Reviews of Willow Grove Coffee
R. k.
A lovely and warm little cafe.
It is a nice place to have a wee meal, coffee or cake. They do offer hot morning rolls as well. Baked goods looked tempting though I didn’t have any.
Unfortunately, what I have ordered wasn’t to my taste.
A piccolo that I found too ‘milky’ and I could barely enjoy the taste of the coffee in it.
A shakshuka that I found it to be basically an Italian tomato sauce with the fried eggs (sunny-side up eggs) on it, then some touch ups and garnish.
Yes, some people mix the eggs with sauce and some don’t and I don’t mind either.
But for me the tomato base of a Shakshuka has its distinct spices and flavor, it just shouldn’t be tasting like a very basic Italian tomato sauce.
Still, it is a lovely place and worth a visit.

Great small coffee shop. They have the best matcha lattes in Glasgow! I'm craving to go back and get another one. Side note: I wanted to get some work done but their wifi didn't have a good connection. Definitely stop by for some food, hot drink, or pastry they have plenty of yummy options!
P. H.
Delicious coffee and breakfast in a clean and well decorated space. I didn't have room for a cake but they all looked amazing!
S. F.
Great Cafe close to the city centre.
We had brunch here, great food and very nice fresh and tasty ingredients.
Staff is really friendly and helpful.
Prices are normal for such a great coffee place in Glasgow.
The only 'bad' thing is that is quite smelly in there, it's very common in Glasgow but after visiting this coffee we were smelling a lot.
Definitely going back again soon!
S. Z.
Friendly staff, Tasty coffee and the rubenish eggs with the pastrami subbed out for veggie haggis were absolute dynamite.
M. N.
Great place for breakfast in Glasgow! Best in my life pastrami sandwich with sauerkraut. Gorgeous brownie.
I. W.
Lovely breakfast here with traditional + vegan options with modern presentation. Service really friendly & coffee was great I'm told.
F. M.
Nice ambience. Small place. Had eggs with toast. 5.5 pounds. Cappuccino was good. 2.8 pounds. Menu could have had more options..
A. S.
Super cute wee coffee shop, great selection of vegan bakes. Their cajun tofu wrap is especially lovely
P. C.
best bacon butty in my entire life. no joke. get one
M. Š.
Amazing cafe! The best blueberry croissant I've ever had!
A. W.
WiFi and excellent espresso! From the States makes me a bit picky and Willow Grove impressed me. Mom and I enjoyed the food. Gluten and Vegan/Veggie friendly.
Friendly barista.

Amazing café. We had the nicest breakfast. Its been a long time since I had such a good quality breakfast. I highly recommend the Chorizo Shakshuka, it was absolutely delicious. The coffee and tea were top class, we decided to stay for another one and a Portuguese custard tart. You have to eat here if you are in the area.
G. A.
Really 4.5 stars.
Had avocado toast (with fried egg) also tried the Shakshuka + latte.
Avocado toast with fried egg was delicious and beautifully presented. Shakshuka had a punch and was delicious. I’m not sure what sour dough bread is used, but it was very scrumptious.
The only reason I’ve not given 5 stars is because the latte was too milky - served in a huge mug it didn’t quite meet the speciality 6oz ratio.
Lovely cosy atmosphere, bohemian style.
F. M.
Great coffee, friendly staff and good service 👌
E. C.
Potentially the best coffee in Glasgow, and lovely food and staff.
D. F.
A bohemian cafe with tons of character and brilliant personalized service in this residential side of Glasgow. Excellent!
b. m.
Fave wee coffee place in Glasgow. Amazing coffee, good food & the best bunch of staff.
K. M.
Visiting from the states. This was place right around the corner and everything was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect for a rainy morning. Highly recommend
P. W.
Lovely coffee (including non-dairy options) and the brunch shakshuka was really nice
P. B.
Best coffee in Glasgow so far. Best coffee in Scotland! And the guy was really efficient and fast no queue. Lovely flat white and iced latte.
A. F.
Lovely cosy spot. The coffee was tasty, the service friendly, and they had a ton of veggie and vegan options. Really fun, low key, artsy vibe.
S. Y.
Such a pretty cafe, was visiting Glasgow and decided to get brunch there. Chilled atmosphere, Staff are friendly and welcoming.
D. C.
Amazing place . Me my sister and our dog Mungo were there all together and spend some nice lunch time. Dog Friendly! Love it
S. R.
Veggie breakfast was lovely and coffee is on point, fresh made cakes empire biscuit was to die for.
G. T.
Willow grove has become my go to local ground coffe - matcha latte - brownie - bread place. The matcha is so smooth, the bread has that wonderful happy sourdough tang, and the brownies are a magical treat. And if you are looking for more, the staff is super friendly.
J. S.
It is the best coffee and sandwiches in Glasgow also go for brunch
F. D.
4.5 really.
Dirty Chai (iced & hot) - Excellent. Though bizarrely tiny straw for the iced coffee, did make us giggle though.
Loaf cake (1x courgette, 1x raspberry) - Excellent. Very moist, delicious cream cheese frosting.
Sandwiches (1x Reuben, 1x blue cheese & pear) - Good. The reuben had mustard, which was odd and unexpected and kind of overpowered the other flavours. Prefer sticking to Russian dressing only. The blue cheese and pear filling was lovely, but when toasted the ciabatta became rock hard, which was unfortunate.
Service - Excellent, quick and friendly.

I stumbled across this wee place, at Charing Cross, on my way home from the city centre several months ago, and it has become one of my favourite coffee houses. It was taken over and revamped by a flame-haired new owner around 6 months ago. She and her colleagues are very welcoming, attentive and friendly. They sound passionate about what they do, and their philosophy is to source products locally, wherever possible. The coffee is amazing, and the cakes are lovely. I tried the cooked breakfast a few weeks ago. The ingredients were all done to perfection - and topped off by lovely, thick, home-made potato scones. Yum! The cafe interior is quirky, colourful and eclectic - and the background music can seduce you into staying longer than intended. They also have a lovely casual area downstairs, that is open for private functions. Great to see coffee culture being done properly. A great wee find!
R. M.
Hands down my favourite place for brunch and coffee in Glasgow. Not only is it the cutest wee place but the food is 10/10 and the staff are always super friendly!
O. Z.
Lovely little place, with bohemian -vintage ambiance and nice background music. Friendly staff and some artistic characters among the members of public. We had only coffee, which was really good, I also liked the ceramic cups and saucers matching the colour of coffee😃 It's my first coffee place in Glasgow and I wouldn't look for another one next time I'm in the city.
K. G.
I came here today intending to just have a coffee. I ended up ordering their mushroom melt and i have to say it was delicious as was there flat white coffee.
My usual haunt is one of the big guy coffee shops (starbucks 😱 which i won't lie i do like their coffees too)
The big advantages are the relaxing atmosphere, the fabulous food and the staff are geniunely lovely.
If you want a good coffee, delicious food or a moment to relax this is the place to be.
So as you've probably guessed my overall opinion is i really liked it here and i would most certainly recommend it to others.
J. E.
Came for Sunday brunch and had food only. The veggie breakfast plate was amazing. Variety of small and tasty items that may not look like much but will fill you up!
Upstairs seating is limited. Basement seating available but on a nice day you really don’t wanna find yourself down there.
P. M.
Visited last weekend with family and sampled the all day brunch menu. We were welcomed on entry and seated in a lovely comfortable area downstairs. The place has various seating areas and it was great to see how friendly and attentive the staff were. It was a busy period when we were eating but we received great service. The staff also welcomed a large party whilst we were eating and rearranged the seating area to accommodate them together. The food and coffee was top class and the atmosphere in Willow Grove is so relaxing and laid back, there is no rush....we sat and enjoyed coffee and a selection of freshly baked cakes after our brunch, listening to some chilled out tunes. Can't wait to go back!!
S. D.
BEST cake I've ever had. I had the Guiness cake (I don't really like Guiness but you can't taste it in the cake anyway) Moist, dense, not too sweet. Perfect!! 😃 Lovely place. Lovely staff.
M. G.
During our last stay in Glasgow we came here twice for breakfast and I would definitely visit again if I ever come back. It's a cozy place with consistently good service and food, even if different staff members are present.
There are several tasty dishes and the homemade cakes are amazing.
We even liked their background music :-)
m. r.
I think their coffee is one if the best. Love the place. Their full breakfast is so good a bit salty that is because i dont use salt in my food. Only on pasta and rice. But i do love the place.
L. M.
A real cosy place to sit back & relax. The coffee was heavenly! The lass who served me was lovely. I'll be back again very soon & am looking forward to trying the cakes - they look divine!
N. J. M.
This is a lovely find. Truly wonderful aladins cave. Only had a decaf coffee which was a pleasant roast and suitably smooth. Next time I return will definitely try and cake which there was a bouffant of.
H. K.
Highly recommended 👌 food was absolutely fabulous, as the service. I'll definitely be back
H. L.
Amazing cafe! My favourite one in Glasgow so far! Vegan and vegetarian options! They change the menu, so you can either go for a big nice breakfast or a big nice lunch. Not over pricey and omg!!!! Best capuccino in glasgow so far!!!! They have soya and oat milk.....yummy!!!!
D. D.
