J. Z.We've been here a fair number of times, and we usually get omlettes (cheese and tomato, cheese and onion, or cheese and mushroom) with salad and chips - with coffee or tea to drink.
Food tastes great, service is speedy and friendly, and the value is great.
I also like the atmosphere - usually it's very quiet, with no music on. Conversations are mostly quiet, so it's easy to hear your own group.

J. C.Came in for a quick lunch. Had ham and cheese omelette with a decaf white coffee. Good covid protocols. My little coffee had a frothy top rather than just cold milk but tadted nice enough. The omelette was really nice but not really cheesy. The chips rather bland sadly. The ketchup was watery sachets which was a shame. The side salad was fresh, and it was nice to have some grated carrot, not just a bit of lettuce, tomatoe and cucumber.

C. W.One of Hull's great tangible cultural assets! My wife used to come here as a kid with her parents, and thankfully the place has hardly changed since then. You have to get a booth of you can. Good stick-to-your-ribs food, plus daily specials, all at a good price. Table service by friendly staff. A delight in an age when most other places are loathsome chains. Walk past Costa and come here instead!

A. W.We popped in here after doing some shopping, we've never noticed it before but I'm glad we did. We ordered a pot of tea, a coffee with a toffee syrup, which I must add was incredible!
For food we ordered two steak pies, chips and swapped out peas with mushy peas.
The waitress who served us was lovely and really friendly. The service was quick to say there was no such thing are tables in the whole place.
The total bill came to under £14 for two people which for the food and drinks we ordered was brilliant.
My only very small complaint would be that you have to go outside and walk to the back of the building into a car park to get to the toilet.
Other than that everything was spot on!
E.Great little cafe, probably my favourite in Hull! The menu is varied, everything is very reasonably priced and the service is excellent. I love the whole design of the cafe too, the interior is beautiful!
M. R.been In here many times and always had good food and good service went in today Fri 16/10/2020 we only had a snack sandwich and coffee but there was one arrogant customer which the owner dealt with in a professional manner WELL DONE TO THE MANAGER.

I do not really like egg but for me to subsitute it from the breakfast menu it would cost me an extra 25p...no where else in town charges to change items that I have eaten at. Putting this aside...I ordered a cheese sandwich and a cuppa. The sandwich was made with soft fresh bread and really complemented the cheese. The cuppa was very nice too. Thank you
