating and quirky decor, the food is second to none other breakfast club! 10/10
G. R.
Lovely food and friendly service
A. H.
First time here when visiting Glasgow today - but is definitely the first of many! I loved the food, the choice, the coffee and the vibe. Busy although off the main thoroughfare, but that speaks volumes!
A. G.
Had a delicious soup (huge portion!) with some lovely soda bread. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options including an impressive selection of cakes. Will definitely be back.
A. D.
Amazing food, awesome price-quality rate and what a friendly personnel. We felt extremely appreciated for our stay, and loved the atmosphere. They even liked my sweater
N. H.
One of the best places for vegan and vegetarian food, food was amazing
D. P.
You can't do much better breakfast than to stop by the Singl-End near Charing Cross. Tucked away at the bottom of Renfrew Street, it might be a wee bit out the way, but it's certainly worth a wee venture.
Delving into the basement entrance, you're greeted by the smells and sights of the bustling kitchen and in-house bakery, busily stocking the impressive bread and pastry tables next to the entrance.
Friendly and eclectic staff are happy to seat you and take your order from the impressive vegetarian and vegan friendly menu (not for me thanks - the house-made pork and fennel sausages are too good to pass up!).
A particular standout is the baked eggs - a twist on the classic Middle Eastern shakshuka.
C. H.
Gorgeous food and very reasonably priced considering the huge portions.
Staff are always very pleasant and helpful.
S. S.
Had a very good Meaty Breakfast. Great service, delicious food, black pudding and fennel sausages particularly good, and choice of homemade bread.
G. R.
Fantastic! Food was amazing. My friend is coeliac and heard great things about this place. Gluten free. Fantastic setting, great atmosphere and dog friendly. Staff are great. Dog friendly.
R. M.
Nice feeling to the place. Obviously not the cheapest place for breakfast.
A bit of back bacon would have been nice instead of streaky bacon. A pot of tea with breakfast, just the ticket
S. M.
Excellent all round for brunch or lunch. Lovely atmosphere. Friendly staff. Delicious food.
C. H.
An absolute gem of a place. Fed up of gourmet burger joints and crying out for decent healthy natural food? - Come here. Fresh bread, cakes, loads of veggie and vegan stuff on offer but some meat for the carnivore in you. I'll be coming back soon.
E. T.
Had been meaning to try this place for ages and certainly wasn't disappointed. Food and coffee were great. Friendly and helpful service too. Will definitely be back for more.
U. D.

S. S.
Food was very good and fresh!! Lovley place

H. L.
Nice place for you lunch or breakfast. The cakes are also good, but i was a little disappointed by the bread i got with my breakfast. Will recommend though.
